To use your tong
• Switch the on/off switch on to use. The red light will illuminate.
• Rest the tong on the heat protection stand while heating (as illustrated on the front cover), in order to avoid scorching or burning of work surfaces.
• This product is ready to use in 2 minutes.
• Once the tong has reached a temperature suitable for use the light will begin to flash.
WARNING: This tong is professional standard and will reach very high temperatures. Do not leave on your hair for more than a few seconds as this may damage your hair. Never allow the barrel to come into contact with the skin.
Styling tips
Having shampooed your hair, ensure that it is rinsed properly as shampoo that is left in the hair will leave it looking dull.
To maximise shine, rinse your hair in cool water thoroughly.
Comb your hair through with a wide toothed comb to remove tangles before styling.
Dry your hair thoroughly using a Morphy Richards hairdryer. By drying your hair thoroughly before using the tong you will avoid creating frizz.
Styling
Divide your hair into styling sections, brushing each section through thoroughly.
Take a small section of hair. Larger sections of the hair will create a larger, softer curl. Raise the tong by pressing the clamp lever. Place the outer section of the hair between the tong and the barrel. Lower the tong to trap the end of the hair. Rotate the handle to wind the hair around the outside of the tong. You may find this easier if you hold the finger grip loosely with the other hand.
Leave the tong in place for about 10-15 seconds, depending on the length and thickness of the hair. Unwind the hair carefully. Raise the tong to release the hair and leave the curl in position until it has cooled.
Repeat on all sections of the hair. The tong barrel has been ceramic coated to stop your hair from sticking.
