POWERFUL 1800W DRYER WITH THERMOCERAMIC AND
TOURMALINE PROTECTION TO HELP MINIMISE FRIZZ
THERMOCERAMIC & TOURMALINE
DE FRIZZ DRYER
Your new de frizz dryer has been designed by electrical experts Morphy Richards and twice international hairdresser of the year Mark Hill. Use this style guide to help you get the most from your styling tool.
HOW DOES TOURMALINE TECHNOLOGY WORK?
Morphy Richards Mark Hill styling tools combine powerful ThermoCeramic heating technology with the added protection and performance of Tourmaline. This semi-precious gemstone has unique infrared and ionic properties. Negative ions are emitted close to the hair cuticles to create an ultra-sleek surface, preventing over-drying and unnecessary damage. The results? Super-enhanced shine, amazing colour and unrivalled protection.
STEP 1: DRYING YOUR HAIR
After you have shampooed and conditioned your hair,
comb through gently using a wide-tooth comb.
When wet, hair can stretch by up to 1/3 of its length.
Treat it gently at this stage, to avoid damaging your hair.
Before you apply a heat protection spray, use your
hairdryer to ‘waft’ the excess moisture from your hair.
If you apply a styling product on very wet hair, you
might dilute the product, making it less effective.
Apply the heat protection spray evenly from the
roots of your hair to the ends.
Using sectioning clips take a small section of hair from
the nape of the neck, and secure the rest of your hair
away from it. Using a paddle brush, dry the hair,
pointing the hairdryer down the hair from roots to ends
to help avoid any ‘frizzy’ bits.
Once this section is dry, use the cool button for a
couple of seconds to ‘set’ the hair.
Take the next section of hair, dry and cool. Do this for
the rest of your hair. This may take a little longer than
you are used to at first, but the results you achieve will
be worth it, and your style will last longer.
VARIATIONS ON THE BASIC BLOW DRY
For extra volume
As you dry each section of hair, using a radial brush, dry
the hair in the opposite direction to the way it normally falls.
This will give the maximum volume on the root area.
To shape the hair around the face or fringe area
Put your brush in the section of hair, right up to the
roots, and dry your hair, keeping the brush close to your
face. This will just gently shape the hair to frame the
face beautifully.
To achieve a choppy texture on layered hair
When the hair is dry, rub a very small amount of a shine
gel or serum through your hands, and then through your
hair. Use your Dryer to blast the hair into shape.
STYLING TIP
The Dryer can also be used to revive your style.
Put Velcro rollers in your hair – use them all over,
or just on the crown to add a little more volume to
your hair. Spray the rollers with a little light hairspray,
and then use the Dryer on a medium heat setting
to dry the hairspray, followed by a cool blast to set
the look. Remove the rollers and comb through
using either your fingers, or a wide-tooth comb.
USING YOUR HAIRDRYER:
1. Having shampooed your hair, ensure that it is rinsed thoroughly as shampoo that is left in
the hair will leave it looking dull.
2. Comb your hair through with a wide-tooth comb to remove tangles before styling.
3. Ensure the concentrator nozzle is detached.
4. Move the on/off switch to position to turn the hairdryer on.
5. Use the three heat and two speed settings to make the dryer operate faster and hotter,
to help remove excess water from your hair.
6. As your hair begins to dry, switch off the hair dryer and clip on one of the concentrator nozzles to begin styling your hair. The narrow nozzle must only be used with low and medium heat settings. If you are blow drying curly hair into a straight style, use the concentrator to direct air down into the shaft of hair.
7. As you begin to style your hair during drying, turn the heat/speed dial to select a slower and cooler setting.
8. When your hair is dry, and you have achieved the desired style, press and hold the cool shot button . This will release a burst of cold air which will set your style in place.
9. Always remember to switch the on/off button to the position, to turn your hairdryer off.
CLEANING YOUR FILTER:
Cleaning the air filter regularly will ensure that only clean air is used to dry your hair and that the dryer will not overheat and cut out. To remove the air filter, ensure the hair dryer is unplugged from the mains supply and hold the body of the dryer firmly while twisting the cover to release the filter. Take out the filter to clean away hair and lint using a vacuum cleaner. Ensure the filter is completely dry before refitting. To re-fit, locate the air filter into the filter cover and click the cover back into place.
