IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The use of any electrical appliance requires the following of basic common sense safety rules.
Primarily there is danger of injury or death and secondly the danger of damage to the appliance. These are indicated in the text by the following two conventions:

In addition we offer the following essential safety advice.
Location
• Remove all packaging and retain for future reference.
• Ensure the appliance is used on a firm, flat surface.
• Do not use the appliance outdoors or in a bathroom.
• Do not place the appliance on a highly polished wooden surface as damage may occur to the surface.
• Do not place the appliance on or near a hot surface such as a hot plate or radiant rings or near a naked flame.
• Do not let the mains lead overhang the edge of the table or work-top, or touch hot surfaces.
Children
• Children do not understand the dangers associated with operating electrical appliances. Never allow children to use this appliance.
Personal safety
• Avoid touching moving parts. Keep hands, hair, clothing as well as spatula and other utensils away from chopper blades during operation, to prevent personal injury and/or damage to the appliance.
WARNING: To protect
against risk of electric shock NEVER immerse the appliance body in water or in any other liquid and always ensure the electrical connections are kept dry.
Other safety considerations
• Always disconnect the blender from the supply if it is left unattended and before assembling, dissembling or cleaning.
• Never pull on the cord to unplug the appliance.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
• The power cord cannot be replaced. Contact Morphy Richards for advice.
• The use of attachments or tools not recommended or sold by Morphy Richards may cause fire, electric shock or injury.
• Do not use the appliance for other than its intended use.

ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
Check that the voltage on the rating plate of your appliance corresponds with your house electricity supply which must be A.C. (Alternating Current).
If the socket outlets in your home are not suitable for the plug supplied with this appliance, the plug should be removed and the appropriate one fitted.
WARNING: The plug removed from the mains lead, if severed, must be destroyed as a plug with bared flexible cord is hazardous if engaged into a live socket outlet.
Should the fuse in the 13amp plug require replacement, a 3 amp BS1362 fuse must be fitted.
This appliance does not need to be earthed, as it is a double insulated product.

Your hand blender is designed to help you prepare
everything from soups to chocolate mousse, crush
ice quickly and chop a variety of food with minimal
effort.
The hand blender can be used with the measuring
beaker or a saucepan.

Unpacking your hand blender
WARNING: Carefully unpack your hand blender, the blades are very sharp.
Wash all parts with the exception of the blender body before first use, see cleaning instructions page 7. .
Assembling the attachments
Insert by pushing the blending leg, whisk gearbox or the chopping bowl lid into the blender body, until it clicks into place.
To remove the attachment press the release button.
Using the hand blender
WARNING: Make sure that the hand blender is switched off and unplugged from the mains.
1 Clean the blending leg before
using it for the first time with a damp cloth.
2 Insert the blending leg into the
main housing and click into place A.
3 The hand blender can now be
plugged in and is ready to use.
WARNING: Do not blend in the chopping bowl or damage will occur to the product. Use the plastic measuring beaker.
4 Place the blending leg into the
food to blend, select the required speed for your food on the speed control, then press the on/off button B. Release the on/off to stop blending.
5 After use, unplug the blender
and remove the blending leg by pressing the release button and pull gently away.
6 Give the blending leg a rinse
with cold water. If the main body has been splashed just give it a wipe with a damp cloth.
WARNING: Your hand blender is designed for intermittent use. Do not use non-stop for more than 1 minute. Allow to cool down for a minimum of 5 minutes before further use.
Using the chopper attachment
The chopper attachment can be used for meat, hard cheese, nuts, herbs, boiled eggs, dry bread etc.
WARNING: Blades are very sharp.
1 Place the chopping bowl onto
the chopping bowl base. This will prevent the jug from slipping C.
2 Fit the chopping blade into the
chopping bowl D.
3 Add food to be chopped. 4 Place the chopping lid on top,
making sure that it is correctly fitted on the chopping blade E.
5 Place the blender body onto
the top of the chopping bowl lid until it has clicked into place.
6 Plug the blender into the mains
socket and press the on/off switch, holding the blender and jug firmly on the work surface. Note: Your hand blender is not suitable for grinding coffee beans.
When chopping meat ensure that all the bones have been removed, before adding to the bowl.

Using for Ice crushing
The blender leg is fitted with a special blade suitable for crushing ice. It can be used to crush ice cubes to produce fine ice for cocktails, cold drinks etc.
1 Place a maximum of 4 ice
cubes in the plastic measuring beaker.
2 Press firmly down on the ice
cubes with the blender using a plunging action until the ice cubes are fine ice pieces.
Using whisk attachment
1 Insert the whisk attachment into
the whisk gearbox F.
2 Place the whisk gear box and
whisk attachment onto the blender body, by aligning the release button indent on the gearbox until it has clicked into place G.
• To avoid splashing, start whisk on speed 1 and increase to speed 3 if required. Do not use ‘Turbo’.
Top tips
• When blending foods with strong colour (eg. carrots) the plastic parts of the appliance may become discoloured. Wipe with cooking oil to clean any discoloured parts.
• For blending and chopping,
select a slow speed for soft ingredients, increase the speed to produce the consistency required.
• Select a high speed for chopping or blending hard ingredients.
• When using the blending leg, start the process by plunging the blender into the ingredients. This will ensure all the ingredients are pulled into the blade to be processed. Continue this movement until the mixture is to the desired consistency.
• Do not lift the blender head out of the mixture as splashing may occur.

Trouble shooting
Check the plug is in its socket and the switch is in the ‘on’ position.
Is the plug itself or the socket faulty? Check this by plugging in another appliance.
Appliance gets very hot. Blender has been used continuously for too long. Leave the appliance to cool.
• Appliance not working.
The removable attachments have not been fitted correctly. Detach the attachment and replace as described in ‘Assembling the attachment’.
Wall mounting bracket
The hand blender can be wall mounted for convenient storage H.
WARNING: Always ensure you are not drilling into the wall adjacent to any electrical wires or pipes such as water or gas.
Do not mount the storage bracket/unit over or near any portion of a heating or cooking appliance or sink or basin.
1 Find a suitable position on the
wall or cupboard where the blender is to be positioned.
2 Mark the fixing points through
the bracket.
3 If you are fixing to a solid brick
or block wall use a 6mm masonry drill and drill to a depth of 25mm.
4 If fixing to a wood or cupboard
surface, drill a 2mm pilot hole or use a bradawl.

Cleaning
Before cleaning and maintenance, switch the appliance off and unplug it.
WARNING: Handle the blades with care as they are sharp.
1 The whisk gearbox and
chopping bowl lid should be wiped over with a warm soapy cloth. Do not immerse these parts in water.
2 Clean the main housing with a
damp cloth and dry all the parts thoroughly.
WARNING: Never immerse main housing in water or any other liquid.

It is important to retain the retailers receipt as proof of purchase. Staple your receipt to this back cover for future reference. Please quote the following information if the product develops a fault. These numbers can be found on the base of the product.

All Morphy Richards products are individually tested before leaving the factory. In the unlikely event of any appliance proving to be faulty within 28 days of purchase it should be returned to the place of purchase for it to be replaced. If the fault develops after 28 days and within the guarantee period from the original purchase date, you should contact the Helpline number quoting Model number and Serial number
on the product, or write to Morphy Richards at the address shown. You will be asked to return the product (in secure, adequate packaging) to the address below along with a copy of proof of purchase. Subject to the exclusions set out below (see Exclusions) the faulty appliance will then be repaired or replaced and dispatched usually within 7 working days of receipt. If for any reason this item is replaced during the guarantee period, the guarantee on the new item will be calculated from original purchase date. Therefore it is vital to retain your original till receipt or invoice to indicate the date of initial purchase.
To qualify for the guarantee the appliance must have been used according to the instructions supplied.
Exclusions
Morphy Richards shall not be liable to replace or repair the goods under the terms of the guarantee where:
1 The fault has been caused
or is attributable to accidental use, misuse, negligent use or used contrary to the manufacturers recommendations or where the fault has been caused by power surges or damage caused in transit.
2 The appliance has been
used on a voltage supply other than that stamped on the products.
3 Repairs have been
attempted by persons
other than our service staff (or authorised dealer).
4 Where the appliance has
been used for hire purposes or non domestic use.
5 Morphy Richards are not
liable to carry out any type of servicing work, under the guarantee.
This guarantee does not confer any rights other than those expressly set out above and does not cover any claims for consequential loss or damage. This guarantee is offered as an additional benefit and does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
