IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Read all instructions before using.
The useof any electrical appliance requires the following common sense safety rules.
Primarily there is a danger of injury or death and secondarily the dan­ger of damage to the appliance.
LOCATION
Do not use or keep this product outside.
Do not store the appliance near hot surfaces eg. ovens or heating ap­pliances.
MAINS LEAD
Do not allow the mains lead to be­come strained or run this appliance over it.
• If the electrical cable becomes damaged the cable assembly must be replaced. Do not attempt this task yourself, contact the helpline number found at the back of this booklet.
PERSONAL SAFETY
The plug must be removed from the wall socket before cleaning or maintaining the appliance.
Never modify the cleaner in any way.
Never use in the presence of explo­sive liquids or vapours.
• Never pick up inflammable or poisonous liquids such as petrol, copier toner or other volatile sub­stances. Never pickup acids, as­bestos or asbestos dust.
Repairs to electrical appliances are only to be undertaken by trained personnel. Unprofessional repairs can be dangerous for users.
Use only genuine Morphy Richards spare parts and accessories.
The appliance must never be left
running when unsupervised.
This vacuum cleaner is intended for household use only. Misuse or use for commercial or any other purpose will render the guarantee invalid.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowl­edge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
PRODUCT SAFETY
Never use the appliance without the filters being installed.
Never use the appliance to vac­uum hot ashes, broken glass, sharp objects or liquids.
Never use this appliance with wet hands.
Never insert or remove the plug from the mains with wet hands.
CHILDREN
Children do not understand the dangers associated with operat­ing electrical appliances. Never allow children to use this appli­ance unless properly supervised.
Young children should be super­vised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance or stumble over the power cord.
ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
Check that the voltage on the rat­ing label of your appliance cor­responds with your house elec­tricity supply which must be AC (alternating current).
OPERATING THE APPLIANCE
1. Fitting or removing the flexible
hose
• Fitting:
Insert the flexible hose into the air in­take duct on the front of the appliance. Press until it clicks into position.

• Removing: First remove the plug from the power socket, before releasing the flexible hose firmly from the air intake duct. To release, squeeze the clips either side and pull.
2. Fitting the extension tubes and accessories.
a) Assemble the combination floor tool, telescopic tube and hose as shown. To extend the telescopic tube to the required length, push the slider release and pull out the tube.
b) Attach your choice of floor tool to the telescopic tube.
Floor tool:
Ideal for daily cleaning of carpets and hard floors, such as wood, lami­nate, tile and vinyl flooring.
Crevice tool:
For awkward places, ie. behind ra­diators, corners, baseboards and between cushions.
Round brush:
Used for furniture, venation blinds, books, lamp shades and shelves.
Small brush:
Used for curatins and upholstery.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Before using appliance, un­wind sufficient length of cable and insert the plug into the power socket. A yellow mark on the power cable shows the ideal cable length. Do not extend the cable beyond the red mark.
Press the on / off button to switch the appliance on.
Eco switch:
A variable Eco switch varies the suc­tion power as required. For example, maximum suction can be used for cleaning carpets, hard floors etc. and reduced suction for cleaning upholstery and curtains. Suction can also be controlled us­ing the airflow regulator on the hose handle. Closed for maximum suc­tion, open for reduced suction.
Automatic cable rewind:
Afer use, unplug and press the cable rewind switch to retract the cable.
Emptying the dust bag:
To obtain the best from your cleaner, change the dust bag regularly. other­wise the airflow and cleaning power will be reduced. NOTE: If you forget to attach the dust bag or attach it incorrectly, the dust cover may not close properly.
1. Remove the flexible tube, and open the front cover.
2. Pull clip backwards to unsecure the dust bag.
3. Remove the dust bag.
4. Replace the dust bag when it is full of dirt and put in a new one.
5. Close the cover by pressing down until it clicks into place.
Cleaning the filter:
The filter should be cleaned at least twice a year, or when it becomes vis­ibly soiled. A clogged filter will result in reduced suction or even motor dam­age. Always operate the cleaner with the filter installed. Disconnect from the electrical outlet before cleaning the filter. Do not use a washing machine to rinse the filter. Do not use a hairdryer to dry it.
1. Pull the dust bag upward.
2. Pull the filter supporter upwards.
3. Remove the filter.
4. Rinse the filter in lukewarm water and dry it completely.
5. Put the filter back.
Changing the HEPA filter:
1. Open the cover for the HEPA filter by unclipping the cover.
2. Use both fingers to pull out the HEPA filter by pulling upwards.

3. Take the HEPA filter out and replace with a clean one.
4. Close the HEPA filter cover until the cover clicks into place.
SAFETY CUT-OUT
This appliance has been fitted with a thermal cut-out to prevent the motor from overheating and burning out. If this happens, switch the cleaner off, unplug from the power supply and leave the cleaner to cool for at least 60 minutes. Check the airways for block­ages, empty the dust bag and clean the filters before restarting.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Remove plug from the the mains be­fore cleaning. The vacuum cleaner, especially the dust compartment and all accessories can be cleaned using a damp cloth or a non-abrasive cleaner and wiped.
