Connect the speakers to main unit
1 Ensure the mains power is disconnected.
2 Connect the speaker wires between the main unit and the speakers.
Match the speaker wire to the appropriate terminal on the components:
(+) to (+) (colour), and (-) to (-) (black). (If the wires are reversed, the
sound will be distorted and will lack some tones.)
3 Hold down the terminal tab to insert each wire. Release the tab to lock
the wire into the terminal. Make sure the bare wire is fully inserted and
that the insulation reaches right up to the tab leaving no bare wire
visible.
•To avoid short-circuiting the speakers, make sure the the stripped end
of each speaker wire does not touch another terminal or another wire.
Connect to the wall socket
Plug the unit to a live wall outlet.
Aerial connection
Connect FM radio aerial plug to socket on back panel.
Backlight illumination in standby mode
Press any key (except ON/STANDBY) on the control panel or the remote
control (when unit in standby mode) and the backlight for the display
illuminates and stays for a 10-seconds for you to check the information on
the display.

How to set correct time (in standby mode)
1Press and hold CLK.ADJ for more than 2 seconds.
2Press
SKIP/SEARCH to adjust the hours, press CLK.ADJ again to set the
minutes.
3Press
CLK.ADJ to confirm.
4 The time set will remain until you switch off the unit by the power
switch.
Alarm clock/timer function
How to preset the timer function (during operation)
With the unit working, press and hold CLK.ADJ to toggle between the
following modes:
Timer on Timer on hour Timer on minute Timer on mode
(power on with CD playback or tuned in radio station) Timer on
volume Timer off Timer off hour Timer off minute.
Adjust the timer on/off hour and minute by means of
SKIP/SEARCH buttons.
Choose timer on mode between CD/tuner by means of SKIP/SEARCH
buttons.
Then turn to stand-by. To turn off alarm hold down sleep/alarm on remote
control.
Sleep function
1Press SLEEP/ALARM on the remote control during CD playback or radio
broadcasting.
2 Then press
SLEEP/ALARM to change display and sleep time in a
sequence: 90 80 70 60 50 40 30 20 10
off.
When the sleep function is activated, the player goes to standby mode the
moment playback or broadcasting reaches the preset sleep time.
