Our thanks for your purchase of this Autocutter CT620Exa.
The unique feature of this autocutter is that material you print on A4, B4, A3, A3 wide or A4 wide
sheets such as business cards, postcards or tickets can be loaded in this cutter to produce the exact amount of items you need.
This autocutter delivers high precision and great productivity thanks to a unique paper transfer
technique developed in-house at NJRC. You will ?nd this autocutter adaptable to a wide range of
applications in your business.
NJRC ?rmly believes that this autocutter is the “Best Print Finish Solution” for daily printing work
at your business and will deliver high productivity by simplifying once complicated post-processing
tasks.
Read this instruction manual thoroughly before starting work. It will help you acquire a full understanding for using all autocutter functions safely and correctly. Please be sure to keep this manual

Sec 1 Overview
1. Observe these precautions
Caution
Please keep the following points in mind in order to use the autocutter safely and correctly.
This symbol indicates information that if ignored may cause death or serious injury to the machine operator and others.

Warning
Warning
1. Do not install the autocutter close to potential sources of
heat such as forced-air heaters, kerosene stoves, infl am-
mable solvent or direct sunlight. These are a potential
fi re hazards.

2. Do not dismantle or otherwise modify the machine. This
may lead to injury due to contact with the cutting blade
inside the machine or from electric shocks or fi re, etc.

3. Turn off the power before attempting to clear up paper
jams (paper blockages) or before cleaning the machine.
Also, be sure not to cut your fi ngers on the cutting blade
inside the machine.
Warning
4. Insert the plug fully into the electrical outlet (socket). Failure to do so creates a fi re and electrical shock hazard.
Do not touch with moist hands since this might cause
electrical shocks.
Warning
5. Provide separate single-phase 100 and 240 volt 10 amp
power sources. Using other than the these specifi ed volt-
ages might result in fi re or electrical shock hazards. Use
a grounded power outlet (socket) to eliminate the danger
of shock in case of electrical leakage.

6. Handle the power cable carefully.
Do not place heavy objects on the power cable. Do not
install the power cable near heaters. A damaged cable
may cause machine failures and become a fi re or electrical
shock hazard.
Using excess force when bending or pulling on the power
cable or attempting to modify the power cable will create
fi re or electrical shock hazards. If the power cable is worn
or damaged contact the dealer or service representative.

7. Disconnect the power cable immediately if trouble or abnormal situations occur.
Do not attempt to use the machine under abnormal condi-
tions such as unusual sounds, odors or smoke, etc. Doing
so might create fi re or electrical shock hazards. If abnor-
mal conditions occur remove the power cable from the
socket and contact your dealer or service representative.

8. Do not let foreign substances penetrate inside the machine.
If metal or infl ammable material get inside the machine they
might create fi re or electrical shock hazards. If this hap-
pens, remove the power cable from the socket and contact
your dealer or service representative.

9. Do not place metals or containers with liquid inside on top
of the machine. If these substances make contact with
electrical parts inside the machine it might create fi re or
electrical shock hazards. If such substances should get inside the machine immediately pull out the power cable and
contact your dealer or service representative.

10. Always fi rst turn off the power before attempting to replace
the rotary blade. Failure to do may result in injuries and/or
electrical shock.

11. Do not let your hands or fi ngers near the paper feed area
while the tray is rising. You might be injured if your fi ngers
become caught in the machine.

Caution
1. Do not install the machine in areas with high temperatures
and humidity or low temperatures and humidity. Do not
install in locations subject to direct air fl ow from an air con-
ditioner.

2. Do not install the machine in areas where volatile gases
such as ammonia might be generated.

3. Do not install the machine in locations that are unstable or
not level (within 1 degree of surface level). Doing so may
cause the printer to fall over and sustain damage. Do not
install in locations with large amounts of dust.

4. Leave an adequate space around the outlet (socket) so the
power plug can be quickly pulled out in an emergency.

5. Do not open any part of the printer during operation.
Doing so may cause equipment malfunctions or abnormal
operation.

6. Be sure to disconnect all external cables before attempting
to move the machine.
A damaged power cable might cause fi res or electrical
shocks.

7. Grip the power cable by the plug body when pulling it out of
the electrical outlet (socket).
Never attempt to remove it by pulling on the cord. A dam-
aged power cable might cause fi res or electrical shocks.

8. Keep the power plug clean. Check for any damage or
dirt on the power plug by disconnecting it from the socket
at periodic intervals. Damaged cables or accumulated
dirt or grime on the cable might cause fi res or electrical
shocks.
Advice
1. Cleaning the printer at regular intervals is strongly recommended.
Dirt, dust or grime that accumulate on or around the ma-
chine might badly effect machine performance. Clean the
machine at regular scheduled maintenance periods.
2. Labels attached to the machine
Various yellow warning and caution labels can be seen on
the machine. These labels give important information on
machine operation and daily maintenance that require particular attention. Comply with instructions listed on these
labels to obtain maximum machine performance.

missing or the outer case is scratched, please contact the store where you purchased it or your

Caution
Use 2 or more people when extracting this product from the packing case.
This unit alone weighs approximately 70 kilogram (154 pounds). Be careful not to harm your back
when lifting or moving it.

■ Installation location
Observe the following precautions when installing the machine.
٨ Avoid installing the machine in the following locations which may cause equipment breakdowns
or endanger safety.
Ԙ Locations with high temperatures, high humidity or low temperatures, low humidity.
ԙ Locations subject to sudden changes in
humidity and/or temperature.
Ԛ Locations in direct sunlight.
ԛ Locations near sparks or heat.
Ԝ Locations where machine is directly exposed to wind such as from coolers, heaters or vents.
ԝ Locations where volatile gases such as ammonia are emitted.
Ԟ Locations that are not level or that do not have a sturdy fl oor.
ԟ Locations where electrical leakage or fl uid splashes might occur.
Ԡ Locations with large amounts of dust or vibration.
ԡ Locations near curtains or infl ammable materials.
Caution
When carrying this machine always use at least 2 people and hold it by the carry grips on the
cutting waste container section. Do not carry it by holding the rotary blade grip or the shaft on the
upper side of the feed unit.
Caution
After the machine is installed, clamp the front casters (2 locations) by lowering the lever to lock
the casters so the machine cannot move.
■ Power supply
٨ Comply with the following points to ensure safe power supply operation and prevent the ma-
chine from malfunctioning.
Ԙ Use caution since using other electrical appliances from the same electrical outlet may ex-
ceed the power supply current rating. In particular avoid using with machines that consume
large amounts of current (instantaneous current surges) such as large DC motors and copy
machines.
ԙ Use in locations not subject to large voltage fl uctuations.

• Always use an electrical power outlet having a ground to prevent electrical shock in the

Setup before operation
Always make the following setup before attempting to operate the device.
Ԙ Take the accessories out of the waste cutting paper hopper and connect the accessories
according to the instructions in this manual.
ԙ Open up the waste cutting paper hopper bag and set it in the cutting waste hopper. Place
the cutting waste hopper inside the machine and close the top cover.
ع Cautions during use
Observe the following points to obtain maximum use from this machine.
• Do not place heavy objects on the machine. Do not apply shocks to the machine.
• If the machine becomes abnormally hot or emits abnormal sounds, promptly remove the
power cord.
• Do not place the machine near magnets.
• Do not let metal objects such as clips or staples fall into the machine through gaps in the
external case.
• Do not use infl ammable spray around the machine.
• Do not cut off the power while the machine is cutting.
• Using devices like radio or TVs from the same electrical outlet may cause noise to be emitted from those devices during cutting.
• Do not handle with moist hands since this might cause electrical shock.
• Keep in a place out of the reach of children.
• If not using for extended periods, always remove the power cord plug from the outlet (socket) to ensure safety.
ع Other cautions during operation
■ Cautions when handing the machine.
• When carrying this machine always use at least 2 people and hold it by the carry grips on the
bottom of the unit.
• Do not place objects on this machine during cutting.
The upper section of the feed unit has an air exhaust vent for suctioning air from the paper so
placing an object on this unit will disable the paper feed.

1.AUTOCUTTER PAPER
ع Paper types and weights (thickness)
Use the following table as a guide when selecting paper types and weights (thickness) that can
be used for paper cutting.
Using other types of paper than in the table below may cause paper feed errors or paper jams or
defective cutting so check that the paper is compatible with the autocutter before using.
Thickness may vary according to the paper production lot and paper quality.
Fine paper (dedicated paper) used in printers is generally shown by weight (g/m
2
) and weight
(thickness). The weight (g/m
2
) is within a spec. range of approximately 105 to 325 g/m2.
ع Check the paper curl before using
To ensure cutting performance, place the paper on a level mount (or stand) and check the
amount of paper curl. Use only paper with a curl of less than 5 mm on the upper (or lower) side.
Using paper with a curl of 5 mm or more may cause irregular cutting precision.
ع Handling the paper
■ Using paper with heavy electrostatic charges or extremely slippery paper or specially treated
paper may sometimes cause paper blockages or feed errors or cutting mistakes. Make sure
you use the correct paper before starting work.
■ Avoid storing the paper in the following locations.
•Locations with high heat and/or humidity,•locations exposed to direct sunlight, •locations with
large quantities of dust, •locations with sparks, •locations subject to sudden changes in temperature or humidity.
■ To prevent paper jams or blockages, set the paper in the feed tray after opening the package.
■ Paper with a large amount of curl may cause paper jams or feed errors. Correct the curl in the
paper by hand and then set it in place.
■ Use only the same type of paper when setting paper in the feed tray. Using different types of
paper at the same time may cause paper feed errors or paper jams.
■ Using the autocutter in high temperature - high heat environments may cause paper wrinkles,
curls or paper damage, etc. If such problems occur, switch to an air-conditioned environment.
■ Printing on paper containing the powder used in offset printing may cause paper feed errors
or paper jams.

2.LONG BLADES & ROTARY BLADES
The cutting blade in this machine automatically cuts to a specifi ed fi nish paper sized using 2
types of blades: a long blade (fi xed type: long-life) and rotary blade (unit replaceable type).
The long blade makes a vertical cut (height cut) along the paper feed direction as seen from
the front of the machine. The rotary blade makes a horizontal (side) cut along the paper feed
direction as seen from the front of the machine.
Perform the cutting and adjustments after fi rst fi nding out the direction the blade cuts along.

Note : Each cover and rotary blade is installed with an interlock as a safety precaution so the ma-
chine won’t operate if a cover is open or the rotary blade is not installed.

Ԙ START/STOP switch Cutting starts when this switch is pressed while in standby mode.
Pressing this switch during cutting will pause the cutting operation
after the paper for the on-going cutting task is used.
ԙ ENTER switch Use this switch to enter changes to setting in the format (setting) en-
try mode.
Ԛ MENU switch Changes to either STANDBY mode or Setting Entry Mode
each time this switch is pressed.
ԛ CLEAR switch Pressing this switch while cutting operation is paused, returns opera-
tion to standby mode.
Changes made to settings are invalid in format (setting) entry mode.
Ԝ DOWN switch Pressing this switch in standby mode shifts the operation to setting
display mode.
Pressing this switch in setting display mode returns operation to
standby.
Menu selection and number input can be used in format (setting) entry mode.

Ԟ LEFT switch Use to move the cursor in format (setting) entry mode.
ԟ RIGHT switch
Ԡ POWER LED lamp This lamp lights up (green) while power is being supplied.

Operating terms for cutting format & condition settings
Special terms needed for setting the cutting conditions you need are as follows.
Settings are ... conditions set in setting entry mode (a selected value or number, etc.)
Stored settings are ... new settings stored in the machine by the user (settings)
Default values are ... same settings as made at factory prior to shipment.
Mode is ... a general name for the following machine states.
• Initial mode : Status after reset due to an error or
the state right after power is turned on.
• Standby mode : Machine is in standby (or waiting) status.
• Cutting mode: Status during cutting
• Setting display mode: Setting display status
• Setting entry mode: State where settings can be changed.
Cutting standards are ... reference points for establishing the cutting start position for the long
blade for each paper (type). On this machine, the paper edge and cut
marks are selectable.
Cut marks are ... high contrast black marks of a specifi ed size printed on the edge of
the paper.
All cutting is ... is cutting all paper set in the paper feed tray, without setting the cut
sheet counter.
Sheet cut count is. is setting the cut sheet counter to continue cutting until the specifi ed
number of sheets have been cut.
Fixed formats are ... formats for cutting forms such as business cards and postcards from
fi xed paper sizes such as A3, B4, A4, A3 wide, A4 wide.
Format No.s appearing on the LCD display are from F1 - F8.
Free format is ... format allowing you to set an optional cutting size on the long blade.
Format No.s appearing on the LCD display are from fF1 - fF8.
Rotary blade format is ... format is a format for cutting only with the rotary blade and not with
