Switching the cooking zones on:
Touch the heat zone selection key corresponding to the zone you wish to cook on. There is a static dot indication of the selected heat zone display and a blinking dot on all other displays.

Switching the cooking zones off:
A cooking zone can be turned off in 3 different ways:
· Simultaneous operation of the and keys.
· Reducing the heat setting to 0 by operating key.
· Use of the timer turn off function for the corresponding heat zone.
If the cooking zone is hot, H will be displayed instead of 0.
Timer/Minute Minder Function
The timer function provides the following features: The ability to run a maximum of 4 heat zone assigned timers and 1 minute minder
(which has no assigned heat zone) simultaneously. A heat zone timer can only be assigned to an active heat zone, running between heat
setting 1-9. The minute minder is independent of any heat zone. In order to use both functions, the timer function must be activated by the
Active/Inactive Timer Button .
Touching for the first time after activating the heat zones will activate the minute minder (no cooking zone indicator will be flashing). 00 will show and you can set a time for the minute minder function by pressing the timer increase or decrease buttons. Once set, the minute minder will not be stopped by switching off the appliance or activating the key lock. Once the minute minder timer is up the buzzer will sound. This can be stopped by touching any button.
Touching again will activate the timer function and will be assigned to one of the active heat zones, indicated by a flashing cooking zone indicator. Touching again
will allow you to toggle through the active heat zones in a clockwise direction. The cooking timer can be set by pressing the timer increase or decrease buttons.
Touching will allow you to set cook timers for additional heat zones if required. The timer display will show the timer that will run out next and the assignment of that
timer will be displayed by a flashing cooking zone indicator. The amount of timers running can be identified by the number of cooking zone indicators that are statically on.
You are able to toggle through the different timer/minute minder values by pressing
.
All heat zone timers can be erased by switching off the appliance. Although please note that the minute minder timer will not be erased.
11
If you wish to erase a heat zone timer you can either decrease the timer to 00 by pressing the timer decrease button or touch both the timer decrease and timer increase button simultaneously while the heat zone timer you wish to erase is selected.
After reaching 00 of a heat zone timer, the assigned heater will be set to 0. This will be indicated by a buzzer tone which can be stopped by touching any button.
Dual/Oval Zone Function:
The dual/oval zone function can be activated by selecting the Dual Zone Selector key as long as a zone capable of that function is selected. The extension zone can only be activated after a heat level of 1-9 is selected.
Heat Boost Function:
All heat zones are equipped with a heat boost function. If the heat boost function is active then the heat zone will operate with maximum
power for the period of the heat boost time. This is indicated through a flashing A, alternating with the heat setting value on the heat zone display. Once the heat boost time has ended only the heat setting will be shown.
If the heat boost is to be used for a heat zone, heat level 9 must be selected by pressing starting from level 0. After this A should alternately be displayed. The heat boost can be turned off by pressing until heat setting 0 appears. The heat boost can be activated again by pressing if the heat setting is set to 9. The display
will flash A/9.
Sensor Safety Cut Off:
To prevent the appliance from unwanted, random sensor operation, a sensor monitor is included. In case one or more buttons are held for longer than 12 seconds, the appliance will make a sound and switch off. The safety turn off causes the display to flash F on all heat zones displays. If residual heat is present, H will be displayed appropriately.
Over Temperature Switch Off:
As the control panel is located fairly near a heat zone it is possible for an incorrectly placed pan to heat up the glass of the control panel and cause damage. If this area gets too hot it will switch off automatically and be indicated on the heat zone display with the letter t until the temperature decreases.
12
Key Lock:
While the Key Lock function is active it is only possible to switch the appliance off. If the key lock button is pressed and held for two seconds the lock will be activated
and acknowledged by a buzzer. After this two second period the key lock indicator will flash and the heat zone will be locked.
Child Lock:
The child lock function is only available when the hob is in stand-by mode (when no heat zones are active).
To activate the child lock should be pressed until the buzzer sounds, then and
must be pressed simultaneously for at least 0.5 seconds but max 1 second,
followed by pressing the button.
When activated the above will be shown, to deactivate the child lock and must be pressed simultaneously for at least 0.5 seconds followed by pressing the
button. If removed correctly the L symbols should disappear.
Residual Heat
When the hob is turned off after cooking, there may be residual heat stored in the vitro-ceramic glass. If this is the case the display panel will display flashing H symbols over the corresponding heat zones until the temperature has cooled down to a safe level.
Operating Time Limitations
If a heat setting for a heat zone has not been changed for a prolonged period of time, the heat zone will automatically turn off. The operating time limitations will differ according to the selected heat setting.

- This is the cooling fan – it will remain on until the appliance has cooled down to a level which is not potentially harmful.
