Section 1. Installation
A qualified installer must carry out the installation.
This appliance can be used fully ‘vented’ via a ducting hose and external wall vent, or in ‘re-circulation’ mode by using the charcoal filter provided. If you choose recirculation mode you must remove the ‘press-out’ section C as shown below.
You must use a charcoal filter in re-circulation mode
If you intend to ‘vent’ via a ducting hose, you can connect the hose to the top via ‘press-out’ section A, or to the rear of the appliance via ‘press-out’ section B as shown below.
Do not fit a charcoal filter when venting to the
outside.
To complete the selection between venting and re-circulation, turn the lever inside the main body of the hood to the appropriate position as shown below:
7
The cooker hood should ideally be installed between 65-75cm above the work surface/cooker hob. DO NOT INSTALL BELOW 65cm.
Remove the hood, chimney and fixings from the carton. Mark out the position of the four (4) holes for the securing screws. Secure the hood to the base of the cabinet as shown.
Secure the screws into the security holes to ensure no ‘front to back’ movement.
If you are installing the hood directly on to the rear wall, continue as shown below. You must secure the hood with rawl plugs and also two screws in the ‘security’ holes.
8
If you want to use this appliance fully ‘vented’, connect the flexible ducting hose to the one-way valve on the motor and connect the other end to the wall outlet (not supplied). Do not fit the charcoal filter!
N.B. To ensure that
your cooker hood operates efficiently the hose length must not exceed 2m with a maximum of one bend.
N.B. Your installer will supply a wall outlet and may have to supply a
suitable alternative flexible duct to suit the wall outlet.
If you intend to use the appliance in ‘re-circulation’ mode, simply remove the Filter Cover by rotating the 2 fixing tabs on either side of the cover and then lay the charcoal filter on the upper face (facing the inside of the appliance) of the Filter Cover and secure in place with the retaining wire. Replace the Filter Cover. For re-circulation mode, you must also position the small adjuster to ‘re-circulation’ as shown on Page 6.
This appliance must not share the same air outlet as another appliance, i.e.
gas heating outlet.
The mains lead should be connected to a suitably positioned fused electrical
spur, protected by a 13amp fuse.
Ensure that dust and debris is cleaned up from the immediate area of the
appliance prior to it being switched on and tested for the first time.
