IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS
WARNING
In order to protect your own and others’ safety and to avoid
invalidation of the warranty of this product, please read this
section carefully before operating this product.
Read all documentation before operating your equipment.
Retain all documentation for further reference.
Amplifier output power should match with speaker rear label power.
Always operate the unit with amplifier AC ground wire connected
to the electrical system ground.
Precautions should be taken to avoid amplifier faulty, improper or
inefficient grounding.
Make sure that input and link signals are correctly connected to
each section.
Keep in mind to turn on amplifier last, and to turn off amplifier first!
Do no obstruct the speakers vented ports.
Consult a professional rigger or structural engineer prior to
suspending speakers.
The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle, is intended
to alert the user to the presence of important operating and
maintenance (servicing) instructions.
CAUTION
This product does not contain user serviceable parts.
In order to prevent fire and/or electrical shock,
never disassemble it. For maintenance and servicing
always refer to the official FiveO by Montarbo®
Distributor in your Country or to qualified personnel
specifically authorised by the Distributor.

equipment, please do not use the ordinary dust bin! Used electrical and
electronic equipment should not be disposed of via the normal household
waste stream but must be treated separately and in accordance with legislation that requires proper treatment, recovery and recycling of used electrical and electronic equipment. Following the implementation by member states, private households within the EU states may return their used
electrical and electronic equipment to designated collection facilities free of
charge*. In some countries* your local retailer may also take back your old
product free of charge if you purchase a similar new one. *Please contact
your local authority for further details.
In other Countries outside the EU | If you wish to dispose of this product, please contact your local authorities and ask for the correct method

INTRODUCTION
First of all, thank you for choosing a product FiveO by Montarbo®. DUETTO LIGHT passive full-range loudspeaker
series has been designed for those who want to set-up a portable and very user friendly audio sound system with excellent
performances and outstanding value. DUETTO LIGHT are manufactured with high quality components to assure you satisfying
and reliable operation over many years.
DUETTO LIGHT passive full-range loudspeakers perfectly suit the needs of small bands, rehearsal rooms, installation, pubs,
DJ-sets and any further application where a passive speaker better suits the needs.
Please, in order to enjoy each feature of your new loudspeakers, thus achieving the best sonic results, take a few moments
to carefully read these instructions.

FEATURES
DUETTO LIGHT passive full-range loudspeaker series has been designed be very user-friendly. The cabinet design main
goals were to provide light-weight and high-strength units. So we choose plastic cabinet and we added transport handles,
and several options for the right placement. The choice of speakers has been very careful, each driver has been expressly
designed and approved by our engineers to achieve optimum performances. Of course, the shape of the cabinet is ideal for
the best dispersion and smooth off-axis response.
To improve DUETTO LIGHT versatility, we added 6.35 mm (¼”) and 4-pole speakON
you to daisy-chain the needed quantity of speakers for any application.

INSTALLATION
Don’t place your DUETTO LIGHT passive speaker close to high-temperature devices such as amplifiers, radiators or exposed
to direct sunlight. Each loudspeaker is connected to the power amp via the 6.35 mm jack (¼”) and 4-pole SpeakON INPUT
and LINK connectors. First connect the mains cable to the amplifier, then connect the cable from amplifier to your DUETTO
LIGHT, finally turn on your amplifier.
Please note that all amplifiers must be properly grounded. For your own safety, you should never remove any ground
connector/device from electrical devices or power cables, or make them inactive. Please ensure that only qualified people
install and operate the portable PA unit.
Versatile mounting and placement
Thanks to DUETTO LIGHT cabinet shape and to provided accessories, you can easily use your active speakers for all application
and in any environment.
You can use your DUETTO LIGHT placed on any floor, since each loudspeaker bottom side has heavy duty rubber feet, which
are secured to the cabinet by screws. In this case you can also rotate FiveO logo, after removing it with a screwdriver. You
can also stack more DUETTO LIGHT speakers, using the bottom cabinet feet and the upper side stacking notches.
In your rehearsal room or pub, you can rig your DUETTO LIGHT using its rigging points. These points must be secured
using M8 bolts and reliable brackets on wall or ceiling. Please, consult a professional rigger or structural engineer prior to
suspending your loudspeaker.
Alternatively, you can place your DUETTO LIGHT on a standard 36 mm (1.4”) pole for mobile application in pubs or outdoor
concerts. Furthermore, you can use your loudspeaker as a wedge monitor using each package included brackets, to be easily
fitted and secured by screws.

OPERATIONS
In order to avoid unpleasant and dangerous noises, please turn on your DUETTO LIGHT amplifier last, after turning on
all the instruments, sources and mixer. At the end of the gig, please turn off your DUETTO LIGHT amplifier first, before
any other equipment.
In case of three (or more) DUETTO LIGHT daisy-chaining, please connect first (in alphabetical and connection order) the
amplifier output to unit “A”, then from “A” to “B” and finally “B” to unit “C”. After your session the unit you’ve to
disconnect first is the “C” unit, then “B” unit and finally “A” unit.
Before any installation, please check that DUETTO LIGHT amplifier(s) level knobs are set at minimum. If an amplifier level
is raised, please move it to its lower position, preventing in this way any noise which could damage your speakers.

Using power cable of the right size connect the amplifier outputs to DUETTO LIGHT 6.35 mm (¼”) and 4-pole speakON
IN. in case of daisy-chaining connect the LINK connector of first speaker to IN connector of second speaker, and so on.
Cables provided with 6.35 mm (¼”) are less expensive than cables equipped with SpeakON, which ensure a more reliable
connection and accept large size cables, allowing your cable to accept your amplifier full power! For these reasons we
suggest to purchase cables with speakON® connectors.

TIPS
The plastic cabinet is provided of built-in heavy-duty transportation handle. Use this handle for secure and easy transportation,
not for suspending your loudspeakers.
The choice of the amplifier must be based on DUETTO LIGHT power rating. For example, in case of a stereo amplifier feeding
two DUETTO LIGHT 8 the amplifier power should be 100 W. We strongly suggest to don’t use a less powerful amplifier!
In case of a more powerful amplifier be careful with level knobs settings. The same principle must be used daisy-chaining
four DUETTO LIGHT 8 (two for each side) – then amplifier must be rated @ 200 W.
In order to avoid overload, please carefully check the overall sound; hearing even a small saturation, please turn counterclockwise the mixer or amplifier knob, or the level knob of the source which is distorting. In order to prevent speakers
switch-on thump, please turn the amplifier level knob to its minimum position after every session, and check the amplifier
knob at its minimum position before starting any new session. We strongly suggest you to avoid exposition to loud music
for prolonged periods, you risk to seriously damage your hearing.

Floor Monitor Brackets
These brackets are help ful for DJ’s and bands to help monitor their sound during
a performance. This is also an alternative to standing the speaker straight up
or mounting it on a stand. These brackets slide into each end of the speaker.
Each speaker has its own special sized floor bracket.
