INTRODUCTION
The "SEK8" Series Vectaire Electric convection ovens are very
similar to the Vectaire ovens Montague has produced for years. The
most significant difference is that solid-state electronic controls
are used instead of the electro-mechanical ones commonly used. The
result is the most accurate, responsive and predictable oven we
have ever offered- and with the recognized dependability of solidÂstate components.
This special manual is meant to be used as a supplement to the main
"Vectaire Electric Convection Ovens" instruction manual, and should
be referenced first for special instructions.
INSTALLATION
Montague's general installation instructions should be followed. In
addition, since solid-state components have a very short life-span
when exposed to temperatures above 185 Degrees (F) (85 Degrees C),
certain installation precautions are necessary. The SE ovens have
been designed to operate well below this temperature when installed
properly, and the following cautions observed:
*************
CAUTION
*************
(1) Do not obstruct the flow of air out the vent holes at the top
of the oven, or the flow of fresh room air to the oven bottom
or lower front portion of the access cover.
(2) Do not mount the oven on a curb.
(3) When stacking ovens, never reverse the top and bottom ovens.
(4) Never stack an "SEK" Series Convection Oven with a standard
Vectaire or another brand of oven without first consulting the
factory. Certain ovens are not compatible or a stacking kit
may be required.

***SPECIAL CAUTION***
DO NOT PLACE HIGH-HEAT PRODUCING EQUIPMENT ADJACENT TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF AN "SEK" VECTAIRE
CONVECTION OVEN. EXCEEDING 185 DEGREES(F) (85 C) SURFACE TEMPERATURES CAN CAUSE PREMATURE
COMPONENT FAILURE NOT COVERED UNDER THE MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY.
Check For Damage
Check crates for handling damage. After carefully
uncrating, check for "concealed" damage. Report any damage
immediately to the carrier and dealer.
Assembly
Remove all packing material and accessories from oven
interior. Install door handle and secure with the screws that
are provided.
Models SEK8: If legs are provided (optional), tightly screw
the complete leg assembly into mounting holes at each corner
of the oven bottom. Set oven on counter top. When oven is in
permanent position, level entire unit by placing carpenter's
level on oven bottom and shim under low side. If legs are
used, level by adjusting feet on bottom of each leg.
Model 2SEK8: Set modular stand in place. Set oven on base.
Level by adjusting feet on legs. Then stack upper section on
lower section and fasten together using bracket on back of
oven sections.
Electrical Connection
Before making any electrical connections, check the name
plate for required voltage and phase. Field conversion
from 1 phase to 3 phase, or 3 phase to 1 phase should not
be attempted. The terminal block is located behind the
lower control panel on the front of the oven. Remove the
oven side panel for access to electrical box for
connection of the electrical supply. The oven must be
wired to ground using the terminal provided next to the
terminal block. Each section of the Model 2EK-8 has its
own separate electrical connection.

OPERATION
CONTROLS
STANDARD MODELS (SEK8A (N,0) Figure 2)
1. "FAN-OFF" switch controls the fan operation. It must be on for
power to be supplied to the elements. When the doors are
opened, the fan will stop.
2. The "0-1" switch turns on power to the temperature controller
and energizes the digital display.
3. THE CYCLE INDICATOR LIGHT becomes illuminated whenever the
control calls for more heat, and extinguishes when the control
is satisfied.
4. THE TIME-SET KNOB is used to set the amount of cooking time
desired.
5. The TEMPERATURE SET KNOB is used to set the desired cook
temperature.
6. KEY PAD CONTROLS. Standard models contain only two key-pads. A
start-Cancel-Timer key is used for starting the timer and
canceling the beep alarm, and a temp-key which will cause
measured oven temperature to appear in the display window when
depressed.
