This device is intended for indoor use only.
Do not expose this device to water or moisture of any kind. Do not place drinks or
other containers with moisture on or near the device. If moisture does get in or on
the device, immediately unplug it from the power outlet and allow it to fully dry
before reapplying power.
Do not touch the device, the power cord, or any other connected cables with wet
hands.
Prior to operation, check the unit and power cord for physical damage. Do not use if
physical damage has occurred.
This device uses a grounded power cord and requires a ground connection for safe
operation. Ensure that the power source has a proper ground connection. Do not
modify the plug or use a "cheater" plug to bypass the ground connection.
Take care to prevent damage to the power cord. Do not allow it to become
crimped, pinched, walked on, or become tangled with other cords. Ensure that the
power cord does not present a tripping hazard.
Use the power switch to turn the unit off before unplugging it from its power
source.
Never unplug the unit by pulling on the power cord. Always grasp the connector
head or adapter body.
Ensure that power is turned off and disconnected before making any electrical
connections.
Unplug from the AC circuit whenever the Wiring Fault LED illuminates.
Do not expose this device to excessively high temperatures. Do not place it in, on,
or near heat sources, such as a fireplace, stove, radiator, etc. Do not leave it in direct
sunlight.
Clean using a soft, dry cloth only. Do not use chemical cleaners, solvents, or
detergents. For stubborn deposits, moisten the cloth with warm water.
This device has no user serviceable parts. Do not attempt to open, service, or
modify this device.

INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing this Power Conditioner and Sequencer. This device provides two
groups of three AC power outlets for low-powered devices and one group of two AC
power outlets for high-powered devices. Each of these groups constitute a "zone", which is
sequentially powered on when power is applied. The sequence is reversed when the
sequencer is switched off. In addition to the EMI and RFI filtering on all three zones, the
conditioner checks for wiring faults and illuminates an LED indicator when the connected
AC circuit is improperly wired. It is rated for 15 amps and has a front panel circuit breaker,
two front panel unswitched and unfiltered AC power outlets, and LED fault indicators.
FEATURES
Two groups of three switched low-power AC outlets and one group of two
switched high-power AC outlets
Two unswitched and unfiltered front panel AC outlets
Each group constitutes a Zone, which is powered on sequentially, from Zone 1 to
Zone 3
Zones are powered off in reverse sequence, from Zone 3 to Zone 1
EMI and RFI filtering for all switched outlets
Front panel 15 amp circuit breaker
Removable rack mount ears and 1U rack height

POWER SEQUENCING
Power sequencing allows equipment to be powered up in stages, which gives equipment
time to idle before the next group of equipment is powered on. When powering down, the
sequence order is reversed.
There are many benefits to sequencing power, with the elimination of "speaker pop" being
the main one for AV applications. Speaker pop is the loud popping noise that occurs when
AV components are activated simultaneously or out of sequence. Speaker pop can stress
or damage sound system components, such as amplifiers and speakers. By delaying the
activation of the amplifiers until the low level equipment has had the opportunity to idle,
speaker pop is virtually eliminated.
Power sequencing is also useful in preventing breaker trips. Amplifiers have high in-rush
currents at power up. If multiple amplifiers are activated simultaneously, the in-rush
currents sum together and can exceed the capacity of the circuit, which can cause the
circuit breaker to trip. The 604830 will activate zones in 3 second intervals, eliminating
speaker pop and reducing the risk of tripping a circuit breaker. The order of activation is
reversed when deactivating, by turning off high-power devices first.
