Clean using a soft, dry cloth only. Do not use chemical cleaners, solvents, or
detergents. For stubborn deposits, moisten the cloth with warm water.
This monitor has no user serviceable parts. Do not open the case or otherwise
attempt to modify this monitor.
INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing this Touch Screen Monitor! This touch screen monitor features
two composite video inputs using BNC connectors and a pass-through composite BNC
video output. It also features HDMI® and VGA inputs, as well as pass-through audio input
and output. Usable out of the box as a capacitive type touch screen, it can be operated as
a resistive type touch screen by using the included drivers.

DOWN
Enters a submenu when the Main menu is displayed. Moves the menu

LEFT
Decreases the volume level when no menu is being displayed. Selects
the highlighted video input when the Input Selection menu is being
displayed. Decreases the selected value when in a submenu of the Main
menu.
RIGHT
Increases the volume level when no menu is being displayed. Selects the
highlighted video input when the Input Selection menu is being
displayed. Increases the selected value when in a submenu of the Main
menu.
MENU
Displays the Main menu when no menu is being displayed. Backs out of a
submenu when in a submenu of the Main menu. Saves the displayed
value when a value is being edited. Exits the Main menu when at the top
level of the Main menu.
VGA
Sets the video input to VGA.
YPbPr
Not used.
HDMI
Sets the video input to HDMI®.
AV
Sets the video input to AV1 when the VGA or HDMI inputs are in use.
Toggles between AV1 and AV2 when one or the other is selected.

MAIN MENU OPERATION
When the Main menu is not being displayed, press the MENU button to display the
top level of the Main menu.
When the top level of the Main menu is displayed, press the + and - buttons to
cycle among the three submenus (Picture, System, Function).
When the top level of the Main menu is displayed, press the AUTO button to select
the highlighted submenu.
When one of the three submenus is selected, press the AUTO button to cycle the
highlight down through the available options. When the bottom option is reached,
press the AUTO button to move the highlight back to the option at the top of the
submenu.
When an option in one of the three submenus is highlighted, press the + button to
increase the selected value and press the- button to decrease the selected value.
When one of the three submenus is selected or when an entry is being edited, press
the MENU button to back out to the previous menu level.
When the top level of the Main menu is displayed, press the MENU button to exit
the Main menu.
INPUT MENU OPERATION
When no menu is being displayed, press the AUTO button to display the Input
Selection menu.
When the Input Selection menu is being displayed, press the AUTO
button to cycle the highlight down through the available input
options. When the last option is highlighted, press the AUTO button
to move the highlight to the option at the top of the Input
Selection menu.
Press the + or - button to select the highlighted input option.
Note: The VGA option on model 15486 is labeled PC instead of VGA.

MONITOR STAND
Perform the one of the following sets of steps to install the base for the monitor stand.
Models 15481, 15483
1. Position the base on the stand, fitting the stand into the indentation on the base.
2. Use the stand thumbscrew to secure the base to the stand.
Model 15482, 15486
1. Position the base on the stand, with the lock hole at the back.
2. Press the base down on the stand until it clicks in place.
INSTALLATION
The monitor supports four video inputs, each of which can be connected. However, only a
single video connection is required, any additional video inputs can be used or not as
needed.
1. Ensure that all equipment that will be
connected is powered off and
unplugged from its power source.
2. Install the base onto the monitor stand
by following the instructions in the
Monitor Stand
the monitor onto a compatible wall or
desk mount.
3. Using the included VGA cable, plug one end into the VGA Video Input (8) on the
back of the monitor, then plug the other end into the VGA output of your source
section above, or mount
device (e.g., computer). Tighten the thumbscrews on each plug to secure them in
place.

4. (Optional) Using a High Speed HDMI® Cable (not included), plug one end into the
HDMI Video Input (9) on the back of the monitor, then plug the other end into the
HDMI output on your HDMI source device.
5. (Optional) Using a coaxial video cable with BNC connectors (not included), plug one
end into the BNC1/AV1 Video Input (7) on the back of the monitor, then plug the
other end into the BNC video output on your video source device.
6. (Optional) Using a coaxial video
cable with BNC connectors (not
included), plug one end into the
BNC2/AV2 Video Input (6) on the
back of the monitor, then plug
the other end into the BNC video
output on your video source
device.
7. (Optional) Using a coaxial video cable with BNC connectors (not included), plug one
end into the BNC/AV Video Output (5) on the back of the monitor, then plug the
other end into the BNC video input on your video output device (monitor, DVR,
etc.).
8. (Optional) Using a 3.5mm stereo audio cable, plug one end into the Audio Input (4)
on the back of the monitor, then plug the other into the audio output on your audio
source device.
9. (Optional) Plug your audio
output device (powered
speakers, headphones, etc.) into
the Audio Output (3) on the back
of the monitor.
10. Plug the USB Cable Lead (2) into
an available USB port on your
computer.
11. Plug the DC barrel connector on the included AC power adapter into the DC Input
Connector (1) on the back of the monitor.

12. Plug the included AC power
cable into the AC power adapter,
then plug the other end into a
nearby AC power outlet.
13. Plug in and power on all connected equipment.
14. If you will be using this as a Capacitive type touchscreen, you do not need to install
the drivers. If you will be using it as a Resistive type touchscreen, you will need to
install the drivers from the included Drivers CD or by downloading them from the
Monoprice.com website. Insert the CD in your CDROM driver, locate the folder that
matches your operating system, then launch the installer and follow the onscreen
directions to install the drivers. You may need to reboot afterwards.
Congratulations, you have successfully installed your new touchscreen monitor!
OSD MENU SYSTEM
Input Selection Menu
This menu allows for direct selection of one of the four input
options. Note that the monitor will not switch away from an unused
or inactive input, allowing you to continuously monitor an input for
activity.
Picture Menu
Contrast: Allows adjustment of image
contrast.
Brightness: Allows adjustment of image
brightness.
Hue: Not used.
Color: Allows adjustment of the color
saturation level.

Sharpness: Allows adjustment of image sharpness.
Color Temp.: Allows selection of one of the available color temperature settings. The
available options are Cool, Medium, Warm, and User.
Scale: Allows adjustment of the aspect ratio of the displayed image. The available
options are 4:3, 16:9, and PointToPoint.
Picture Mode: Allows selection of one of the picture setting presets or saved user
settings. The available options are Mild, Standard, Dynamic, and User.
System Menu
OSD Language: Allows selection of the
language used in the OSD menu system.
The available options are English and
Chinese.
OSD Duration: Allows you to set how long
the OSD menu will display without any
input before it automatically exits. You
can set it to between 10 and 100
seconds, in 10 second increments. You
can also set it OFF, which means that the OSD menu will stay on screen until it is
manually exited using the MENU button.
Menu Transparency: Allows you to control the opacity/transparency of the OSD menu.
The available options are Off (no transparency), Low, Middle, and High.
Backlight: Allows you set the brightness of the screen backlighting. You can set it from
0% (off) to 100% (maximum) in 10% increments.
Reset: Allows you to reset all monitor settings to the factory defaults.

Function Menu
Color Range: When enabled, this option
allows you to adjust the image color
temperature. (HDMI only)
Noise Reduction: This option allows you to
enable digital noise reduction. When set
to Off or Default, no noise reduction is
made. When set to Low, very little noise reduction occurs and the image may have
a lot of noise. When set to High, maximum noise reduction occurs and the image
should have minimal noise. The Middle option is a compromise between the two
extremes. (AV1 and AV2 only)
ID Set: Not used.
Screen: Opens a submenu, which allows you to adjust the screen Horizontal Position,
Vertical Position, Size, and Phase. (VGA only)
Auto Adjust: Automatically sets the screen position, size, and phase. (VGA only)
Update (USB): Not used
Horizontal Pos.: Adjusts the horizontal
position of the image on the screen.
(VGA only)
Vertical Pos.: Adjusts the vertical position
of the image on the screen. (VGA only)
Size: Adjusts the image size. (VGA only)
Phase: Allows adjustment of the phase. (VGA only)

TROUBLESHOOTING
Following are some common problems and possible solutions. If you cannot solve a
problem yourself, please contact Monoprice Technical Support for assistance.
Q: The power LED is off.
A: Verify that the power adapter is plugged into the monitor. Verify that the power cord
is plugged into both the AC adapter and the power outlet. Verify that the power
outlet is live by plugging something else into it, such as a lamp.
Q: The picture is weak, washed out, or over saturated.
A: Adjust the Brightness and/or Contrast.
Q: The image flashes or distorts.
A: Verify that there are no nearby sources or Radio Frequency or Electromagnetic
Interference (RFI or EMI).
Q: The power LED is glowing blue, but the display is blank.
A: Press a key on the keyboard to ensure the computer is not asleep or that a screen
saver is active. Verify that the proper input is selected. Verify that the display cable is
securely attached to both the display and the video source. Replace the cable with
another of the same type to verify that it is not faulty.
Q: One of the primary colors (red, green, or blue) is missing.
A: Replace the video cable with another of the same type. Connect to a different video
source to verify that there are no problems with the video card or source device.
Q: The colors are not correct.
A: Adjust the color temperature.
