Therewillbe somesmokeand odor;thisisnormal.It isnon­toxicandcompletelyharmless. Heatingoftheelementwill changethestainlesssteelelement trimringsandtemperature sensorstoa goldcolor.

Theuseofyoursolidelement cooktopisquitesimilartothatof anelectriccoil cooktop,with whichyouprobablyarefamiliar. Withbothtypesyouwillenjoythe cleanlinessofelectricityandthe benefitsof retainedheatinthe elements.However,thereare differences.
