Important
Read the manual carefully before using the cycle and
save it for future use.

The year was 1910.
It was then the first Kroon bike was manufactured.
The location was Vansbro in Dalarna.
Today, Monark has taken over production of Kroon transport bikes and
specialized bikes.
Design, development and manufacturing are still in Vansbro in an ultramodern factory, in which, the Monark world leader ergometer bikes also are
produced. It is a genuine craftmanship, quality thinking and proud traditions
that characterize the classical cycle
Monark bike is a good hard worker, a workhorse that can withstand hard
and tough and ensures long life.
Monark's bike is a unique product that is available in a variety of designs.
Everything from the good old errand-boy's model, scooters, flatbed bikes,
handicap bikes, tandem bikes to the famous post man's bike.
The Monark bike is an affordable, reliable and smart transportation for those
who are in need of simple, fast and efficient deliveries.

Congratulations on your new kickbike!
You have purchased a quality product that we are confident that
you will get great pleasure from.
Even quality products require maintenance and must be checked
and adjusted periodically. If you do that, you get more joy out of your
kickbike for a long time and, above all, safety in order.
This manual gives you a set of general guidelines for setting,
adjustment and maintenance. Before using your kickbike, please read
this manual.
This manual is not model specific, so we ask you to refer to the text
related to your kickbike.
If you are unsure, ask your dealer and / or let they maintain your
kickbike. Under all circumstances we recommend that you let your
dealer maintain and repair all vital parts of the kickbike.

Assembly
Assemble your kickbike according to the installation
instructions for your specific model, see pages 7-9.
The handlebar stem must be recessed
so that the height position mark is not
visible.
Stem
(expander bolt)
Handlebar adjustment
Handlebar assembled on a traditional stem is raised
and lowered by loosening the expander bolt on the
stem and unscrew it about 5 mm. Tap the expander
bolt using a plastic mallet to loosen the expander cone.
The handlebar can now be set to the desired position.
Tighten the expander bolt when the handlebar is in
place. See Fig: Handlebar adjustment.
Note! It is important that the MAX / STOP mark on
the stem is not exceeded. In addition to the security
risk, the frame can be damaged.

Safety precautions
Check your kickbike regularly, partly to make any
necessary adjustments, and partly to familiarize
yourself with the bike.
Screws and nuts
All screws and nuts must be re-tightened at regular
intervals. Pay particular attention to wheel nuts.
Brakes
Check the brakes before each use.
Front fork and Frame
Check that the front fork and frame are not deformed.
At the first sign of damage, contact immediately a
professional for check.
Wheels
Spin the wheels and make sure they are not warped
or otherwise damaged. Check that the front wheel is
securely attached. Lift up the front of the bike and
hit the top of the tyre with your hand. If there is any
movement, check attachment. Feel for play in the
bearings by rocking the wheels back and forth.
Handlebar
Ensure that the handlebars and handlebar stem are
securely tightened. Replace worn grips and make sure
that they are securely attached to the handlebars and
cannot be rotated. The handlebar stem must not be
positioned so that the "MAX" mark is visible!
Steering head bearing
The lock nut must be tightened and the steering-head
bearing must not have any play. The handlebars must
move freely.

the above points or if in doubt about the function of
any of the parts.
Braking technique
1. Adapt your speed and distance in relation to other
vehicles, so that you are able to brake to a standstill
safely, even in variable conditions.
2. Remember that the largest proportion of the
braking effect comes from the front brake. Crossbraking using only the front brake can result in that
the rear wheel are lifting and you can risk losing
control of the kickbike and you can fall.
3. A loaded kickbike takes longer time to brake! If
you pack full of goods on the kickbike, remember
to start braking earlier than normal and to dispense
braking performance carefully, so that you always
have control of the kickbike with the load. Also
remember that the steering response and balance are
affected with loads on the kickbike.
Find out the maximum load for your kickbike and
never overload your kickbike!
4. If any of the following occurs, stop immediately
using your kickbike and consult a professional for
check and repair.
• If any unusual noises are heard when the brakes
are in use.
• If the braking effect is unusually strong.
• If the braking effect is unusually weak.
User instructions
To think of
We recommend that you keep both hands on the
handlebars while using your kickbike. This is for that
kickbikes can have a tendency to become wobbly if
you only have one hand on the handlebars.

Maintenance
Steering head bearing
Any play in the steering-head bearing must be
remedied immediately. If adjustments are not made
immediately, abnormal wear to the component parts
can occur. There are many reasons for play in the
bearings but it is usually due to wear or because
something has broken. These bearings should be
repaired and adjusted by a professional. Ask the
professional to check and lubricate this if you are
leaving in your kickbike for a service check.
General care advice
Always keep your kickbike clean. Use eco-marked
degreasers to remove oil-mixed dirt. Do not use a
high-pressure washer on the kickbike! Pressure washer
may not be used! Use a cloth and a rust inhibitor.
This breaks down the dirt and protects from rust. It
is important to use a rust inhibitor to protect chrome
and zinc coated parts, the paint will also benefit from
the same protection. It also makes the next clean
easier.
It is also important that control cables and other
moving parts are always well lubricated. Check
all screws and nuts are properly tightened. It is
recommended to clean, surface-treat and lubricate the
kickbike once a year.
V-brake
Make sure that both brake pads are in position against
the wheel, as shown in Fig: Adjustment V-brake. If
you need to roughly adjust brake pads mode, this is
done by loosening the retaining screw(1). The distance
between the rim and brake pads should be about 1
mm. The distance can be fine tuned with the brake
lever adjusting screw(2) which is then locked with the
lock nut(3). If there is a problem to set the distance,
you first make a rough adjustment of the cable. This
is done by loosening the cable screw(4) and stretching
the cable.
If the brake pads emit a noise, they should be adjusted
by a professional. Be sure to replace the brake pads
if necessary and lubricate all moving parts regularly.
Some of the models in the program are equipped
with stainless steel cables in a plastic sleeve. These do
not require lubrication. The kickbikes which have a
different type of cable must be lubricated at regular
intervals. Detach the cable and drop gently in a little
oil along the cable into the outer casing.
