purposes than originally intended, if it is not correctly connected or operated or not repaired in an
expert way.

If the camera and the power supply unit are to be
put out of operation definitively, take them to a local
recycling plant for a disposal which is not harmful to
the environment.
3 Applications
In combination with a 2.4 GHz receiver of the
MONACOR “AV-...R” series and a monitor, the wireless B/W camera AV-3010CCD with integrated electret microphone serves for wireless video surveillance.
The transmission range largely depends on the
local conditions. Without any obstacles between the
camera and the receiver, the maximum range is
500 m. However, in buildings it is reduced to approx.
50 m by walls and ceilings, depending on their condition. By using an antenna with gain at the receiver,
the range can be increased many times over.
3.1 Approval
According to the R+TTE directive (Radio and Telecommunication Technical Equipment), the approval
for the camera is valid in the countries of the European Union. For operation in countries outside the
EU, please contact your retailer or the MONACOR
subsidiary in the country where this unit will be
operated.
4 Operation
4.1 Placing the camera and the receiver
Practical experience has shown that an optimum
reception is achieved when placing the units at a
height of minimum 1.5 m to 2 m above the ground.
Prior to final mounting, a trial run is recommended as
the transmission quality can be substantially changed
by displacing the camera and the receiver by a few
centimetres only.
4.2 Mounting
For mounting the camera, a support is supplied with
the camera. Install the support at a suitable location
by means of the supplied screws and dowels; then
screw the camera to the support via the 6.3 mm
thread (
1
/4") jack (position 6 in fig. 2).
4.3 Channel selection
The wireless transmission is made in the 2.4 GHz
range which has been divided by the manufacturer
into five channels with a distance of 14 MHz. As a
maximum, three channels can be used simultaneously (channels 1, 3, and 5) as two adjacent channels will interfere with each other. The following channel selection is recommended:
for two cameras: channels 1 and 5
for three cameras: channels 1, 3, and 5
Use the key “+” or “
-
” (5) to adjust the transmitter to the
desired channel. The selected channel is displayed in
the window between the two adjusting keys. (No signal
will be transmitted if channel 0 or channels 6 – 9 are selected.) Adjust the receiver to the same channel.
4.4 Power supply
For power supply, use the supplied power supply unit
or another 12 V power source.
1) Set the output voltage on the power supply unit to
12 V. Slide the switch SPANNUNG (7) fully to the
left to position “12”.
2) Eight adapters are supplied with the power supply
unit. Choose the adapter with the identification letter “E” and the lettering “5.5 X 2.1” (10) and connect it to the inline jack (9) of the power supply unit
in such a way that the lettering “5.5 X 2.1” and the
arrow of the inline jack face each other (see fig. 3).
3) Use the adapter to connect the power supply unit
to the low voltage jack (2) of the camera.
4) Connect the power supply unit to a mains socket
(230 V~/50Hz). The power LED (8) lights up and
the camera is switched on. After operation, disconnect the power supply unit from the mains socket.
