1. Product Description
The D14 product line is the first dual camera dome series, based on the new processor platform that will completely
replace the D12 product line. Objective is to have improved performance, features and functionality.
Key Features of the MOBOTIX D14 Dual Dome product line:

The D14 is quite flexible in terms of sensor and lenses. It consists of the D14 body and the D14 sensor module, which
can be ordered separately. Like with the D12, D14 sensor type and configuration can be changed afterwards.

2.1. Product Image
The D14 product line will be nearly identical to the D12 product line, consisting of SEC, IT and 180 degree version. For
all differences between D12 and D14 please refer to chapter 2.2.

As the D14 product line will be nearly identical to the D12 product line, the major differences are seen only from the
inside. D14 is based on the P3 platform plus video acceleration chipset. Therefore the major difference is processing
power resulting in higher maximum frame rates in all resolutions. Other important differences are the interfaces.
The D14 does not have the HD-15 plug anymore, which means no direct connection to RS232, IOs and backup
power pin. This should be considered in system designs. Most interfaces can be replaced with USB, MxBus or will
be realized with individual add-on modules (MiniIO, Sound Box, etc.) in the future. Also as ISDN will be switched off
in most countries between 2012 and 2015, this will not be supported anymore. For details see below:

2.4. D12 EOL and D14 Transition
You need to be aware that the D12 will be EOL with the launch of the new D14. If you have any projects with D12
specified, which can not be switched to D14, please inform your MOBOTIX sales contact (ISM or BDM) immediately.
EOL and Transfer Scenario for Americas looks like the following:
1. Orders of D12 are accepted until 14th of June.
2. Last shipments of D12 will be executed until 24th of June.
3. New orders of D14 will be accepted from 15th of June onwards.
4. First shipments of D14 are scheduled for 28th of June.
In the case of D12s out of stock, D12 orders will be changed into D14 orders.

4. Things to be Aware Of
4.1. Outdoor Installation
In order to ensure that condensation water does not accumulate in D14 cameras mounted in outdoor
environments or in areas with high changes in temperature, the cameras must be installed with the PIR sensor
pointing downwards. This will allow any humidity to escape through the condensation relief holes in the outer
shell.
Failing to follow these instructions will void the warranty!
4.2. Usage of original MOBOTIX cables
In order to ensure the enduring water proofness of the cable cover, you must not use any other cables for the
Ethernet and USB connection but MOBOTIX cables.
MOBOTIX also offer extended RJ-45 patch cables with 1, 2, 5 or 10 m length. For order codes and prices, please
