A. Introduction
The MK Sentry and Commando Combinations unit factory built assemblies
(FBA) are routine tested by MK to the requirements of BS EN 60439-3. The
performance of the routine tests by MK Electric limited does not relieve the
installer of the FBA from the duty of checking the units after transport and
installation.
B. Safety Instructions
1. It is essential that prior to installation or maintenance the user / installer
disconnects the supply before commencing work.
2. The factory built assembly should be installed by a competent person
( i.e. a qualified electrician ) in accordance with the instructions contained
within this leaflet, the Sentry or Commando Combination unit instructions,
any separate leaflet supplied for the DIN rail mounted devices and in
accordance with the current edition of the wiring regulations.
3. It is essential that all connections are made as instructed, that cables are
not stressed.
4. The installer must take the necessary precautions to ensure that the IP
rating of the unit is maintained, at the required level.
5. Where the unit is supplied pre wired, the installer should ensure that all the
connections are fully tightened.
6. Leave all instruction leaflets supplied with End User. ( A wallet is provided
with Sentry Consumer units)
C. RCD fitted units
A separate RCD instruction leaflet is provided with all MK Sentry and
Commando Combinations units fitted with an RCD. This leaflet pro vides
specific details for the installation and operation of the RCD .
The RCD unit must be regularly tested ( quarterly ) to ensure correct
operation.
D. Installation Check List
When installation is completed make sure all screws are securely tightened
including ( where applicable ) :-
1. Incoming supply cable terminal screws.
2. Outgoing sub/circuit terminal screws.
3. Busbar screws.
4. Neutral link screws.
5. Neutral terminal bar screws.
6. Earth terminal bar screws.
7. Earth bar fixing screws.
8. External earth terminal screws.
9. DIN rail mounting fixing screws.
