1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the MIXVIBES U46MK2.

The U46MK2 is an ideal mobile recording interface for both laptops and desktop computers. It offers a 4-in, 6-out multi-channel audio interface with a separate Mix output. Two Phono inputs make the unit a perfect portable solution for digital DJs, compatible with all current major DJ software applications.

The U46MK2’s flexible 4 inputs enable you to record from a variety of sources. There are 2 Phono inputs, 2 stereo Line inputs, and a MIC input with +48V phantom power and Hi-Z (E.Guitar) input.

Six line level analog outputs allow you to connect the U46MK2 to various external devices or to a 5.1 surround system. A separate Mix output and headphone output allow you to monitor your inputs and outputs directly. The U46MK2 offers all these features in metal casing that can travel with you anywhere.

Even if you are an experienced professional, please take some time to read through this user manual and familiarize yourself with the U46MK2’s features and operation. You may also want to refer to your audio software’s documentation to better understand how the U46MK2’s features are integrated with your program. A good knowledge of your audio software will help you to get the best out of your U46MK2.

2. Description of the U46MK2

2.1. Front Panel

(1) Channel 1/2 input connector

- Input source (MIC/LINE/PHONO) selector: This is where you select input sources of

channel 1/2.

- MIC input connector: Connect your Microphone to this Balanced 1/4” connector.

- +48V Phantom power switch: Supply +48V DC phantom power to input channels 1/2 simultaneously by pressing the button

- Gain control for MIC input: Control input level of microphone

(2) Channel 3/4 input connector

- Input source (Hi-Z/LINE/PHONO) selector: This is where you select input sources of channel 3/4.

- Hi-Z input connector: Connect an electric guitar or bass guitar to this unbalanced 1/4” connector. Only unbalanced 1/4” phone jack connection is available for this setting.

- Gain control for Hi-Z input: Control the input level of the E.guitar input

(3) Headphone output with Headphone volume control: Monitor all input sources and

output sources through the headphone output. Output level can be adjusted with the control knob.

2.2. Rear Panel

(1) External Power supply connector:

If you use a microphone that requires phantom power, especially with a laptop computer, it’s strongly recommended to use a DC +9V/500mA adapter (not included). When you turn on the U46MK2 or when you turn on/off phantom power, the current peak level might go over 500mA.

(2) USB connector: Connects the USB cable to the computer.

(3) Input 1~4: The turntable inputs and line level inputs share the same connectors. The

RCA turntable inputs feed an RIAA equalized preamp designed to accept moving magnet type phono cartridges.

(4) Output 1~6: You can use these outputs to connect to various external devices or to a 5.1

surround system.

(5) Mix output: You can monitor all input sources and output sources through the Mix output.

Usually, you can use Mix out to connect to powered monitor speakers.

(6) Ground plug: When you use a turntable, connect the ground lead from your turntable to

the ground plug to help preventing hum.

2.3. Connection with external devices

The U46MK2 allows various multimedia uses. This means that there are many different ways to connect other devices to the U46MK2. The below figure describes which devices can be connected to the U46MK2.

3. Hardware Installation

3.1. Minimum system requirements

Intel Pentium III 600MHz CPU or equivalent AMD CPU

256MB of RAM

Direct X 8.1 or higher

Microsoft Windows® XP or Windows® Vista, Mac OSX.

One available USB port

3.2. Installation

Before proceeding to driver installation, please locate your original Windows CD, as you may need it during installation. If you have a motherboard with a new chipset, please install the most recent patches provided by your motherboard or chipset manufacturers.

Locate an available USB port on your computer. A sample USB port is pictured below. It is typically located next to the PS/2 or serial ports on the back of your computer.

Plug the U46MK2’s USB cable (Series A plug type) into the USB port of your computer.

Turn on the U46MK2’s power button. After that, you will see a power led switch on, on the U46MK2’s front panel. The U46MK2 gets the power from the computer via a USB cable. You can also use an external Power supply if you have one.

Important Note

Some of your computer USB ports may not recognize the U46 mk2. In this case, simply try to connect the device to another USB port.

4. Driver Installation

After connecting and powering the U46MK2, your computer will automatically detect the U46MK2 as a USB Composite Device and will proceed with the installation.

1. To confirm the installation of the U46MK2, go to “Start-> Settings-> Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager”. Confirm that two (2) instances of “USB Audio Device” are listed under ‘Sound, video and game controllers’ and that one (1) “USB Composite Device” is listed under “Universal Serial Bus controllers”.

2. Check your system. Go to: Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices -> Audio

Please check that your audio devices are installed properly.

Important note

Due to the limitations of the USB 1.1 driver, audio output at 48 kHz sample rate is limited to 4 channels. If you need better audio quality and don’t need all 6 outputs, you can choose the 48 kHz sample rate. If your setup requires all 6 outputs, you must choose the 44.1 kHz sample rate.

3. Install the U46MK2 driver. Insert the MIXVIBES driver CD in your CD Rom drive. Just click the “setup” icon. After that, if you see the message below, simply click “Yes.”

4. Click “Next” and follow the instructions on the screen.

5. The icon should appear in the system tray of the task bar.

After the installation of the U46MK2 is complete, you will see the

con in the Windows

system tray. Click on it to open the panel interface.

5.1. Menu bar

The upper menu bar of the U46MK2 panel interface gives you access to the advanced settings of your device.

(1) File – Close Window

Close the interface

(2) File – Exit

Exit the interface. It will still be accessible from the windows system tray.

(1) Config – Mouse Wheel

Sets the speed of your mouse wheel for input/output levels adjustments.

(2) Config – Latency

Sets the latency for your U46MK2. A typical value is 256 samples.

(3) Config – Factory Default

Resets the settings to factory default.

(4) Config – Always on Top

Allows you to keep the interface on top of other applications.

(5) Config – SampleRate

Sets the sample rate (44100 Hz or 48000 Hz).

(6) Config – Buffer Number

Allows you to specify the number of buffers in order to diminish or improve latency and system stability.

Direct WIRE allows you to connect the INs and OUTs of your various audio devices and audio drivers.

Example: In this case, the outputs of the MME drivers are connected to the inputs of the ASIO drivers of the U46MK2. Thus the sound played by the MME drivers can be recorded in ASIO mode.

5.2. Input Section

(1) Input

This is where you can increase the input level of the analog input 1/2. The input level 3/4 is fixed at 0dB. The number on the bottom indicates the relative level in dB.

(2) Input source display

This is where you can check current input source selected by the input source selector on the front panel of U46MK2.

(3) Monitor

This is where you can adjust the input monitoring level of U46MK2. Set the level using the mouse, mouse wheel, or cursor keys. The number on the bottom indicates the relative level in

dB. You can also select mute button to mute each monitoring input source.

5.3. Output Section

(1) Output 1/2, 3/4, 5/6

You can individually change the levels of all output channels by clicking and dragging the fader bars. The number on the bottom shows the relative amount in dB. You can also select mute button to mute each output channel.

(2) Master Output

You can adjust all input / output monitoring levels by clicking and dragging the Master fader. Again, the number on the bottom shows you the relative monitoring level in dB. You can also select the mute button to mute all output channels.

6. Application Setup

This chapter contains basic configuration example with the MixVibes CROSS LE DJ Software. Please also refer to the manual of the audio software you use for detailed information.

Important note

6.1. Windows® Multimedia setup

The Windows Multimedia setup is required if you want to use your U46MK2 system as the main sound device for Windows multimedia applications. Go to “My computer-> Control panel -> Sounds and Audio Device Properties -> Audio”. Select the U46MK2 driver as your playback and recording device.

Important note

You must not use the same ASIO driver at the same time otherwise a sample rate error will occur. For example, if you set the ‘U46MK2’ as your windows multimedia playback device, you should not choose a different ASIO driver for your audio application. Otherwise the setup might fail when Windows sound scheme is played.

6.2. Latency setting on ASIO applications

Clicking the ASIO Control Panel button (or Config) of ASIO applications will open the ASIO latency setting of the U46MK2. Run the Config/Latency menu to set the audio latency. Here you can choose between different buffer sizes. Typically a lower latency is good when working with software synthesizers or when you process audio signals from the audio inputs in realtime with your audio software. A smaller latency value will however cause more system load.

For a typical faster Pentium 4 system, 128 ~ 256 are good values. Buffer sizes 1024 and 2048 are normally used only in special circumstances. The factory default of 512 samples provides a basic level of compatibility with different systems.

6.3. MixVibes CROSS LE

The U46MK2 includes the full version of MixVibes CROSS LE. Once CROSS LE is installed and launched, open the “File -> Preferences” menu and select the Audio panel as shown below:

Again, due to the limitations of the USB 1.1 driver, audio output at 48 kHz sample rate is limited to 4 channels. If you need better audio quality and don’t need all 6 outputs, you can choose a 48 kHz sample rate. If your setup requires all 6 outputs, you must choose the 44.1 kHz sample rate.

Important note

The U46MK2 is fully compatible with MixVibes HOME, CROSS LE, DVS and DVS PRO.

1. Introduction

Merci d’avoir choisi l’U46MK2 de MIXVIBES.

L’U46MK2 est une interface d’enregistrement mobile idéale aussi bien pour les ordinateurs de bureau que les portables. Elle offre une interface audio multi canal 4 entrées 6 sorties avec une sortie Mix séparée. Ses 2 entrées Phonos en font la solution portable parfaite pour les DJs numériques, elle est d’ailleurs compatible avec la majeure partie des logiciels de DJing.

Les 4 différentes options d’entrée de l’U46MK2 vous permettent d’enregistrer à partir de sources variées. Il y a 2 entrées Phonos et 2 entrées Lignes stéréos, une entrée MIC avec alimentation fantôme +48V et une entrée Hi-Z (pour les Guitares et Basses Electriques).

De plus, 6 sorties lignes analogiques vous permettent de vous connecter à d’autres matériels ou à un ensemble surround 5.1. La sortie Mix séparée et la sortie casque vous permettent d’écouter directement les entrées et les sorties. L’U46MK2 offre toutes ces fonctionnalités dans un résistant boîtier que vous pourrez transporter partout où vous irez.

Même si vous êtes un professionnel expérimenté, prenez le temps de lire ce manuel afin de vous familiariser avec les caractéristiques et la mise en œuvre de l’U46MK2. Il est également préférable de consulter la documentation de vos logiciels AUDIO pour mieux comprendre la manière dont l’U46MK2 y sera intégrée. 2. Description de l’U46MK2

2.1. Panneau Avant

(1) Connecteur des canaux d’entrée 1/2

- Sélecteur de source d’entrée (MIC/LINE/PHONO): avec ce sélecteur vous choisissez le type de source branchée sur les canaux d’entrée 1/2.

- Connecteur d’entrée MIC: Connectez votre microphone sur cette entrée jack symétrique

- Commutateur de l’alimentation fantôme +48V: En pressant ce bouton, vous appliquez l’alimentation fantôme DC +48V sur les canaux d’entrées 1/2.

- Potentiomètre de contrôle du gain de l’entrée MIC: Contrôle le niveau d’entrée du

microphone.

(2) Connecteur des canaux d’entrée 3/4

- Sélecteur de source d’entrée (Hi-Z/LINE/PHONO): avec ce sélecteur vous choisissez le type de source branchée sur les canaux d’entrée 3/4.

- Connecteur de l’entrée Hi-Z: Connectez votre guitare ou votre basse électrique sur cette entrée jack 6"35 asymétrique. L’entrée Hi-Z dispose uniquement d’une connectique jack 6"35 asymétrique.

- Potentiomètre de contrôle du gain de l’entrée Hi-Z: Contrôle le niveau d’entrée de la

guitare ou de la basse électrique.

(3) Sortie casque avec contrôle de volume: assure le monitoring direct de toutes les

sources d’entrée et de sortie. Le niveau de sortie peut être réglé à l’aide du potentiomètre.

2.2. Panneau Arrière

(1) Connecteur pour l’adaptateur secteur:

Si vous utilisez un microphone nécessitant l’alimentation fantôme, surtout avec un ordinateur portable, il est vivement recommandé d’utiliser un adaptateur secteur DC +9V/500mA (non fourni). Quand vous allumez l’U46MK2 ou quand vous éteignez ou allumez l’alimentation fantôme, l’intensité peut atteindre un niveau de crête de 500mA.

(2) Connecteur USB: permet de relier l’U46MK2 à un ordinateur via un câble USB (fourni).

(3) Entrées 1~4: Les entrées Phonos (Platine disque) et les entrées lignes partagent les

mêmes connecteurs. Les entrées Phonos RCA alimentent un préamplificateur RIAA compatible avec les cellules de platine disque.

(4) Sorties 1~6: Vous pouvez utiliser ces sorties pour vous connecter à d’autres matériels

(table de mixage) ou à un ensemble DVD surround 5.1.

(5) Sortie Mix: Vous pouvez écouter toutes les sources d’entrée et de toutes les sorties via

cette sortie. En général, on utilise cette sortie pour brancher des enceintes de monitoring amplifiées.

(6) Point de masse: Quand vous utilisez une platine disque, Connectez la prise terre de votre

platine disque au point de masse de l’U46MK2 pour ne pas avoir de bourdonnement dans le son (Effet de masse).

2.3. Connexion à des périphériques externes

L’U46MK2 est une partie d’un système multimédia audio numérique vous permettant divers utilisations. Cela signifie qu’il y a différentes manières de connecter votre matériel à l’U46MK2. L’illustration ci-dessous décrit les possibilités de connexion que vous offre l’U46MK2.

3. Installation matérielle

3.1. Configuration minimale requise

3.2. Installation

Avant l’installation des pilotes, veuillez vous munir du CD d’installation original de Windows, vous pourriez en avoir besoin pendant l’installation. Veillez, également, à installer la dernière mise à jour de votre carte mère ou de votre chipset.

Trouvez un port USB disponible sur votre ordinateur. Un exemple de port USB est illustré cidessous. Il est généralement placé à proximité du port PS/2 ou du port série à l’arrière de votre PC.

Branchez le câble USB (Prise Type A) de l’U46MK2 sur le port USB de votre ordinateur.

Allumez l’U46MK2. Une LED doit s’allumer sur la face avant de l’U46MK2. L’U46MK2 est alimenté par l’ordinateur via le câble USB. Vous pouvez également utiliser une alimentation externe (non fournie).

Note Importante

Il est possible que tous les ports USB de votre ordinateur ne soient pas capables de reconnaître l’U46MK2. Le cas échéant, essayez de la connecter à un autre port USB de votre ordinateur.

4. Installation des pilotes

Après avoir connecté et allumé l’U46MK2, votre ordinateur va automatiquement détecter l’U46MK2 comme un périphérique USB Composite et procédera à son installation.

1. Pour vérifier l’installation de U46MK2, allez dans ‘Démarrez->Paramètres-> Panneau de configuration -> Système -> Onglet ‘Matériel’ -> Gestionnaire de périphériques’. Vérifiez que les 2 “Périphérique Audio USB” apparaissent bien dans la section ‘Contrôleurs son, vidéo et jeu’ et que “Périphérique Composite USB” apparaissent bien dans la section ‘Contrôleurs de bus USB’.

2. Vérifiez votre système. Allez dans: Panneau de configuration > Sons et Périphériques Audio > Onglet ‘Audio’ et vérifiez que votre périphérique audio est correctement installé.

Note importante

Du fait des limitations des pilotes de l’USB 1.1, les sorties à 48 kHz sont limitées à 4 canaux. Si vous avez besoin d’une qualité audio supérieure et que vous n’avez pas besoin des 6 sorties, vous pouvez choisir la fréquence d’échantillonnage de 48 kHz. Mais si votre travail nécessite 6 sorties vous devez choisir 44.1 kHz.

2. Installez le pilote propre à l’U46MK2. Insérez le CD des pilotes dans votre lecteur de CD Rom. Cliquez simplement sur l’icône “setup”. Quand le message suivant apparaît, cliquez sur “Next”

3. Cliquez sur “Next” et suivez les instructions à l’écran.

4. Maintenant, veuillez vérifier que l’icône est bien visible en bas à droite dans la barre des tâches de Windows (à gauche de l’heure).

5. Le panneau de contrôle de l’U46MK2

Après avoir correctement installé l’U46MK2, vous pouvez voir l’icône

dans la barre des

tâches de Windows. En cliquant dessus, vous ouvrez le panneau de contrôle de l’U46MK2.

5.1. Barre des menus

Le panneau de contrôle de l’U46MK2 possède un menu qui contient les informations de configuration.

(1) File – Close Window (Fichier – Fermeture de la fenêtre)

Remet le panneau de contrôle de l’U46MK2 dans la barre des taches de Windows.

(2) File – Exit (Fichier – Sortir)

Ce menu ferme le panneau de contrôle mais ne le quitte pas, il reste accessible via l’icône ‘ESI’ dans la barre des tâches de Windows.

(1) Config – Mouse Wheel (Configuration – molette souris)

Règle la vitesse de la molette de la souris pour le réglage des gains sur le panel board

(2) Config – Latency (Configuration - Latence)

Choisissez à quelle latence votre U46MK2 sera règlée. Il est conseillé de fixer la latence de départ à 256.

(3) Config – Factory Default (Configuration – panel par défault)

Réinitialise le panel board à sa configuration initiale.

(4) Config – Always on Top (Configuration – Always on Top)

Vous permet de garder le panel board toujours en premier plan.

(5) Config – SampleRate (Configuration – Fréquence d’échantillonnage)

Choisissez votre taux d’échantillonnage. Soit 44100Hz ou 48000Hz.

(6) Config – Buffer Number (Configuration – Taille du Buffer)

Permet d’agrandir la taille du buffer et ainsi augmenter ou diminuer la latence pour un système plus stable.

Le Direct WIRE vous permet de connecter les entrées et sorties de votre carte son et des différents pilotes entre eux.

Exemple : Sur le schéma ci-dessous, la sortie (OUT) des pilotes MME sera connectée à l’entrée ASIO de votre carte. Ainsi le son joué par les pilotes MME pourra être enregistré en ASIO.

5.2. Les entrées

(1) INPUT (ENTREE)

C’est l’endroit ou vous pouvez contrôler le niveau des entrées analogiques 1/2. Le niveau des entrées 3/4 est fixé à 0dB. Le nombre, sur le bouton, indique le niveau relatif en dB.

(2) Input source display

Permet de connaître le type de source d’entrée sélectionnée via l’interrupteur en face avant de l’U46MK2.

(3) MONITOR (ECOUTE)

Ici, vous pouvez régler le niveau d’entrée de monitoring de l’U46MK2. Spécifiez le niveau à l’aide de la souris, de la molette de la souris, ou des flèches du clavier. Le nombre en bas

indique le niveau relatif en dB. Vous pouvez également utiliser le bouton pour désactiver l’écoute des entrées.

5.3. Les sorties

(1) OUTPUT (SORTIE) 1/2, 3/4, 5/6

Vous pouvez changer séparément les niveaux de tous les canaux de sortie en faisant glisser les différents curseurs. Le nombre en bas indique le niveau relatif en dB. Vous pouvez

également utiliser le bouton pour rendre muet chaque canal de sortie.

(2) MASTER (PRINCIPAL)

Vous pouvez ajuster le niveau d’écoute de toutes les entrées/sorties en faisant glisser le curseur principal (MASTER). Le nombre en bas indique le niveau relatif en dB. Vous pouvez

également utiliser le bouton pour rendre muets tous les canaux de sortie.

6. Configuration des applications

Ce chapitre contient un exemple de configuration des applications logiciels : ici MixVibes CROSS LE. N’hésitez pas à vous référer au manuel d’utilisation du logiciel que vous utilisez pour obtenir des informations plus détaillées.

Note importante

Du fait des limitations des pilotes de l’USB 1.1, les sorties à 48 kHz sont limitées à 4 canaux. Si vous avez besoin d’une qualité audio supérieure et que vous n’avez pas besoin des 6 sorties vous pouvez choisir la fréquence d’échantillonnage de 48 kHz. Mais si votre travail nécessite 6 sorties vous devez choisir 44.1 kHz.

6.1. Configuration multimédia de Windows

La configuration multimédia de Windows est requise si vous voulez utiliser votre U46MK2 comme matériel audio principal dans les applications multimédia de Windows. Aller dans Menu Démarrer -> Paramètres -> Panneau de configuration -> Propriétés de Sons et Périphériques Audio -> Onglet ‘Audio’. Sélectionnez le pilote U46MK2 comme unité par défaut pour l’enregistrement et la lecture.

Note importante

Une erreur de fréquence d’échantillonnage peut survenir. Par exemple, si vous sélectionnez ‘U46MK2’ dans la configuration multimédia de Windows, vous ne devez pas utiliser la fréquence d’échantillonnage 48 kHz dans les autres applications audio. Cela pourrait poser problème lors de l’exécution du moindre son Windows.

6.2. Paramétrage de la latence dans les applications ASIO

En cliquant sur le bouton ‘Panneau de Configuration ASIO’ (ou ‘Config ASIO’) des applications ASIO, vous entrez dans le paramétrage de la latence ASIO de l’U46MK2. Cliquez sur Config, Latency pour avoir accès aux différents réglages de latence. Vous pourrez choisir entre différentes tailles de buffer (Tampon). En règle générale une latence basse est utile pour travailler avec des synthétiseurs logiciels ou pour appliquer des effets au signal en temps réel. Plus la latence est basse, plus les ressources systèmes sont sollicitées.

Dans le cas d’un système standard à base de Pentium 4, les valeurs 128 ~ 256 sont suffisantes. Les tailles de buffer de 1024 et 2048 sont normalement réservées à des utilisations bien spécifiques. La valeur par défaut est 512, elle convient dans la majeure partie des cas.

6.3. MixVibes CROSS LE

L’U46MK2 est fournie avec la version complète du logiciel pour DJ MixVibes CROSS LE. Une fois CROSS LE lancé, sélectionnez ‘Fichier/Options’ puis l’onglet ‘son’. Choisissez ASIO 2.0 – U46MK2 comme périphérique de lecture comme illustré ci-dessous :

Du fait des limitations des pilotes de l’USB 1.1, les sorties à 48 kHz sont limitées à 4 canaux. 1. Einführung

Danke, dass Sie sich für das MIXVIBES U46MK2 entschieden haben.

MIXVIBES U46MK2 ist ein portables USB Recordinginterface für Laptop- und Desktop-

Computer. Es stellt 4 Eingangs- und 6 Ausgangskanäle mit einem separaten Mix-Ausgang zur Verfügung.

Mit seinen 2 Phono-Eingängen, ist es die perfekte Lösung für digitale DJs, mit Kompatibilität zu allen wichtigen DJ-Anwendungen.

Eingänge:

Die flexiblen 4 Eingänge von U46MK2 ermöglichen Aufnahmen von unterschiedlichen Quellen. Es stehen 2 Phono-Eingänge (Stereo), 2 Line-Eingänge (Stereo), ein Mikrofoneingang mit +48V Phantom Strom und ein Hi-Z Instrumenten-Eingang zur Verfügung.

Ausgänge:

Die 6 Line-Ausgänge ermöglichen den Anschluss an unterschiedliche externe Geräte, z.B. für die 5.1 Surroundwiedergabe einer DVD.

Ein separater Mix-Ausgang ermöglicht das gemeinsame direkte Mithören der Ein- und Ausgangssignale.

Alle diese Funktionen werden durch das stabile und kompakte Gerät, das man überall hin mitnehmen kann, bereitgestellt.

2. Beschreibung des U46MK2

2.1. Frontseite

(1)Kanal 1/2 (Ch 1/2) Eingangs Anschluss

- Eingangsquellen Wahlschalter (MIC/LINE/PHONO): Hier können Sie die

Eingangsquelle für den Kanal 1/2 auswählen.

- Mikrofon Eingangsanschluss (MIC IN): An diesen symmetrischen 3/4 Anschluss

kann das Mikrofon angeschlossen werden.

- +48V Phantomspeisung Schalter: Liefert die +48V DC Phantomspeisung

gleichzeitig am Kanal 1/2 wenn dieser betätigt ist.

- Gain Kontrolle für den Mikrofoneingang: Regelt den Eingangspegel des Mikrofons.

(2)Kanal 3/4 (Ch 3/4) Eingangsanschluss

- Eingangsquellen Wahlschalter (Hi-Z/LINE/PHONO): Hier können Sie die

Eingangsquelle für den Kanal 3/4 auswählen.

- Hi-Z Eingangsanschluss : An diesen unsymmetrischen 1/4 Anschluss können Sie

eine elektrische Gitarre oder einen Bass anschließen. Beachten Sie, dass Sie an diesem Eingang nur unsymmetrische Stecker verwenden können.

- Gain Kontrolle für den Hi-Z-Eingang : Regelt den Eingangspegel z.B. einer E-

Gitarre.

(3)Kopfhörer Ausgang (HPO OUT) mit Lautstärkeregler (HP VOL): Überwachen

(Monitoring) Sie alle Eingangs- und Ausgangsquellen über den Kopfhörerausgang. Der Ausgangspegel kann mittels des Kontrollreglers eingestellt werden.

2.2. Rückseite

(1) Externer Netzteilanschluss:

Wenn Sie ein Mikrofon verwenden, das mit Phantomspeisung betrieben wird, speziell bei der Verwendung eines Laptops, wird nachdrücklich empfohlen, ein Netzteil DC +9V/500mA (welches nicht zum Lieferumfang gehört) zu verwenden. Wenn Sie das U46MK2 einschalten oder wenn Sie den Ein-/Ausschalter der Phantomspeisung betätigen, könnte der Strom auch einen Spitzenwert von mehr als 500mA erreichen.

(2) USB Anschluss: Verbindung über ein USB Kabel zum Computer

(3) Eingang 1~4: Der Plattenspieler-Eingang und der Line-Eingang teilen sich

denselben Anschluss. Die Phono-Eingänge arbeiten mit einer RIAA Entzerrung optimiert für Plattenspieler mit „Moving Magnet“ Tonabnehmersystemen.

(4) Ausgang 1~6: Sie können diese Ausgänge verwenden, um verschiedene Geräte an

das U46MK2 anzuschließen oder um ein 5.1 DVD Surround Signal auszugeben.

(5) Mix Ausgang: Sie können alle Ein- und Ausgänge über den Mix Ausgang

überwachen (Monitoring). Sie können jedoch auch aktive Monitorlautsprecher an den Mix-Ausgang anschließen.

(6) Erdungspunkt: Wenn Sie einen Plattenspieler verwenden, verbinden Sie die beiden

Erdungsanschlüsse miteinander um Störungen zu verhindern.

2.3. Verbindung mit externen Geräten

Das U46MK2 ist ein Teil eines digitalen Multimedia Audio Equipment, was bedeutet, dass es viele verschiedene Möglichkeiten gibt, andere Geräte mit dem U46MK2 zu verbinden.

3. Hardware Installation

3.1. Minimale Systemanforderungen

Intel Pentium III 600MHz CPU oder vergleichbare AMD CPU.

256 MB RAM

Direct X 8.1 und höher

Microsoft® XP, Microsoft® Vista oder Mac OS-X.

Einen verfügbaren USB Anschluss

3.2. Installation

Bevor Sie mit der Treiberinstallation beginnen, legen Sie bitte die originale Windows® CD zurecht, da Sie diese eventuell während der Installation benötigen werden. Wenn Sie ein Mainboard mit einem neueren Chipsatz verwenden, sollten Sie die neuesten Patches und Treiber installieren. Diese erhalten Sie bei Ihrem Mainboard- oder Chipsatz Hersteller.

Suchen Sie einen freien USB Anschluss an Ihrem Computer; diesen finden Sie in der Regel auf der Rückseite Ihres Computers.

Stecken Sie den USB Stecker (Typ A Stecker) des U46MK2 in einen freien USB Anschluss Ihres Computers.

Schalten Sie den Power Knopf des U46MK2 an, die Power LED an der Frontseite sollte nun leuchten. Die Spannung bezieht das U46MK2 über den USB Anschluss. Sie können jedoch auch ein externes Netzteil anschließen.

WICHTIGER HINWEIS

Es kann sein, dass nicht alle USB Anschlüsse Ihres Computers das U46MK2 erkennen können. Wenn es den Fall ist, bitte versuchen Sie, es in einen anderen USB Anschlusse Ihres Computers zu stecken.

4. Treiberinstallation

Nachdem Sie das U46MK2 an den Computer angeschlossen und eingeschaltet haben wird es automatisch als USB Gerät erkannt und die Installation wird fortgesetzt.

1. Um die Installation des U46MK2 zu überprüfen, gehen Sie auf ‚Start > Einstellungen > Systemsteuerung > System > Hardware > Geräte-Manager’. Überprüfen Sie, ob zwei (2) Eintragungen des „USB Audiogeräts“ unter ‚Audio, Video- und Gamecontroller’ und ein (1) „USB Verbundsgerät“ unter ‚USB-Controller’ aufgeführt ist.

2. Überprüfen Sie Ihr System. Gehen Sie in die Systemsteuerung auf Sounds und Audiogeräte > Audio.

Bitte überprüfen Sie, ob das Audiogerät richtig installiert ist.

Wichtiger Hinweis:

Aufgrund der Beschränkung des USB 1.1 Treibers ist die Audioausgabe bei 48 kHz Sample Rate auf 4 Kanäle beschränkt. Wenn Sie die Audioqualität beibehalten möchten und nicht alle 6 Ausgänge benötigen, können Sie die 48kHz Sample rate belassen. Wenn Sie jedoch alle 6 Ausgänge brauchen, dann sollten Sie einen Sample Rate von 44,1kHz verwenden.

3. Installation des mitgelieferten U46MK2 Treibers: Legen Sie die MixVibes Treiber CD in Ihr CR-Rom Laufwerk. Wir empfehlen, den U46MK2 Ordner mit den gesamten Treiberdateien auf die Festplatte zu kopieren. Klicken Sie auf „Setup.exe“ anschließend sehen Sie die unten abgebildete Meldung und klicken einfach auf „Next“.

4. Klicken Sie auf ‚Next’ und folgen Sie die Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm.

5. Nun überprüfen Sie bitte, ob das MIXVIBES Icon unten rechts in der Taskleiste zu sehen ist.

5. U46MK2 Control Panel

Nach einer erfolgreichen Installation der U46MK2 Hard- und Software, können Sie das

MIXVIBES Icon unten rechts in der Taskleiste sehen. Wenn Sie auf das Icon klicken, öffnet sich das U46MK2 Control Panel.

5.1. Pull Down Menü

Das U46MK2 Control Panel besitzt ein Pull Down Menü, welches das Konfigurationsmenü enthält.

(1) File – Close Window

Setzt das Control Panel des U46MK2 in die Windows Taskleiste zurück.

(2) File – Exit:

Schliesst das U46MK2 Control Panel. Sie können das Control Panel jedoch jederzeit durch drücken auf das MIXVIBES Icon in der Taskleiste reaktivieren.

(1) Config – Mouse Wheel (Konfiguration – Scrollrad der Maus)

Stellt die Geschwindigkeit des Scrollrads der Maus für die Einstellung des Gain ein.

(2) Config – Latency (Konfiguration - Latenz)

Wählen Sie die gewünschte Latenzeinstellung des U46MK2. Wir empfehlen, die Latenz zuerst auf 256 einzustellen.

(3) Config – Factory Default (Konfiguration – Zurücksetzen)

Setzt alle U46MK2 Control Panel Einstellungen auf die Vorgaben (Factory Default) zurück.

(4) Config – Always on Top (Konfiguration – Immer im Vordergrund)

Erlaubt Ihnen, das Control Panel im Vordergrund zu behalten.

(5) Config – SampleRate (Konfiguration – Sample Rate)

Wählen Sie das Sample Rate aus (44.1kHz oder 48kHz).

Wichtiger Hinweis:

(6) Config – Buffer Number (Konfiguration – Speichergröße)

Erlaubt Ihnen, die Speichergröße einzustellen. Desto größer, desto kleiner wird die Latenz und desto stabiler wird das System.

DirectWIRE® erlaubt, die Ein- und Ausgänge der verschiedenen Treiber der Soundkarte miteinander zu verbinden.

Beispiel : Auf die unten stehende Abbildung, der Ausgang (OUT) der MEE Treiber werden zum ASIO Eingang des U46MK2 verbunden. Der von den MME Treibern abgespielte Klang kann dann in ASIO aufgenommen werden.

5.2. Input Bereich

(1) Eingang (Input)

Hier können Sie den Eingangspegel des analogen Eingangs 1/2 erhöhen. Der Eingangspegel des Kanals 3/4 ist bei 0dB fixiert. Die Zahl unter den Regler zeigt den Pegel in dB an.

(2) Eingangsquellen Anzeige

Hier können Sie die gegenwärtig ausgewählte Eingangsquelle überprüfen, welche über den Eingangsquellen Wahlschalter der auf der Frontseite des U46MK2 zu finden ist und ausgewählt werden kann.

(3) Monitor

Hier können Sie den Pegel für das Eingangsmonitoring (die ‚Mithör-Lautstärke’) für das U46MK2 festlegen. Dieser Pegel kann sowohl mit dem Scrollrad der Maus, als auch mit den Cursor Tasten eingestellt werden, die Zahl unter den Regler zeigt den Pegel in dB. Sie können

durch Betätigen des Mute Button das Eingangsmonitoring des jeweiligen Kanals stummschalten.

5.3. Output Bereich

(1) Output 1/2, 3/4, 5/6

Hier können Sie den Pegel des Ausgangssignals für jeden Kanal einstellen. Dieser Pegel kann über den Fader sowohl mit dem Scrollrad der Maus, als auch mit den Cursor Tasten eingestellt werden, die Zahl unter den Regler zeigt den Pegel in dB. Sie können durch Betätigen des Mute Button den jeweiligen Kanal stummschalten.

(2) Master Output

Hier können Sie den Pegel des Ein-/ Ausgangsmonitoring einstellen. Dieser Pegel kann über den fader sowohl mit dem Scrollrad der Maus, als auch mit den Cursor Tasten eingestellt werden, die Zahl unter den Regler zeigt den Pegel in dB. Sie können durch Betätigen des Mute Button den jeweiligen Kanal stummschalten.

6. Einstellungen in Anwendungen

6.1. Windows® Multimedia Setup

Das Windows® Multimedia Setup ist erforderlich wenn Sie das U46MK2 als Audiogerät für alle Windows Audio Applikationen verwenden möchten. Gehen Sie auf ‚Start > Einstellungen > Systemsteuerung > Sounds und Audiogeräte > Audio, und wählen Sie den U46MK2 (44.1kHz) oder U46MK2 (48kHz) Treiber bei der Soundwiedergabe und Soundaufnahme als Standardgerät aus.

Wichtiger Hinweis:

Sie dürfen die gleichen ASIO Treiber nicht zur selben Zeit verwenden, sonst tritt ein sample Rate Error auf. Wenn Sie z.B. den U46MK2 Treiber in Windows Multimedia Setup gewählt haben, dürfen Sie den gleichen ASIO Treiber nicht in einer anderen Audioanwendung gleichzeitig verwenden, sonst könnte z.B. das Windows Soundschema nicht mehr funktionieren.

6.2. Latenzeinstellung bei ASIO Anwendungen

Drücken Sie auf den ASIO Control Panel Button (oder Config) in einer ASIO Anwendung um die Latenz-Einstellung des U46MK2 vorzunehmen. Merke, ‚Enable Input’ sollte stets aktiviert sein. Hier können Sie zwischen den verschiedenen Speichergrößen (Buffer Size) wählen. Normalerweise ist eine niedrigere Latenz sinnvoll, wenn mit Softwaresynthesizern gearbeitet wird oder wenn Sie Audiosignal mit Ihrer Audiosoftware in Echtzeit bearbeiten möchten. Ein kleinerer Latenzwert verursacht jedoch auch eine höhere Systemauslastung.

Für ein schnelleres Pentium 4 System, sind Latenzen um die 128-256 guten Werte. Ein Buffer Size von 1024 und 2048 wird normalerweise nur unter besonderen Umständen verwendet. Der Standardwert liegt bei 512 um die bestmögliche Kompatibilität mit den verschiedenen Systemen zu liefern.

Bitte vergewissern Sie sich, dass Sie alle Änderungen, die Sie vorgenommen haben mit dem ‚Apply’ Button bestätigen.
