1 Usage
The anchor device (tripod DB UNI, DB MID, DB MINI, DB 500) is a part of the personal safety equipment to protect against falling. It is used as an anchor point type B according to DIN EN 795. The anchor device is authorised for use by a maximum of 2 persons. The catch systems to secure people may only be attached to the provided anchor points (ring eyes on the tripod head). The two silvercoloured eyes on the bottom of the tripod head are for 2 people and the three yellow eyes to the side of the tripod head are approved for one person. The tripod can only be used on a stable surface. The anchor device may only be used for load lifting equipment. The equipment may only be used with a catch belt according to EN 361. The connection between the anchor point and the personal safety equipment must be via a connection element according to EN 362. For catch systems, it is extremely important that the required clearance is ensured at the work are under the user before each use so that, in the event of a fall, no impact onto the ground or another obstacle is possible. To rescue people from shafts, containers or other lower level work levels, a rescue lifting device can be attached on the tripod head or using an adapter DB on a leg of the tripod according to EN1496 such as LiftEvac, Unidrive, MRG9 easy, MRG9easy+ or MRG9 lift. The rope of the rescue lifter is guided downward via a guide roller attached to the silver-coloured anchor eye of the tripod head.

3 Installation
3.1 Version Tripod DB UNI and DB 500
The tube tops item 1 (position numbers cf. Figure 1) are attached using the lock pin with a yellow anchor eye item 8 on the tripod head item 9. Insert the tube bottoms item 3 into the tube top item 1 and lock it with a spring catch item 2. Insert the telescopic foot or the telescopic feet item into the tube bottoms and lock with the lock pin item 6 and spring catch item 7 in the desired position. Connect the feet of the tripod to the wire cables item 4. Spread out the tripod until the wire cables item 4 are tensioned. Alternative to the wire cables, the tripod legs can also be connected with special connection tubes and clamps. A major prerequisite for the secure function of the anchor device is the safety of the tripod. Uneven surfaces can be compensated for with the adjustment foot (feet) item 5. To do this, slacken the wire pin item 7, remove the lock pin item 6 and bring the adjustment tube into the appropriate position. Here a bore in the tube of the adjustment foot must be flush with the bore in the bottom of the tube. Now insert the lock pin and secure with the wire pin while pulling outward. When erecting the tripod, it should be ensured that the standing feet are lying flat on the ground with its standing surface. For the round feet, ensure when erecting that the ball joints are not tensioned. The ball joints are only to be tensioned when the standing areas of the round feet are lying flat on the ground. For the tripod DB UNI, the adjustment feet can also be inserted without the tube bottoms directly into the tube tops and secured with lock pins and wire pins. As a result, the tripod can be used with one half installation height.
3.2 Version of tripod DB UNI and DB 500
The tube tops item 1 (position numbers cf. Figure 1) are attached using the lock pin with a yellow anchor eye item 8 on the tripod head item 9. Uneven surfaces can be compensated for with the adjustment feet item 5.
The following applies to all versions of the tripod.
The arrest system for the fall protection of one person and/or the rescue device can now be attached to the respective attachment eyelet of the tripod-head. As an alternative the rescue device can be attached to one of the tripod’s legs by means of an adapter. To this end proceed as follows: Unscrew the bolt with the black handle from the adaptor. Insert the descent device certified for use with the adaptor with the shackle (without the snaphook) in the aperture of the adaptor, re-introduce the bolt into the adaptor passing it through the shackle and screw it tightly in the baseplate again. The descent device has thus been attached to the adaptor. The adaptor can be equipped with either 2 clamps or 2 screw terminals . Procedure for the use of the clamps: open the clamps by unclasping and position on a leg of the tripod, first close the middle clamp around the leg of the tripod, then position the upper clamp over the middle clamp and close. The upper clamp is attached to an eyebolt which can rotate in the opened position. Turning this element can adjust the clamping force. By turning right the force is increased and by turning left the force is reduced. The clamps must close securely and the adaptor must be positioned firmly on the tripod’s leg.
Page 3
Procedure for the use of the screw terminals: open the clamps by unclasping and position on a leg of the tripod, put the movable clamp around the leg and close by means of the hinged rotating handle. In this position the half-moon bolt should rest on the movable clamp. Fasten the clamps by turning the rotating handles to the right. The adaptor must be positioned firmly on the tripod’s leg. Pass the rope of the rescue device through the pulley and attach the pulley to the silver colored attachment eye on the tripod’s head. The rope can now be passed downward through the pulley. Here please follow the operating manuals of the products used. If the anchor device is used as a part of the catch system, the user must be equipped with a means that limits the maximum dynamic forces that affect the user during the catch process to a maximum of 6 kN. For safety, it is essential that the position of the anchor device and the type of the work model be selected in such a way that a free fall and the fall height are limited to a minimum. Connection devices with a fall insulator must be connected in such a way that the function of the fall insulator is not impeded. Protect cables and belts from sharp-edged objects, welding sparks, chemicals or other destructive or damaging hazards. Before initial usage, become familiar with the function. Before and during usage, consider how any rescue actions that may be necessary can be performed safely, quickly and effectively. The anchor device may only be installed and used by trained and/or otherwise specialized personnel. The anchor device may only be used within the scope of the specified terms of use and for the intended purpose. A rescue action plan must be in place in which all of the emergencies possible during work are taken into account. Health restrictions such as cardio and circulation problems, taking medication etc. can negatively impact the user when working at heights. With a combination of machine parts for a system, it should always be ensured that the functions of the individual equipment parts are not impeded. If the anchor device is sold to another country, the reseller must provide a manual for the usage, service and regular inspection in the national language.

Bruksanvisning

Koppla fast tripodens fötter i vajrarna nr 4.
