1.Advanced Keyless Functions
The advanced keyless functions (advanced keyless entry and start system) enables the following operations while Hand Unit (Transmitter) is being carried.
Locking/unlocking the doors without operating the key. Starting the engine without operating the key.
1) Operating Range The system operates only when the driver is in the vehicle or within operational range while Hand Unit(Transmitter) is being carried. (1) Locking, unlocking the doors
The operational range for locking/unlocking the doors is up to 80 cm (2.6 ft) from the center of the front door handles.
(2) Starting the engine
The operational range for starting the engine includes nearly the entire cabin area.
2) Locking, Unlocking the Doors with Touch Sensor. Both doors can be locked/unlocked by pressing Touch Sensor in the door handle while Hand Unit(Transmitter) is being carried. (1) To lock
To lock the doors, press Touch Sensor. A beep sound will be heard once and the hazard warning lights will flash once.
(2) To unlock
To unlock the doors, press Touch Sensor. A beep sound will be heard twice and the hazard warning lights will flash twice.
3) Starting the engine Hand Unit(Transmitter) must be carried by the driver. (1) Depress the brake pedal.
(Automatic transmission)
Put the vehicle in park (P).
(Manual transmission)
Depress the clutch pedal all the way and shift into neutral.
Keep the clutch pedal depressed while cranking the engine. (2) Push the start stop button(SSB) all the way in. (3) Verify that the KEY indicator light (green) illuminates in the instrument cluster.
4) Turning off the engine (1) The shift lever set to the park position (P). (2) Push the start stop button (SSB) to turn off the engine.
2.Keyless entry Functions
This system remotely locks and unlocks the doors. The operation indicator light flashes when the button is pressed. The keyless entry system is designed to operate up to about 2.5m(8ft) from the center of the vehicle.
1) Lock button To lock the doors, press the lock button on Hand Unit (Transmitter). A beep sound will be heard once and the hazard warning lights will flash once.
2) Unlock button To unlock the doors, press the unlock button on Hand Unit (Transmitter). A beep sound will be heard twice and the hazard warning lights will flash twice.
3.Immobilizer Functions
Immobilizer system allows the engine to start only with Hand Unit(Transumitter) the system recognizes. If someone attempts to start the engine with an unrecognized Hand Unit (Transmitter), the engine will not start, thereby helping to prevent the theft of your vehicle.
