Troubleshooting
- Check that the li ght (LED) next to t he m onitor ’s power button is lit and
is green in colour.
- If the LED is orange there is no signal from the computer and the
monitor is in power saving mode. Check that the c omputer is switched
on. Press a button on the com puter keyboard or move the mouse to
wake the computer. If that does not help, check that the VGA cable is
securely plugged int o the computer. Also check the pi ns of the VGA
cable’s connector. If any pins are bent or brok en off, then cont act your
dealer.
- If the LED is not lit at all, check that the monitor is pl ugged into the
power socket and that the power switch is turned on at the wall. Check
that the monitor’s power swit c h is also turned on.
- Video sync signal . The video sync signal fr om the graphics card must
be as specified for the monitor.
The pictur e is sc r oll ing or unstable.
- T he most common cause of thi s problem is a loose VGA signal cable
or connector. Check that the cable is securely connected to the
computer.
- Check the VGA signal cable for damage. If any pins are bent or
broken off, contact your dealer or an authorised Mitsubishi Electric
service agent.
- Mak e sure that the graphic s card settings are corr ect and within the
monitor’s specifications. Change t he settings of your gr aphics card to
values within the monitor’s range.
13
- Remove any magnetic objects that are near the monitor. These
include speakers and po wer supplies ( AC adaptors ).
Colours are impure.
- Check that the cable is securely connect ed to the computer.
- Check the VGA signal cable for damage. If any pins are bent or
broken off, contact your dealer or an authorised Mitsubishi Electric
service agent (see Chapter 11 for details).
- Check the monitor’s colour settings. Press the Ent er butt on and sel ect
the Color Settings menu. Select the Recall menu it em to return to t he
factory pr eset c olour s and press Ent er .
- Degauss the monitor using the degauss function of the monitor’s O n
Screen Display.
- Remove any objects that can create a magnetic field that may be
near the monitor. These include speakers and power supplies (AC
adaptors ).
The image is blurre d or ther e is visible ghos ting
- Hav e you used a VGA extension cable? If so, remove the extension
cable and check t he di splayed image. Is the im age qual ity impr oved?
Depending on the characteristics and type of the extension cable,
some blurring or distortion may occur due to conduction the extension
cable. You can minimise these losses by using an extension cable
with better conduction quality.
- Hav e you used a VGA splitter or a video amplifier? Dependi ng on the
characteristics and type of the splitter or amplifier some blurring or
distorti on may occur due to the limitations of the dev ice’s bandwidth.
Problems caused by a limi ted bandwidth will increase as the signal ’s
resolution and r efresh rate increased. If you need to use a splitt er or
amplifi er with you monit or, make sure that it i s a good quality device
that has sufficient bandwidt h for the graphi cs resolution that you need
to use.
