Subject: LSU change

Model:

The LSU for the KM-2530 / 3530 and FS-9100DN / 9500DN has been changed to improve its productivity.
Please pay careful attention to the notes & remarks mentioned in this bulletin.

CONTENTS OF CHANGES

The LD (laser diode) has been changed to improve 1 dot reproduction.

A cylindrical lens has been added to the inside of the LSU to increase the allowance in inclination of the

polygon motor during assembly.
The quantity of fixation screws for the LSU has been changed from

Software upgrade: Rank ‘2’ (LSU rank setting) has been newly added to

If replacing LSU, upgrade firmware to latest version and change rank setting from ‘1’ to ‘2’!

Software upgrade details:

KM-2530/3530:

Please upgrade software as follows and change LSU rank setting from 1 to 2 in U274.
New software:

KM-2530 / KM-3530, FS-9100DN / FS-9500DN

4 to 3.

In compliance with the LSU change, image processing has been changed.

Note:

The ‘rank setting and registration’ to ‘2’ can also be done with older software (versions before 2BJ29138K),
but it will however not function! If using an older software version than the above, the ‘2’ rank setting is
registered, but as a number only, in fact image processing of ‘1’ is performed.

The magnification in auxiliary direction has been brought closer to the center position.

Please upgrade software as follows. Please change LSU rank setting from 1 to 2 in U274.

Note 1.:

The ‘rank setting and registration’ to ‘2’ can also be done with older software (before above versions), but it
will however not function! If using an older software version than the above, the ‘2’ rank setting is registered,
but as a number only, in fact image processing of ‘1’ is performed.

Note 2.:

As for the October production; due to difference in development timing of the new LSU and the new software,
the machines include a new LSU, but they still contain the old software. The rank is however set to ‘2’.
Please confirm the software version and upgrade to the latest version if new LSU is installed.

REMARKS

- If the software is upgraded to the latest version without replacing the LSU, the existing LSU rank will
automatically be set.

- The new LSU has a seal mentioning ‘2’. See

- If old software is combined with a new LSU, an unusual image will not occur, though the image may

be slightly dark when using a gray original. To the contrary, if new software is combined with an old
LSU, the output image may be rather light.
