Subject: Changes in fixing section (measure for offset)

Model: KM-2530 / 3530, FS-9100DN / 9500DN

PHENOMENON & C AUSE

The heat roller of the KM-2530 / 3530 and FS-9100DN / 9500DN may become contaminated and
toner may stick to the heat roller. As a result, fixing offset phenomenon may arise.
In order to prevent this, following changes have been implemented.

CONTENTS OF CHANGES

1. 'ROLLER HEAT'

Coating of the roller's surface has been changed. (from T-174 to P-140E).
In addition, the external diameter has been reduced from 36.85 to 36.65 mm.

2. 'ROLLER PRESS.'

Change of the material of the PFA tube (sleeve).

3. 'BUSHING HEAT ROLLER'

In compliance with the changes to the heat roller and to prevent static charge of heat roller, the bushing has
been changed to a conductive resin (plastic) type.

4. Firmware change

In compliance with the changes of the heat roller (diameter change), following simulation default values
have been changed as follows.

U053 = 'Performing fine adjustment of the motor speed'

[EJECT MOTOR] => 7 to 9

U161 = 'Setting the fixing control temperature'

Fixing main heater OFF timing: => 8 sec. to 12 sec.
[CONTROL TEMP] -> [MH-OFF TIME]

FIELD MEASURE

If phenomenon occurs, please use the new parts (mentioned in parts table on page 3.).
Please mind that when replacing the old with the new parts, it is also necessary to upgrade the firmware to

following versions or later.
Please confirm that the values in U053 and U161 are set according to point 4 mentioned above.

Please do not forget to use the new conductive bushing together with new heat roller!
