RADVIEW™ CT
VISUAL RADIATION DOSIMETER
Dose range color indicator
The RadView ™ CT from ISP, can be used as a QA tool
to ensure the appropriate exposure is administered to a
patient during a CT Scan. The RADView CT measures
the entrance dose to a patient. The special lm inside
the RADView CT badge darkens with x-ray exposure and
gives instant results that can be visually read following a
diagnostic procedure. The dose displayed can then be
compared to the expected dose for the CT scan received
by a patient.
FEATURES
• Quick independent assessment
• FDA class 1 device
• Instant reading
• No reader needed
• QC for patient safety
• Cards can be scanned and saved as PDF les for record retention
• Cost effective
• Independently tested:
• 89% accuracy in determining dose range
• Precision of +/-15%
CT Imaging Systems are sophisticated devices equipped
with precise technology and controls designed to
calibrate and ensure the level of radiation output. Even
with all of the controls in place and the sophistication
of the CT Imaging Systems, it is important to have
an overall system of quality assurance. RADView CT
provides a view of actual output. This ability to correlate
output is an essential component of quality healthcare
services that can be lled be RADView CT.
RADView CT can be scanned such that an PDF le of the
results can be preserved as an independent record of a
particular CT Scan, for a particular CT Machine and, for
that particular patient.

HOW TO READ THE RADVIEW CT DOSIMETER
In the RADView™ CT dosimeter, calibrated dose threshold indicators surround the radiation sensitive lm in the center of
each reference square. The color of each reference square is calibrated to the dose printed on that segment. The reference
indications are permanently printed on the badge and do not change, providing a constant reference value for each dose
level. If the sensitive lm in the center is darker than the background of a square, the dose is greater than the number on
that segment (“dose is darker”).
Before Exposure After Exposure
the active element is lighter than the 20 mGy reference.
the active element is darker than the 10 mGy reference.
PLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Place RADView CT on the patient or the phantom inside the scan slice to en-sure entire Colorimetric scale is utilized. The
dosimeter should be positioned so that its long dimension is perpendicular to the axis of the scanner and the active area
of the dosimeter is close to the central part of the scanned eld.
In the image on the left of an X-ray using the RADView CT
Dosimeter (the circled portion), you will notice the dosimeter
does not obstruct the image.
