IODINE CARTRIDGE 12217
The absorbent cartridge 12217 has been designed to
trap radioactive iodine in both molecular and organic
forms (methyl iodine). Designed for pneumatic circuits
requiring gamma activity control, it is integrated to
radioprotection devices intended for:
• Measurement of weekly overlapping releases of
nuclear reactors in the environment
• Continuous monitoring of gaseous ef uents
• Detectors, controllers and sampling monitors with
 xed  lter.
Cartridge 12217 is a cylindrical capsule in rigid
thermoplastic material containing activated charcoal.
Faces of the cartridge come in the form of circular
grids through which air is  ltered. Pressure drop in
line  ltering is negligible and has no in uence on the
controlled circuit  ow rate.
These features allow a high trapping ef ciency of
iodine, for a wide temperature and humidity range.
