1-5-2-3 08A Extension Card
It is made up of peripheral processor, switching net, 8 extension port
(4 ports for key phone or single phone and 4 ports for single phone.) and all kinds of control unit . Every
board can be connected to 8 extension and 4 key phones at most.
1-5-2-4 08B Extension Card
It is made up of switching net, 8 extension port(only for single line phone set only) and all kinds of control
un i t c ir c ui t. Ev e ry ca r d c an b e c on n ec ted to 8 ex te ns io n . It is i ns er te d in to EX P6 - EX P 13 sl o t a t M ai n U n it a nd
any slot at expansion unit.
1-6 Installation Process
1-6-1 Installation Environment
Fixing Method:
The unit can be placed on table or hung on the wall. Below figure is for wall-mounted .

install the system in such environments as follows:
1. Where it’s sunlit, too hot, too cold or watery. Proper temperature range: 0℃~36℃.
2. Where
there is heart source which gives out corrosive gases and damages the system.
3. Where it often shakes.
4. Where it is dusty or close to water and oil.
5. Where it’s near broadcast antenna.
6. Where it’s crowded with equipment (Room for heat emission should be kept).

1-6-2 System Configuration
System configuration: Trunk. Line ( 4-8), extension ( 16-32 ) including 4~12 key phones.
The expanding cards type include followings:
M01 Mother Board.
M02 multi-function card.
08A Extension Card.
08B Extension Card.
40P Trunk Line Card.

1-6-3 Prevention for Installment and Connection
a) User should wear anti-static ring or only touch the board terminal while inserting board. And the cards
are not allowed to put together with static things.
b) Telephone cables can not be allowed to paralleled with Power Supply Line . In order to avoid lightening
striking ,user should wire them inside room.
c) User only can insert cards after shutting off power. And should check stability and position before power
on.
1-6-4 Key Phone Connection
We provide user with 4-wire cable for Key Phone. If user want to make a new cable, please follow the below
diagram :
Wire1 and 2 are for analog signal , wire3 and 4 are for digital signal.

When system power off , back-up battery can make the system work normally. 24V battery is allowed
(eg.: connect 2pcs of 12V battery).

1-6-7 External Loud Speaker (for PAGING)
In Multi-function card, there is an output port for External Loud Speaker. User can page at any extension
when system is linked with this port, through 3.5mm standard audio connector.
1-6-8 External Music Source
User can replace the built-in on hold music from external source music such as MP3, CD (3.5mm
standard audio connector).External MUSIC port is in Multi-function card.
1-6-9 Ground Requirement
In order to avoid thunder storm, the system must connect to ground and the ground resistance is less than
5 Ω. Meanwhile, the ground cable must be separately and reliable.

CAUTION:
For the sake of personal safety and communication quality, grounding of KTS
should be reliable. Or else, the lightning-proof device inside would fail to work.
Resistance to ground should be less than 5 ohm.
The ground point should be directly connected to ground by cable (not linked to
other ground points).

1. All setting should be after entering System Program status.
2. How to access into System Program status?
Key P hone:
On-hook press “ CHK” key three times input system password ( default “1234567”) A long confirm beep will hear then input relevant program code number(00~36).
Single Line Phone
Off-hook, Input “##787” + password 1234567, A long confirm beep will hear , then input relevant program code number(00~36).

3. After enter into system program status, input code number from “00 ”to “36”. Then set relative digit
parameter. And some item or function only can be set by Key Phone.

If system uses the function of Trunk-to-Trunk transfer via DISA or non-supervise meeting of two Trunks,
then an extension port should be set as the connect-bridge for phoning between these two lines. This
extension must select between extension ports 001 - 008, and the selected should be the leisure

numbers. Every Trunk line firstly is chosen to use the end idle port when dialing in. The method is
often used.
* The forth digit of item No.02 is used to adjust flash time between cancel instruction and set instruction
in slow selection method. The item is used according requirement and few used.
* The second digit of item No.04 is set to “0” as slow selection and “1” as swift selection.

* At 00 group of item no. 03, set the first group IP card routing no. ( For example: 200 card, 17909card),
set the first group IP card voice selection instruction at 01 group, set the first group IP card number at 02
group, set the first group IP card password at 03 group, set waiting time of the first group IP card at
04group. (The time consist of 8 digits, and the unit is second. The first and second digit represents waiting
time for playing voice after inputting IP card number. The third and forth digit represents waiting time for
playing voice after inputting IP card voice selection instruction. The fifth and sixth digit represents waiting

means opening IP routing. And default is “0”.
* Setting “0” at the third digit of program item No. 23 means that input relative instruction at one extension
to make system shut off IP routing, but “1” means that it is non-effective when that input relative
instruction at one extension to make system shut off IP routing. That is to say to dial long distance call with
IP card compulsively.
* Setting “0” at the last column of item No.30 international region code means that system does not open
IP routing at the area, “1” means open IP routing. Operation is to make cursor shift to the first digit of unit
price. Press “# ” key to switch to “1” or “0”. If input “*” after IP routing number means can dialing any area
with the IP.
* Setting “0” at the last column of item No.31domestic region code means that system does not open IP
routing at the area, “1” means open IP routing. Operation is to make cursor shift to the first digit of unit
price. Press “# ” key to switch to “1” or “0”. If input “*” after IP routing number means can dialing any area

abbreviation code + telephone number.

Charge rate is the unit price of long distance call during a certain time. There are the following three kind
of
charge rate a : for international long distance call , for domestic long distance call and local call.
Default Setting
At program Item No. 30, set unit price is 0.80 per 6 seconds for all international call charge rate except
Hong Kong, Marco and Taiwan, which is 0.20 per 6 seconds. At program item No. 31, set 0.07 per 6
seconds for all domestic call charge rate. At program item No. 32, set 0.07 per minute for city call.
Notice
* The charge rate of 3S management soft is same as the rate set in the system. In order to use more
conveniently, we suggest users set the charge rate of 3S management soft on computer. System set
charge rate at item No. 30, 31 and 32 so that deposit and inquire call charge at key phone.
* At System Program 30, unit time is 6 seconds. At System Program 31, unit time of domestic price is 6
seconds. At System Program 32, unit time for city price is one minutes.
* Setting charge rate at System Program 30 as the following procedure: 00852-00.20-1, the first
column-00852 stands for Hong Kong area code. At the fist column, inputting “852” is ok, because system
default is “ 00”. The second column is for unit price. Unit time is 6 seconds, 00.20 means the unit price is

If there are two type outside line of the group phone system, one type route out directly, another type route
out with dialing out code, which must be set PBX code. Otherwise, class of service and charge account is
non-effective.

“969”. The first group stands for that the class restrict the telephone, which the leading number is “0”. That
also is domestic long distance call. The second, third and forth group stands for that restrict the telephones,
which the leading number is “160”,“960, “969”. That also is voice station call. There are different voice
station call in different city and user can change the leading number according to their requirement. The
open code of the third class is set at System Program 17 and there are total 12 groups. And the open code
digit can be from 1 to 8. No digit is set in default status.

and 16. And it default to be city call class.

The telephone number is used to be emergency telephone number and police call. And it default to be the

Function Introduction
When there is an incoming call, system can appoint several extension to ring together. But only one
extension rings first, after a certain time, second extension rings. Then third extension rings and so on.

Program 11 and 12). If one extension is not set to ring, the function is non-effective.

line. There only can be displayed 8 outside line telephone number once at key phone.
“00000000” –all extensions is restricted to ring. Every “0” of “00000000” means the function is restricted,
and “1” means the function is opened. The first “ 1” stands for the first outside line, the second “2” stands
for the second outside line and so on.
* The delay time is set at sub-item No. 3 of System Program 04. The second digit of 00401 means : “1” –
delay 5seconds.
“2” – delay 10 seconds. “3” – delay 15 seconds. “4” – delay 20 seconds. So the default delay time is 20
seconds. And every cycle is 5 seconds.
* The function is non-effective if auto-attendant is set.

System can open and restrict Trunk line port by program. For examp le , m u s t s e t to r e s trict so me Trunk line
ports when the Trunk lines are not used. Otherwise, system will be in mute status, but not send dialing tone
when call out at extension.

-10030 ,all trunk lines enabled.
Note:
* The function is set at System Program 01.
1-10030: “1” stands for Trunk line port No., The meaning of the first digit of “ 10030” – “2” stands for
opening caller ID function. “ 1” stands for system opens Trunk line port and “2” stands for system restrict
Trunk line port.
* If system don’t use Trunk line port, please set to restrict. Otherwise, system will not operate when calling

shipped. If want to use the function, must buy auto-attendant board. After installing, please set as the

* There are four fixed built-in duration outgoing message in auto-attendant board, users also can record
the outgoing message according their requirement. And users must record at extension port No. 001. The
first duration is played back when outside line calls in. And the recording instruction is “##7891# ”. After
finishing recording, can play the recorded message. The playing instruction is “ ##7801# ”. If user can not
satisfied with the playing message, can record again and system can delete the previous message
automatically. The recording time is 20 seconds. The second duration is played back when extension is busy.
And the recording instruction is “##7892# ” and playing instruction “ ##7802# ”. The recording time is 10
seconds. The third duration is played back when nobody answer. And the recording instruction is
“##7893# ” and playing instruction “ ##7803# ”. The recording time is 10 seconds. The forth duration is
played back when the extension number doesn’t exist. And the recording instruction is “##7894# ” and
playing instruction “ ##7804# ”. The recording time is 10 seconds.
* Set the forth digit of System Program 07 to decide whether users choose built-in message or record by
themselves . Set the digit as “0” to choose built-in message, “1” to choose to record the message by
themselves. The default is set “0” for the digit.
* When outside lines call in and system plays the message, system will route to operator assistance or play
the four outgoing message if the outside line party dials over time or it is non-effective for the outside line
parts to dial extension number. And set the first digit of System Program05 to decide whether system will
route to operator assistance or play the outgoing message
- “0” stands for routing to play outgoing message, “1” stands for routing to operator assistance.
1. System will play the forth duration once if users dial wrong extension number during playing the first
duration outgoing message. If the outside line party doesn’t dial or dials over time or it is non-effective
to dial extension number after finishing playing outgoing message, the outside line will be released.
2. In “ playing message” mode, if it is non-effective for users to dial extension number after finishing
playing the second and third duration of outgoing message, the outside line will be released.
3. In “operator assistance” mode, if the outside line party doesn’t dial extension number or it is
non-effective for the outside line party to dial extension number after finishing playing outgoing
message, system will transfer to operator assistance. The default status is in “ playing message” mode.

Function Introduction
There two kind of account way- one is “reverse polarity account ”, the other is “delay time account”.
The “reverse polarity account ” is that system will count charge once receiving reverse polarity signal. It is
suitable for Trunk line port with reverse polarity signal.
The “delay time account” is that system will charge after caller party dials the called party’s telephone
number and system delay a certain time.

Operate a Call
3-1 Brief Feature Introduction
Trunk Numbers Integrated
If your company has several Trunk Lines with different telephone numbers, you can public
only one number by using this function. Therefore, calls for the public number can be routed through all of
the Trunk Lines.
DTMF Caller ID for internal extensions
The function is built –in. Internal caller ID is only available for DTMF. Extension number can be identified
again and again after being transferred.
FSK/DTMF Caller ID for incoming call ( Optional function)
This is an optional function. Incoming Caller ID is available for both FSK and DTMF. Outside call number
and internal call number can be displayed on key phone and extension telephone again and again. 50 group
outside call number can be stored and recorded in Key Phone.
Auto-Attendant with Two Modes and Eight Durations of Outgoing Message( Optional )
Two OGM modes: Fixed Message Playback and Recordable Message Playbackeach of which has four
durations and users can choose the mode according to their requirements. The content of the fixed
messages is as the followingthe first duration “Hello ! This is Miracall Company, Please dial the extension
number. Dial 0 for operator assistance”. The second “the number is busy now, please dial another
extension”. The third “nobody answer, please dial another extension ”.The forth “ the number doesn’t exist
please dial again”.You can record the out-going messages in Recordable Message Playback mode similarly
with the fixed messages or else. The total time is 50 seconds.
At this time,the Caller can dial the desired extension or Operator. Thus, system can save a lot of time to
route a call by Operator.
Auto- IP Routing
System can save one or more IP card numbers with passwords, provided by different Carrier. Then,
system can route your long-distance calls automatically through IP routes, according to the number you
dialing. By this way, company can save and control much money.
Paging
You can make announcement on key phones or single line phones .Voice can be spread out through key
phones or external loud speaker after a music notice tone, to notify other party to pick up the call nearby.
Walking Account Code
Users can arrange account code for any person or extension and deposit call charge for the account
code .The authority will be stopped when the deposit is use up and users can enquiry for their balance at
any time. The function is convenient for users to manage call charge, especially for sales department or
rental house . There are total 255 group account codes can be set in the system.

Charge & Program Software
This software can be used for system status monitoring, system programming and SMDR statistics.
Trunk Line and extension status can be monitored lively in system monitoring mode.

3-2-13 Trunk-to-Trunk Economical Call via DISA
Function Introduction
People outside of company can use the company’s Trunk Line to make an outside call. For example, when
an employee is out of the company, he can call back to company PBX, and use company’s trunk line to make
cheap long distance call.

Note
To realize this function, the Multi-function card should be installed in the system. And the working mode
of dialing in must be set for Auto-Attendant service .
Co-to- Co password must be set at System Program22.
Set a DISA port at Program27( should set at port 001~008 only). Then make this port vacancy, which
do not allow to connect any line.
There is busy tone detection in the system. Under normal status, system can detect busy tone
transferred from outside line after a conversation finished. In order to handle incoming call in time when the
outside lines are busy, system can send “ do, do, do” notice tone in four minutes later during Trunk-to-Trunk
conversation. If user want to extend conversation time, must press “#” key. Thus, system will add 5
minutes more to continue talking. Otherwise system will cut off automatically.
Every time on hearing notice tone “do,do,do” and pressing “# ”, system can extend conversation time
for 5 minutes. If pressing “## ” continuously, system will release TRUNK line automatically.
Should press “## ” before goes on-hook, otherwise, system will take a longer time to release the Trunk
Line.

Function Introduction
A call during conversation can be transferred to an any extension.
Operation Instruction
After conversation established, Flash Hookswitch (or press “ FLASH” key), and hold the incoming call
(hearing holding music.), Then dial the desired extension number, on-hook when hearing the tone. (Thus,
the incoming call is transferred to the called extension) .
Note
If a calling extension is set for outside line status on Off-hook, users must add “#”before called
extension number whiling transfer the incoming call at the calling extension.
The duration to flash Hookswitch should not too long and too short. If the time is too long, the incoming
call can not rout to extension B. If the time is too short the function can not be effective. The Flash time
should be from 90ms to 700ms.

4-3 System Program
4-3-01, Software Start
Click shortcut 3S Software. When the first time to open the software ,it remind the verify data between PBX
& Software. Then user can also see the communicate progress. If the communication between PBX &
Software failed, pls. go to COM setting to confirm the COM port ,or to check if the cable connection is
reliable or not.
4-3-02, Change the Extension Number
Choose Data Setting menu , then to extension menu. Double-click the desired extension number, then user
can input the new number, press “Enter” . Extension change successfully if the number column display
Green color , fails if display Yellow.
Eg: In order to change all extensions leading number starting from “8xxx”: Choose the desired extension
column, click the right keypad in the mouse ,add all extension numbers in series at one time, then input
“8001”, so all the extension number change to 8001,8002,8003…etc.
4-3-03 , Class of Services Setting
Double-click the relevant column of Class of Service, user can change the Class of Services freely. Press
“ENTER” to confirm. Input “1” is “Class 1”, it is for free call. Input “2” is “Class 2”, it is for restriction of
International Long-distance Call, and restrict leading numbers of “160” “960” “969”; Input “3” is “Class 3”,
it is for making Local call only and restrict leading numbers of “160” “960” “969”, but can open some
long-distance call; Input “4” is “Class 4”, it is for making Local call only and restrict leading numbers of
“160” “960” “969”; Input “5” is “Class 5”, it is for dialing Emergency Call only ,like “110” “112” etc; Input
“6” is “Class 6”, it is for Intercom Call only.
4-3-04 Extension Caller ID Setting
1. In the extension parameter setting, double-click Caller ID, change “Do not display” to “Display”.
This is for intercom Caller ID only. For the proprietary telephone, no need to set.
2. Regarding Incoming Caller ID, should add PBX Caller ID card, and modify the Caller ID parameter
in Trunk Line Parameter.
4-3-05, Block Password
1. Block password purpose the same as Class of Services.
2. To check Block password is to delete the password once user set but forget the password.
4-3-06, Wakeup Call setting (Clock)
1. Every day the PBX can set 2times for Clock. That is Clock 1 or Clock 2.
2. Double-click the Clock column, input the relevant time (24hours). Eg: 6:00AM, then input
“0600”,press “ENTER”.

Including 3minites alarm, 6 and 9 minutes alarm , no alarm. System default is Alarm for both incoming &
outgoing. If user want to set outgoing only, pls. go to Switch On/off Parameter.
4-3-08, Dialing-out Mode setting
Including extension goes off hook is in Intercom mode or in External mode. That is, when extension goes
off-hook, system is in Directly dialing-out mode or should dial “9” for PSTN line.
4-3-09, Exclusive Line Dialing-out Setting
Double click the relevant Extension column, user can choose the desired extension to dial out exclusively.
Other setting related include dial out in Day time or Night time. Remember is Line “X” is chosen as exclusive
line dialing out, other extensions can’t set this line exclusively any more.
4-3-10, Incoming Call Ringing Assignment
Double click the relevant Extension column, choose any line, eg: line 1, as the incoming ringing line. All
other extensions should cancel. Other related setting is ringing assignment in Day or Night time.
4-3-11, Extension Pickup Group Setting
To join the group or quit, simple double click the desired extension column. In the same group, extension
can be picked up each other. Total can be set four groups. In the default setting, all extensions already
joined the 4-groups.
4-3-12, Enable or Disable Trunk Line (connect or disconnect)
In Trunk Line parameter, double click the relevant Trunk Line column, user can choose whether connect or
disconnect line. Remember if PBX system line port do not connect any PSTN line, it should set Disconnect
mode, otherwise the outgoing call maybe no sound or can’t dial out.
4-3-13, OGM Setting
In Trunk Line parameter, double click the relevant column. There’s also choice OGM valid in Day or Night
time. User can choose relevantly.
4-3-14, Trunk Line Caller ID
To enable this feature, Caller ID card should be installed in PBX system. Double click column of Caller ID,
user can set this feature. For the Single Line Telephone , Extension Caller ID should also be set.
4-3-15, Charge Mode
For the user to choose whether it is Time Delay charge or Reversal mode.
4-3-16, Router Line (dialing out mode)
This is for call out to different lines.

4-4 Remote Program
The technical can email Programmed Files (*mdb) to end users to help them to make program the PBX.
Once receive the files, user can import the data . There’s choices to start Extension Parameters, Trunk Line
Parameters, Switch Parameters, Other Parameters etc. When finishes, user should log out software system
and enter again to verify the data.
4-5 Real-time Monitor
Include display the extension On-hook, Ringing, Talking, Busy, Make outside Call, Incoming Call etc.
4-6 Phone Cost Check
Login in the main menu, click “Phone Cost Enquiry”:
1. Click “Extension”, then the cost will be listed. Can choose General Enquiry if user want check cost within
some region.
2. The enquiry can be based on user’s condition set . Open the monthly database can find the historic
record. All data can be printed out.
4-7 Phone Charge Management
This feature available for some hotels. The manager can assign password class to Operators.
1. Can set 6 Classes of Services;
2. Set clocks wakeup call.
3. Super Classes : It is similar to Class of Services. If the extension paid deposit but balance less than
“ 0”. The class is the same. If client pay deposit again and more than “0”, the extension class will
recover to original.
4. Deposit: Double click the column, input the deposit digital and press “ENTER”, if background turns
green ,the deposit is valid. The deposit can be added automatically. If operator want to delete the
deposit, simply input “0”.
