MT Flip Front Operation Manual
Opening and Closing Your MT-B Flip Front End
Note: These steps will become easier the more you do them. Be gentle with the front end. Set your parking brake
before opening and closing the front end. Do not let your flip front touch your car. This is a scissor hinge type front
end and requires some degree of skill to operate.
Opening Your MT-B Flip Front End
Step 1: Locate the latch knob under the dash. Pull down to unlock position. Knob will and should stay in
place. (See Figure 1)
Step 2: Standing in front of the car, put hand in the grill gap. Pull flip front straight out until it stops. Do
not let the front end drop towards the ground. Once the flip front is completely out, you can lift the front
end upwards until it stops. (See Figure 2, and Figure 3)

Your Flip Front should be at this position when fully opened.
Closing Your MT Flip Front
Step 3: Push the latch knob back up to the lock position. (See Figure 4)

Step 4: Place hands on flip front end so that you can feel the plastic locks on the back side of the front end
with the tips of your fingers (See Figure 5, and Figure 6). Pull hood straight down to the same position it
was in just before you lifted it in Step 2. During this step, it is important that you don’t let the front end
go backwards towards the car. It could damage the front end and/or the car.
Step 5: Slowly and evenly, push the flip front towards the rear of the car until you can feel the rubber
cups for the plastic locks. Start the plastic locks into the rubber cups, but do not push them in all of the
way, yet.
Step 6: Make sure that both sides of the flip front end are even at the a-panel seem.

Step 7: While standing in front of the Mini with both hands on the front end just above the grill, evenly
push the flip front end towards the rear of the car until it locks. The front end should now be in locked
position. Please call us if you have any questions. This is not a traditional hood and can be difficult to
open and close for first timers.
