CIRCULAR SAW SAFETY WARNINGS
Cutting procedures
DANGER: Keep ha nds away from cut ting area and
a)
the blad e. Keep your second h and on auxiliar y handle, or
motor housing. If both hands ar e holding the saw, they ca nnot be
cut by the bl ade.
b) Do n ot reach under neath the workp iece. The guard cann ot
protec t you from the blade b elow the workpie ce.

c) Adju st the cuttin g depth to the thic kness of the wor kpiece. Less than a full t ooth of the blade tee th should be visible
below the wo rkpiece.
d) Never h old the workpi ece in your hands o r across
your leg w hile cutting . Secure the wor kpiece to a stab le
platform. It is impor tant to support t he work properly t o minimise
body exp osure, blade bindi ng, or loss of contro l.
e) Hol d the power tool by in sulated gripp ing surface s,
when performing an operation where the cutting accessory
may contact hidden wiring. Contact with a „ live“ wire will als o
make expo sed metal part s of the power tool „l ive“ and could give
the opera tor an electric s hock.
f) W hen ripping, al ways use a rip fenc e or straight ed ge
guide. Th is improves the accur acy of cut and red uces the chance
of blade binding.

g) Always use blades with correct size and shape (diamond
versus round) of arbour holes. Blades t hat do not match the
mounting h ardware of the saw wi ll run o-centre, c ausing loss of
control.
h) Never use damaged or incorrect blade washers or bolt.
The blade wa shers and bolt were s pecially design ed for your saw,
for optim um performan ce and safety of op eration.
Kickback causes and related warnings
– kickba ck is a sudden react ion to a pinched, jamm ed or misaligned
saw blade, c ausing an uncontrol led saw to lift up an d out of the
workpie ce toward the opera tor;
– when the bla de is pinched or jamm ed tightly by the ker f closing
down, the bl ade stalls and the mot or reaction dri ves the unit
rapidly b ack toward the oper ator;
– if the blad e becomes twis ted or misaligned i n the cut, the teeth
at the back e dge of the blade can di g into the top surf ace of the
wood caus ing the blade to climb o ut of the kerf and jum p back
toward the o perator.
Kickba ck is the result of saw m isuse and/or incorre ct operating
procedu res or conditions a nd can be avoided by tak ing proper
precau tions as given below.
a) Mai ntain a rm gri p with both hands o n the saw and
positi on your arms to res ist kickbac k forces. Posit ion your
body to ei ther side of the bl ade, but not in lin e with the
blade. Ki ckback could cau se the saw to jump back wards, but kick-
back forc es can be controlle d by the operator, if pro per precaution s
are taken.
b) Whe n blade is bindi ng, or when inter rupting a cut fo r
any reason, release the trigger and hold the saw motionless
in the mate rial until the b lade comes to a comp lete stop.
Never att empt to remove the s aw from the work or p ull the
saw back ward while th e blade is in moti on or kickback m ay
occ ur.Inves tigate and take cor rective ac tions to eliminate t he cause
of blade binding.
c) When r estartin g a saw in the workpi ece, centre the s aw
blade in t he kerf so that th e saw teeth are not e ngaged into
the material. If the saw blade bin ds, it may lift up th e workpiece
and cause k ickback when t he saw is restar ted.
d) Support large panels to minimise the risk of blade
pinching and kickback.Large panel s tend to sag under the ir own
weight. Sup ports must be p laced under the pan el on both sides,
near the lin e of cut and near the edg e of the panel.
e) Do no t use dull or dama ged blades. Unsha rpened or improper ly set blades prod uce narrow kerf cau sing excessive fr iction,
blade bind ing and kickback .
f) B lade depth and be vel adjusting l ocking levers m ust be
tight an d secure befo re making the cu t. If blade adjustment
shift s while cuttin g, it may cause bindin g and kickback.
g) Use ex tra caution w hen sawing into e xisting wall s or
other blind areas. The protrudi ng blade may cut objec ts that can
cause kickback.
Lower guard function
a) Check the lower guard for proper closing before each
use. Do not o perate the saw if t he lower guard doe s not
move free ly and close ins tantly. Never cla mp or tie the
lower guard into the open position. If the saw is accident ally
droppe d, the lower guard may be be nt. Raise the lower gua rd with
the retr acting handle and m ake sure it moves fre ely and does not
touch the b lade or any other par t, in all angles and dep ths of cut.
b) Check the operation of the lower guard spring. If the
guard an d the spring are n ot operating pr operly, they mus t
be ser viced before u se. Lower guard may oper ate sluggishly due
to damaged p arts, gummy dep osits, or a build- up of debris.
c) The lo wer guard may be ret racted manu ally only for
specia l cuts such as „p lunge cuts“ a nd „compound c uts“.
Raise th e lower guard by the r etracting h andle and as soon
as the blade enters the material, the lower guard must be
released. For all other sawing, the lower guard should operate
automatically.
d) Alw ays observe tha t the lower guard i s covering the
blade before placing the saw down on bench or oor. An
unprotec ted, coastin g blade will cause th e saw to walk backwar ds,
cutti ng whatever is in its p ath. Be aware of the tim e it takes for the
blade to sto p after switch i s released.
Additional Safety and Working Instructions
Wear ear prote ctors. Exp osure to noise can c ause hearing loss .
Use protec tive equipmen t. Always wear safet y glasses when
working w ith the machine. The u se of protecti ve clothing is recommende d, such as dust mask, p rotective glov es, sturdy non- slip
footwear, helmet and ear defenders.
The dust pr oduced when using t his tool may be harmf ul to health.
Do not inhal e the dust. Use a dust a bsorption sys tem and wear a
suitable dust protection mask. Remove deposited dust thoroughly,
e.g. with a vac uum cleaner.
Do not use s aw blades not corres ponding to the key dat a given in
these ins tructions f or use.
It is neces sary to selec t a saw blade which is su itable for the
material being cut.
Use only woo dworking blades s pecied in this ma nual, which
comply wi th BS EN 847-1.
The rated sp eed of the accesso ry must be at leas t equal to the
maximum s peed marked on the p ower tool.
Do not x the o n/o switch in the „on“ p osition when usin g the saw
hand-held.
Do not use ab rasion discs in th is machine!
Remove the b attery pack be fore start ing any work on the
appliance.
WARNING! To reduce the r isk of re, persona l injury, and produc t
damage due to a s hort circuit , never immerse your t ool, battery
pack or cha rger in uid or allow a ui d to ow inside them.
Corrosi ve or conductive u ids, such as seawater, cer tain industr ial
chemica ls, and bleach or bleac h containing prod ucts, etc., Can
cause a sho rt circuit.
Never break o pen battery p acks and charge rs and store only in d ry
rooms. Kee p dry at all times.
Use only Sys tem M18 charger s for charging Sys tem M18 batt ery
packs . Do not use batter y packs from o ther systems.

WORKING INSTRUCTIONS
Adapt the fe ed speed to avoid over heating the blade ti ps.
SPECIFIED CONDITIONS OF USE
This elec tronic circul ar saw can cut lengt hways and mitre accu rately
in wood.
ELECTRIC BRAKE
The elec tric brake engage s when the trigger i s released, causi ng
the blade to s top and allowing you to p roceed with your wo rk.
Generall y, the saw bl ade stops within t wo seconds. Howeve r, there
may be a delay be tween the time you r elease the trigg er and when
the brake en gages. Occasion ally the brake may miss co mpletely.
If the brake m isses frequen tly, the saw needs ser vicing by an autho rized Mil waukee service f acility. You must always w ait for the blade
to stop comp letely before re moving the saw fro m the workpiece.
BATTERIES
Batter y packs which h ave not been used for s ome time should be
recharged before use.
Temperature s in excess of 50°C (122°F) r educe the perfo rmance of

the batt ery pack. Avoid ex tended expo sure to heat or sunshine (ri sk
of overheating).
The contac ts of charger s and battery p acks must be kept c lean.
For an optim um life-time, the b attery pack s have to be fully char-
ged, af ter use. Batter y packs which have n ot been used for so me
time shoul d be recharged be fore use.
To obtain the lon gest possible b attery life re move the batter y pack
from the c harger once it is ful ly charged.
For batt ery pack stora ge longer than 30 days: Sto re the battery
pack wher e the temperature i s below 27°C and away fro m moisture
Store the bat tery pack s in a 30% - 50% charged con dition Every six
months of s torage, charge the p ack as normal.
Do not dispo se of used batte ry packs in the h ousehold refu se or
by burning t hem. Milwaukee Dis tributors o er to retrieve old
batteries to protect our environment.
Do not stor e the battery p ack together wit h metal object s (short
circuit risk).
Batter y acid may leak fro m damaged batter ies under extr eme load
or extr eme temperature s. In case of contac t with batter y acid wash
it o immed iately with soap an d water. In case of eye conta ct rinse
thoroug hly for at least 10 minute s and immediately s eek medical
attention.
No metal pa rts must be allo wed to enter the batt ery sectio n of the
charger (sh ort circuit ri sk).
BATTERY PACK PROTECTION
In extremely high torque, binding, stalling and short circuit
situatio ns that cause high cu rrent draw, the tool wi ll stop for about
2 seconds a nd then the tool will t urn OFF. To reset, r elease the
trigger.
Under extreme circumstances, the internal temperature of the
batter y pack could rais e too much. If this happ ens, the fuel gauge
will ash unt il the batter y pack cooled down. Af ter the lights g o o,
the work may co ntinue.
Place the bat tery on the char ger to charge and res et it.
TRANSPORTING LITHIUM BATTERIES
Lithium -ion batterie s are subject to the D angerous Goods Le gislation requirements.
Transport ation of those bat teries has to be do ne in accordance with
local, national and international provisions and regulations.
The user c an transport th e batteries by ro ad without fur ther
requirements.
Commerci al transport of L ithium-Ion bat teries by third pa rties is
subjec t to Dangerous Good s regulations. Transp ort preparat ion and
transpo rt are exclusivel y to be carried ou t by appropriately t rained
person s and the process has t o be accompanied by cor responding
experts.
When transporting batteries:
Ensure that battery contact ter minals are protected and insulated
to prevent sh ort circuit. En sure that batter y pack is secure d against
movement wi thin packaging. D o not transpor t batteries that a re
cracked o r leak. Check with f orwarding com pany for furth er advice
MAINTENANCE
Remove the b attery pack be fore start ing any work on the
appliance.
Be sure to dis connect the too l from the power sup ply before
attac hing or removing the s aw blade.
Clean tool a nd guarding syste m with dry cloth .
Certai n cleaning agents a nd solvents are har mful to plastic s and
other insulated parts.
Keep the app aratus handle clea n, dry and free of s pilt oil or grease.
Check the function of guards.
Regular mai ntenance and cleani ng provide for a long s ervice life
and safe handling.
The ventila tion slots of the mac hine must be kept cle ar at all times.
Remove dus t regularly. Remove the s awdust which has acc ummu-
lated insid e the saw in order to avoi d the risk of re.
Use only Mil waukee accessori es and Milwaukee spa re parts. Shoul d
componen ts need to be replac ed which have not been d escribed,
please con tact one of our Mil waukee service a gents (see our list o f
guarantee/service addresses).
