2 Introduction and Setting Up
Congratulations on your new MILLENNIUM Games Console. We hope you will have a lot of fun with it. Please follow the instructions in this manual to make the best possible use of the product.
2.1 Product Contents Check
The package comprises the following items:
Games console Carrying strap Television cable Instruction manual
2.2 Power Supply
2.2.1 Installing the Batteries
Hold the console carefully in the palm of your hand and
open the battery compartment by pressing against the catch and lifting the cover.
The ARCADE 3000 requires three 1.5 volt batteries of the
“AAA” or “LR03” type.
When inserting the batteries, take
care to ensure that the positive tip of each battery matches up with a “+” sign inside the compartment (see diagram).
Replace the cover of the battery
compartment.
-2-
ENG
2.2.2 Using Rechargeable Batteries
We strongly advise you to use alkaline batteries. We do not recommend rechargeable batteries, as these only have a voltage of 1.2 and therefore supply insufficient power to the machine. If you do wish to use rechargeable batteries (which is not recommended by the manufacturer), they will not damage the machine but it may function abnormally. In any case, the period of use (even if they are the special type with more than 650 mAh capacity) will be considerably shorter than with normal batteries.
2.2.3 Battery Life
As a rule the batteries will last several hours, but this depends on various factors. In the first place it depends on always using batteries of good quality. In addition the battery life is influenced by the volume of the sound and the use of the TV output. If you go against our advice and use rechargeable batteries, the playing time can be expected to be shorter than with good quality alkaline ones, as the voltage of rechargeable batteries is only 1.2. The following are signs of low batteries:
The brightness and contrast on the TFT display decrease. The machine suddenly switches off or returns to its starting
screen in the middle of a game. The machine will not switch on. In these cases replace the batteries to make the machine work properly again.
-3-
ENG
2.2.4 Important Battery Information
Batteries should only be installed by an adult. Only use batteries of the recommended type (3 x AAA),
and never mix old and new batteries.
Batteries must always be inserted with the correct polarity
(+ or -).
Exhausted batteries are to be removed as soon as
possible.
The battery terminals must never be short-circuited. Do not dispose of exhausted batteries with the household
rubbish. Take them to a hazardous waste depot.
Help to protect the environment! Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the unit
before charging.
Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult
supervision.

earphones or a TV output. Plug your earphones in here. The socket takes a standard 3.5 mm jack plug; any conventional earphones with this connection may be used. The TV cable that comes with the machine should be plugged in here if you want to play using your television set. For details of how this works, see the following section.
-5-
ENG
3 Playing with TV Output
A special feature of your ARCADE 3000 is that you may use it as a TV console so that your television gives you the picture and sounds. To do this, your television must meet the following requirements:
It must be a PAL standard set. There must be CHINCH sockets for video (yellow) and
audio (white/red), preferably at the front of the set.
If you only have SCART instead of CHINCH sockets, you
may be able to use a SCART adaptor which is obtainable from a dealer.
Here is how to connect the ARCADE 3000 to the television:
1) At one end of the TV cable supplied with the ARCADE 3000
there is a single thin 2.5 mm jack plug. Insert this into the TV output socket (10) of the console.
Important: Only do this, when the console is switched off!
2) Insert the yellow CHINCH plug into the yellow (video)
CHINCH socket on your television.
3) Insert the white CHINCH plug into the white (audio)
CHINCH socket on your television.
The red audio socket on the television is not used.
4) Switch on your television set, and select the “video in”
(normally AV) channel. If you aren’t sure how this works, refer to the instructions for your television set.
-6-
5) Switch on the games console. The starting display of the
ARCADE 3000 should now appear on the TV screen. The console’s own TFT screen and sound output will remain switched off.
6) Now operate the console in the usual way.
Important Precaution:
When playing with the television, make sure no one can trip over the cable!
4 Trouble shooting
The machine will not switch on Check whether the batteries are installed correctly (pay attention to the polarity!) and whether the power is sufficient. If necessary, insert new batteries. Check whether you have pressed the button properly.
The picture appears abnormal There can often be electrostatic charges. The result can be a flickering display, lines through the picture, or distorted colours. If this is the case, switch the ARCADE 3000 off and then on again, or press the RESET button twice. If the problem still persists, you may need to change the batteries.
ENG
The picture loses brightness and contrast The batteries are spent and must be replaced.
The speaker has a tinny sound You may have turned the volume up too high. Turn the knob the other way to reduce it.
No sound comes through the headphones Check whether the headphone connection really fits the machine. Is the plug secured properly? If necessary, try different headphones.
The machine automatically reverts to its initial display The batteries may be spent and need replacing.
-7-
A game doesn’t work properly or has “crashed” Press the RESET button and start the game again. Note also that you may have been using the wrong controls. Carefully read the instructions for the game in question. Also check whether the batteries are exhausted!
The picture on the TV screen is not in colour, or flickers Check whether you have selected the AV input on the television set. If you have selected the S-VHS input by mistake, the picture could appear in black and white or flickering. Are you perhaps using an incompatible SCART adaptor? The specification of the adaptor needs to match that of the SCART socket on your television set!
You are using a TV lead and no picture appears There can be several causes for this. Check that:
the lead is properly plugged into the ARCADE 3000; the CHINCH leads are properly plugged into the television
(yellow plug in yellow socket), or the SCART adapter (if
used) is compatible;
you have selected the AV channel on the TV set; the appropriate TV channel is selected for the input in a
case where there are several choices (AV1, AV2, S-VHS
etc.); The ARCADE 3000 is switched on. If none of this helps, try testing whether a different device, such as a digital camera, works with the selected TV input.
When using the television, you hear no sounds
Are all the leads secured properly? Has the volume on the TV set perhaps been turned down too low?

5 Care of the Product
To ensure lasting enjoyment of your ARCADE 3000, observe the following guidelines for handling it:
Never let the machine get wet. Protect it from cold, heat or direct sunlight. Take care when connecting the TV lead or headphones.
When disconnecting, always pull the plug, never the lead. Don’t carry your ARCADE 3000 around unprotected (for
example in a back pack or handbag), as the display could
easily get scratched by other objects. We recommend that you cover the display with a
transparent protective film, of the kind kind supplied for
mobile phones, and carry the machine in a suitable
protective case (like those for digital cameras). On no account press down on the display, as the TFT screen
is very sensitive.
Don’t press the buttons too hard. Don’t drop your ARCADE 3000. Never open the casing of the machine. Don’t let the machine get dirty. To clean it, always use a dry cloth (preferably microfibre).

6 The ARCADE 3000 Software
Your games console incorporates 15 exciting games of various categories. The following is a brief description of the games and how to operate them.
6.1 Switching On and Selecting a Game
After switching the machine on, you will first see the title screen. Press button A (marked with a square) to view the main menu. You can now choose any of the 15 games. They are listed in alphabetical order. To select a game, highlight it and press the “square” button A to confirm your choice. Then off you go!
6.2 Game Descriptions
6.2.1 Bubble Blaster
In this classic game you have to match at least 3 balls of the same colour. You do this by shooting balls from a rotating cannon in the centre of the playing area. If your ball lands in the right spot, making up a group of 3 or more, these balls disappear and
front end of the chain of balls must not reach the end of the spiral, or you have lost!

6.2.2 Deep Storm
In this spectacular shoot-out you are fighting above the clouds against aliens who want to conquer the earth. You are the sole remaining pilot and mankind’s last hope. Destroy the bigger enemy units, and you collect upgrades such as more powerful ammunition for winning the fight.
Controls: A (square) : Fire (continuous) Navigator : Steer in corresponding direction
6.2.3 Dream Bubble
The idea here is to make a complete horizontal row out of the bubbles, which come in clusters of various shapes. As soon as one or more rows are formed, they burst. If things get awkward and you want to make some space, you can do so with one of your
3 bombs, which can be positioned as far up or down as you want. The bombs are replenished when you proceed to the next level.

(if you change your mind, dispose of it in an empty
space) Left/right : Move cluster Down : Make cluster drop quickly

6.2.4 Final Escape
As a small crocodile you have to try to crush your enemies by pushing blocks of stone against them. If you deal with them all within the allotted time without getting caught, you progress to the next level of difficulty. In addition you can collect bonus points
by bringing the “heart” blocks together. The wooden chests also contain goodies. Take care,
though – your enemies won’t let you have your way for long....
Controls: A (square) or
: Push or destroy stone
B (circle)
Navigator : Steer in corresponding
direction.
6.2.5 Final Round Tennis
Here you are playing a difficult game
of tennis against the computer. Play
forehand and backhand, short or long
shots to the right or left, and make
your opponent sweat! The usual
scoring system (15-30-40-60) applies,
and you need to be two “points” ahead
to win the game. After each game you swap ends. To win a complete contest, you must be at least 2 games up. If you beat your first opponent, the next one is ready waiting – and you can be sure he won’t make things any easier for you!
Controls: A (square) : Serve or return ball Navigator : Move player Up/down : When hitting – long shot (up) or
short (down)
Left/right : When hitting – aim left or right

6.2.6 Hero Legend
In this game the little hero has a tough task. He has to knock his enemies unconscious with his mallet. Then while they are lying on the ground he can pick them up and use them as missiles. For eating the food that they turn into, points are added
and bonuses are awarded. But beware – the enemies don’t stay unconscious for long. Mind you aren’t carrying one of them just when he comes round!
Controls: A (square) : Jump A turbo : Quickly repeated jumps B (circle) : Strike with mallet B turbo : Strike continuously Navigator : Move left or right
6.2.7 Jet Rush 2
This time you are in an extremely fast race with your computer opponent. But naturally you have to watch out: the course contains slow-moving boats, whirlpools and other hazards that you have to avoid in order to reach the finish safely. Use the ramps
to negotiate obstacles, and try not to get rammed! The first to reach the finishing line wins. And then
of course there is the clock too, which cannot be argued with....
Controls: A (square) : Accelerate B (circle) : Slow down Left/right : Steer left or right

6.2.8 Magic Jelly
The object is to alter the colouring of the rectangles in such a way that the entire playing area ends up in one colour. To do this, you hop from rectangle to rectangle and distribute your colour-change bombs within the allotted time. There are points for not
losing lives, and other bonuses to be collected. But don’t get caught by your enemies, and on no account jump off the edge, or you lose a life.
Controls: A (square) : Place a colour-change bomb
(always press button before landing)
Navigator : Move in corresponding
direction
6.2.9 Mr Onion
Mr Onion needs to gather up all the
keys in order to free his lady friend
from the enemies’ clutches. But don’t
get caught – you must either be quick
enough or else numb your enemies
with shots. On the uppermost level,
the leader of the baddies is waiting for
Mr Onion. Give him all the help you
can. He will need it. Controls: A (square) : Fire

direction

6.2.10 Pinball Fish
In this classic game you control your
paddle which steers the ball that
bounces off it. The idea is to eliminate
all the symbols without losing the ball.
Now and then some special features
will crop up, making the game still
more interesting – but not always
easier! There may be extra balls, or the paddle may get smaller, the balls may travel faster – all sorts of things may happen. Try it out!
Controls: A (square) : Start game Left/right : Move left or right
6.2.11 Pool Pro
A relaxed game of pool. Hit the balls
into the pockets, if possible in the
correct order. The next ball to be
potted is indicated at the bottom right.
The marker that moves to and fro in
the bottom left part of the screen
allows you to fix the power of your
shot: the further right the marker is, the greater the power. Just below this, the display shows the number of tries you have left and your current score. If you do well, you will make it to the championships!
Controls: : 1st press – Set power of shot
A (square)
2nd press – Carry out shot
B (circle) : (1) With marker moving: cancel
1st press on A
(2) Otherwise: attach numbers,
not colours, to balls on the table Up/down : Set rough direction of shot Left/right : Set exact direction of shot

6.2.12 Seek the Resources
Here you have to pick up all the treasures and objects in the pathways, if possible without being caught by your enemies and their traps. The enemies, of course, defend their treasures by shooting at you. You too can shoot and intercept their bombs, but your ammunition will quite soon
run out – so mind you use it sparingly. Controls: A (square) : Fire shot
A turbo : Fire burst Navigator : Move in corresponding direction
6.2.13 Tiger Rescue
An extra-terrestrial power has taken control of the machines people use, and there is no one left but you to rescue the world! Choose any of 4 fighter jets and defeat all your enemies from the air. Depending on the aircraft, you have 2 different
weapon systems at your disposal: a standard weapon with no restriction, or a few shots with an extra-powerful special weapon. With fresh resources that you can collect by defeating your major enemies, your fire power is boosted, giving you a better chance of winning.
Controls: A (square) : Fire shot with standard weapon A turbo : Fire burst with standard weapon B (circle) : Fire special weapon Navigator : Steer in corresponding direction

6.2.14 Totally Jet
In this jet ski race you have a
specified time for completing the
course that is marked out. Steer round
the obstacles and collect the bonus
points.
Controls: A (square) : Accelerate B (circle) : Slow down Left/right : Steer left and right
6.2.15 Win or Lose
Catch the balls with the mobile beam. You have only a few seconds in which to do so. The more balls you catch, the more points you score. Can you get them all? There should be a good 50 of them!
Controls: Navigator : Move left and right
6.3 Breaking Off a Game and Switching the Machine Off
To break off a game, press the RESET button. This takes you back to the menu of games. If you want to switch the machine off completely, this too can be done at any time, by pressing the ON/OFF button. If the ARCADE 3000 is left for 3 minutes without a button being pressed, it switches off automatically to conserve the batteries.
