Interrogator 900 Systems
Transceiver Unit
The transceiver unit is the central
component of your wireless system. It’s ease of
installation and setup has proven to be superior in
it’s class. With minimal effo rt your s ystem can be
operational, thus providing data to your collection
device within minutes.
Warning:
The manufacturer is not responsible for
any radio or TV interference caused by
unauthorized modifications to this
equipment. Such modifications could
void the user’s authority to operate the
equipment.
The NTXINT900 is a low power radio
transceiver / wireless devices. In August
of 1996, the A federal Communications
Commission (FCC) adopted RF (radio
frequency) exposure guidelines with
safety levels for wireless devices. To
maintain compliance with the FCC’s RF
exposure guidelines, the antennas must be
mounted so that the antennas are located
20 cm (8 inches) from the general
population. RF Exposure guidelines are
outlined in the FCC Office of Engineering
and Technology (OET publication
OET65. Use only supplied antennas by
the manufacturer to insure compliance.

Installation Basics
The Interrogator 900 transceiver board comes pre
manufactured in a metal nema case. Minimal
interaction with the system board is requir ed. You
will need only to connect the Cat5 data cable to your
collection unit, or the aux power supply unit should
the system be used in it’s repeater function.
The most important part of the installation is the
location. As an overview, the
based on 2 key factors.
1. To maintain compliance with the FCC’s RF
exposure guidelines, the antennas must be
mounted so that the antennas are located 11 cm
(5 inches) from the general population.
2. Placement of the 2 antennas. A minimum 10’
separation is suggested.
3. Minimal Cabling with regards to the antennas
from the
to the collector unit.
If the device is to be used as a
repeater unit, then you will
not need to be concerned with
the cabling to the collection
unit.
Location
1. Adhere to all safety
guideline requirements.
2. Install in a dry location, close to house power, 6’
to 10’ ideal.
3. Install in a secure location or elevated locations
as to prevent ease of tampering.
4. Location of system is to be either
the property, or at the highest location based on
the properties grade.
5. Install at the most unobtrusive location, adhering
to cosmetically sound practices.

User Guidelines
Your Interrogator 900 System
consists of a system board
and Metal Nema Enclosure.
The Enclosure contains 2
N-type feedthru’s for your
antenna
mounting brackets. The
connections and

feed thru also has on the
opposite ends SMB connectors, of which connect
to the P1 & P2 ports on the
board.
Installation of the Nema Enclosure is competed by
mounting the nema enclosure in a safe and dry
location, preferably in an attic or utility closet.
Your antenna connection cables should be
terminated at this location as well. Once your
Nema Enclosure has been mounted, connect the
the power to the
collector via the Cat5 connection patch cable
supplied. You will need to drill a 5/8” hole in a
location on the bottom of the
allow the Cat5 cable access. Connection to the
transceiver unit is supplied by the

antenna cables to the N-Type
feedthru’s.
If the

collector interface unit, the n

Nema Enclosure to
Transceiver Unit is located on the edge opposite
of the P1 & P2 ports, and a card edge jack for the
Cat5 cable.
Repeater Connection
If the Transceiver Unit is to be used in the
repeater application, then the only difference in
the installation is the power connection. The
transceiver unit has been internally
programmed to automatically detect it’s
function. Once it detects from which port the
power is being applied, the transceiver unit
switches to that mode of operation.
In the case of a repeater mode, the power is
provided by an aux power supply provided by
Midway Services, Inc.
It is connected to Port
J6 next to the Cat5
connector on the card
edge. You will need to
drill a hole into the
bottom of the Nema
