To set up the HEIN E recha rgeabl e handle , unscre w the botto m inser t (5) from the handl e module a nd inse rt
the rechargeable battery into the outer sleeve (4) as described in the rechargeable battery instructions. Screw
the bott om inser t back in.

Char ging of t he Li-ion L bat tery
The BETA 4 NT ha ndle is de signe d speci cally f or the use o f the Li-i on L recha rgeab le batte ry. To check the
batter y charge, the bot tom inse rts ar e equipp ed with a ch arge leve l indic ator.
The cha rge level in dicato r shows a co nstant o range w hen the ba tter y needs to b e recha rged.
With a full y disch arged ba tter y, the charg e level indi cator go es out an d the inst rument h ead is dis abled .
Attaching the instrument heads
Automatic Connector (AV)
Attach t he instr ument h ead onto th e handle f rom above i n such a way th at the con nector ts into the g uides
on the han dle head . Push the in strum ent into th e handle h ead until i t locks in p lace wit h an audib le ”click“.
To remove the ins trume nt head tur n the con nector (1) on th e handle h ead to the r ight with t he thumb a nd
foreng er and, u sing the ot her han d, pull the i nstrum ent hea d up and out .
Removing the instrument
To remove the hea d rotate it a nti-c lockw ise and p ull it off.
Operation
To activate the i nstrum ents pre ss the un lock but ton (2) and t urn the rh eosta t (3) cloc kwise. T he light i ntensi ty
is indic ated by the b ar .
Positio n ”1“ shows the ma ximum brightne ss; you ca n set any in termed iate level a s desir ed. To turn the
device off, turn the rheostat back to position ”0“.
Hygienic Reprocessing
Instructions on hygienic reprocessing must be adhered to, based on national standards, laws and guidelines.

Allow the d evice to co ol down be fore rep roces sing.
Before reprocessing, disconnect the device from the power source.

The handle is not designed for continuous use. The operating time of the handle depends on the
maximum operating time of the examination head.

Check the rechargeable batteries regularly. In case of any abnormalities in the operating or recharging
times, replace the rechargeable batteries.
If the rechargeable battery has not been recharged for a long period it may discharge automatically.
Precautions for HEINE rechargeable batteries
Do not put i nto re, do n ot shor t-circu it, do not m odify, do no t steril ize, do not dr op, do not exp ose to
severe sh ocks or to di rect su nlight.
