SAFETY INFORMATION
Congratulations on your new Midea dryer. This manual contains important information on the
installation, use and care of your appliance. Please read this manual carefully before use. Follow
instructions and keep the manual for future reference.

Safety information
1. The tumble dryer is not to be used if industrial chemicals have been used for cleaning.
2. The lint trap has to be cleaned frequently.
3. Lint must not to be allowed to accumulate around the tumble dryer.
4. Adequate ventilation has to be provided to avoid the back flow of gases into the room from appliance
burning other fuels, including open fires.
5. Do not dry unwashed items in the tumble dryer.
6. Items that have been soiled with substance such as cooking oil, acetone, alcohol, petrol, kerosene,
spot removers, turpentine, waxes and wax removers should be washed in hot water with an extra
amount of detergent before being dried in the tumble dryer.
7. Items such as foam rubber (latex form), shower caps, waterproof textiles, rubber backed articles and
clothes or pillows fitted with foam rubber pads should not be dried in the tumble dryer.
8. Fabric softeners, or similar products, should be used as specified by the fabric softener instructions.
9. The final part of a tumble dryer cycle occurs without heat (cool down cycle) to ensure that the items are
left at a temperature that ensures that items will not be damaged.
10. WARNING: never stop a tumble dryer before the end of the drying cycle unless all items are quickly
removed and spread out so that the heat is dissipated.
11. The exhaust air must not be discharged into a flue which is used for exhausting fumes from appliance
burning gas or other fuels.
12. The appliance must not be installed behind a lockable door, a sliding door or a door with a hinge on the
opposite side to that of the tumble dryer. In such a way that a full opening of the tumble dryer door is
restricted.
13. Oil-affected items can ignite spontaneously, especially when exposed to heat sources such as in a
tumble dryer. The items become warm, causing an oxidation reaction in the oil. Oxidation creates heat.
If the heat cannot escape, the items can become hot enough to catch fire. Piling, stacking or storing oil-
affected items can prevent heat from escaping and so create a fire hazard.

14. If it is unavoidable that fabrics that contain vegetable or cooking oil or have been contaminated by hair
care products be placed in a tumble dryer they should first be washed in hot water with extra detergent-
this will reduce, but not eliminate, the hazard.
15. The appliance should not be overturned during normal use or maintenance.
16. Remove all objects from pockets such as lighters and matches.
17. For appliances with ventilation openings in the base, that a carpet must not obstruct the openings.
18. If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly
qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
19. This appliance is for indoor use only.
20. The openings must not be obstructed by a carpet.
21. Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
22. The appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
23. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Precautions
Ÿ Install or store the dryer where it will not be exposed to temperature below freezing or exposed to
water or the weather, which could cause permanent damage and invalidate the warranty.
Ÿ Do not spray combustible aerosols near the dryer during use. If accidental spray occurs do not
touch the plug or Start/Pause button.
Ÿ Do not operate the dryer if it is damaged, malfunctioning, partially disassembled or has missing or
broken parts.
Ÿ Do not use the machine when your foot or hands are wet.
Ÿ When the dryer is working, the back side will become hotter. Close supervision of children is
necessary when the appliance is used near children.
Ÿ Do not store plastic, paper or clothing that may burn or melt on top of the dryer during operation.
Information on disposal
Most of the packing material used is recyclable. Please separate the plastic and cardboard and
dispose through your local recycling depot or place in appropriate recycling collection bins.
If disposing of this appliance, please contact your local authority for safe disposal. Cut off the main
cable, break or remove spring or bolt catches if fixed to prevent children from getting trapped or
harming themselves.

SIMPLE INSTALLATION
Dryer installation options
The dryer must be installed in a suitable dry and well ventilated location. Ensure that the full
opening of dryer door is not restricted.
There are several different ways you can install your dryer.
Free standing
The dryer stands on the floor or on a workbench. Ensure that it
is placed on a level surface and there is at least 50mm air
clearance between the back of the dryer and the wall to allow
for airflow.

Upright wall mounting
The mounting accessories allow the dryer to be installed at any
desired height minimizing the amount of bending and
stretching.
Inverted wall mounting
The mounting accessories along with inverted control panel and
protective cover allow you to install the dryer above a washer or
tub. Inverting the dryer allows easy access to the control panel
even though the dryer is mounted high on the wall.

SIMPLE INSTALLATION
Dryer wall mounting instructions
WARNING: Make sure that the mounting wall is of sufficient strength to support the dryer
weight. Use two or more people to move and install the dryer, failure to do so can result in
personal injury.
Determine the position of the dryer on the wall ensuring that the power outlet is easily accessible.
Note: It is not recommended that the dryer is connected to an extension lead.
- A minimum of 50mm is needed between the top of the dryer and the ceiling for ease of
installation.
- If mounting above a top load washer, allow sufficient room to open the lid of the washer.
1. Use a leveller or measure to determine the position of the horizontal drilling template on the wall.
Temporarily fix in place with tape, then adhere the two vertical templates to the left and right sides
ensuring a 90 angle (Fig.1).
Note: Allow at least 100mm from the top of the horizontal drilling template to the ceiling as once in
place, the dryer will sit approximately 50mm above the hanging hooks (Fig. 2).

2. Use a 12mm drill bit to drill 8 holes into the wall as positioned on the template.
3. Fit the expansion screw bolts into each hole and remove the template from the wall.
4. Attach the 2 hanging hooks to the top bolts, and the left and right support brackets and damper
gaskets to the bottom bolts (Fig.3).

5. The dryer can be mounted in an upright or inverted position (inverting the dryer will make the
control panel more accessible). Carefully lift the dryer and hang it on the top 2 hanging hooks.
Ensure the hooks are securely sitting inside the holes and slowly release the weight of the dryer
onto the bottom support brackets.
6. If the dryer has been inverted, install the plastic cover on the top of the machine, and replace the
control panel with the inverted panel sticker.
Note: All tapes must be removed before operating the dryer.

BEFORE YOU DRY
Capacity
The maximum capacity of your dryer (when the load is dry) is 7kg.
Note: Overloading the machine will affect the drying performance, and may damage items.
Sorting and loading
To get the most efficient use of your dryer we recommend you sort your loads.
Ÿ Look for a care label on your clothes. This will tell you if they can be safely tumble dried.
Ÿ Close zippers, hooks and eyes, etc to reduce snagging and tangling.
Drying times
Ÿ Drying very small loads is inefficient. Try to dry medium to large loads.
Ÿ Sort your clothes into loads that take a similar time to dry, e.g. heavier items (towels, T-shirts,
flannelette sheets) from light items (synthetics and polyester cotton sheets and shirts). This will
prevent some garments becoming over dried while others are still damp.
Ÿ Spin clothes at the highest spin speed suitable for the load type. The more water you remove in
the wash, the less time the load will need to dry (NEVER put dripping wet clothes in or on top of
the dryer as excessive water could cause an electrical hazard).

Ÿ Shake clothes out and load individually to help clothes dry evenly.
Ÿ Launder permanent press garments separately, e.g. business shirts.
Ÿ Allow enough room for clothes to tumble freely when loading.
Ÿ Hang garments as soon as the dryer cycle is completed to reduce the need for ironing.

DRYING GUIDE
Always check your labels for the drying symbols to ensure they are suitable for drying in a tumble
dryer.
May be tumble dried Normal drying (high temperature)
Do not tumble dry Delicate drying (low temperature)
Ÿ Permanent press and synthetics - take out as soon as the dryer stops to reduce wrinkles.
Ÿ Woollen articles - not recommended. Pull them to their original shape, then dry them flat.
Ÿ Woven and loop knit materials - may shrink, by varying amounts, depending on their quality.
Use the “Synthetic” setting for these fabrics. Always stretch them out immediately after drying.
Ÿ Baby clothes and night gowns - acrylic clothing or sleep wear use only the “Synthetic” setting.
Ÿ Rubber and plastics - do not dry any items made from or containing rubber or plastics, such as
aprons, bibs, babies’s waterproof napkins, curtains, tablecloths, shower caps, clothes fitted with
foam rubber pads, pillows, galoshes, or rubber coated tennis shoes.
Fabric softeners or similar products should not be used in a tumble dryer to eliminate the effects of
static electricity unless this practice is specifically recommended by the manufacturer of the fabric
softener or product.

CONTROL FEATURES AND FUNCTIONS

1 On / Off button
This button switches the dryer on. At the end of the program, press the button again to switch the
dryer off.
2 Start / Pause button
This button allows you to start or pause the dryer to check the contents of the load or perhaps add
more clothes to the load.
3 Program button
Is used to select the desired program. Programs available are:
Mix, Cotton, Synthetic, 1 hour
Choose the program to suit your load using the guide opposite.
4 Child Lock
The Child Lock option is used to stop the settings from being changed once a program has been
started. It does not affect the On/Off switch.
To select this option press the Program and Dryness Level buttons together for 3 seconds until the
Lock light illuminates. Repeat this process to deactivate the child lock.
5 Dryness level button
Is used to select the desired dryness level. Levels available are:
Extra, Medium, Light
Choose the dryness level to suit your load.
Different programs and dryness levels will operate at different temperatures and drying times.
Note: When a new program or dryness level is selected while the dryer is already running, the
drying process will continue using the settings from the new program or dryness level.

6 Anti-Crease
The Anti-Crease feature is designed to minimise the creasing that occurs when the clothes are left
to sit in the dryer.
After the cycle has finished, the drum will intermittently rotate so that the clothes do not settle in
one position.
Standard Anti-crease phase is 30 minutes. If Anti-Crease button is selected, this process will be
extended to 2 hours.

There is a safety cut out switch located at the back of the unit. If the dryer over heats, this switch will
activate and operation of the dryer will cease. This button must be reset before operation of the dryer
can resume.
Allow at least 10 minutes for the dryer to cool down before attempting to reset the safety switch.
Locate the white button along the back of the unit and press firmly until you feel the reset click.
The cut out switch may activate for the following reasons:
- Lint filter is blocked
- Exhaust outlet is blocked
- Poor ventilation in the room
- A lightweight garment has been sucked over the lint filter
The most common reason for the dryer to overheat is a blocked filter. Be sure to clean the lint filter
after each load to prevent overheating the appliance.

OPERATION
1. Load your dryer loosely until it is no more than TWO THIRDS FULL. Clothes must tumble freely in
the dryer. Do not cram them in as wet clothes fluff up when dry.
Overloading will:
- Reduce efficiency
- Increase drying time
- Increase the risk of creasing
2. Press and release the On / Off button on the control panel.
3. Select a program and dryness level based on your laundry load.
4. Press the Start / Pause button to start the dryer.
When the drying program has finished its last heat cycle the buzzer will sound once, and the
program will begin a cooling cycle. This is important as it removes stored heat from the clothes and
helps prevent creasing. At the end of the cooling the buzzer will sound again to indicate your
clothes are dry.
The appliance continues to operate with the anti-crease phase for approximately other 30 minutes
or 2 hours (if Anti-Crease button is pressed).
Note:
Ÿ When program is started, indicator light of selected program flashes.
Ÿ When anti-crease phase begins, indicator light of anti-crease flashes. Indicator light of selected
program is on but does not flash.
Ÿ When anti-crease phase is completed, all lights are off and unit will be switched off
automatically.
5. Laundry can be removed during anti-crease phase or when it is completed.
Note: Press the On / Off button to turn off the power if you remove laundry before anti-crease
phase is completed.
WARNING: Never stop a tumble dryer before the end of the cycle unless all items are quickly
removed and spread out so that the heat is dissipated.
6. Switch off at the power point. It is not recommended that the power be left on to the dryer.
7. Clean the lint filter after every load to reduce drying times and avoid overheating.

HINTS
Ÿ Never tumble dry the following: delicate items such as net curtains, wool, silk, fabric with metal
trim, nylon tights, bulky materials such as anoraks, blankets, sleeping bags, feather quilts and any
item containing rubber foam or materials similar to foam rubber.
Ÿ Do not place in your dryer undergarments such as bras and corsets that contain metal
reinforcements. Your dryer may be damaged if metal parts were to come loose from the garment.
Place such items in a bag designed for this purpose.
Ÿ Check and empty pockets. Clips, pens, nails and pins can damage both the dryer and your
clothes. Other items such as matches or cigarette lighters will cause a fire.
Ÿ Close all press studs, hooks, eyes and zips that may catch on something else. Tie all belts and
apron strings to prevent tangling.
Ÿ Drying time will depend on fabric type and construction, load size and wetness. Save time and
money and always spin the load as dry as possible in your washing machine.
Ÿ Drying time will also be affected by voltage fluctuations, room temperature and humidity. Clothes
will dry more slowly on a cool or humid day.
Ÿ For best result, sort the load according to fabric types such as heavy items which may take longer
to dry, e.g. towels, flannelette sheets etc, to ones which dry quickly, e.g. poly/cotton shirts and
sheets.
Ÿ Avoid drying dark clothes with light coloured items such as towels as lint will show on the dark
clothes.
Note: Some fabrics will collect lint from other clothes and items. Separate the lint “givers” and the
lint “collectors” to minimise this problem.
Ÿ Always clean the lint filter - this will reduce drying time and save you money.
Ÿ The laundry must be thoroughly spun before tumble drying.
Ÿ To avoid static charge when drying is completed, use either a fabric softener when you are
washing the laundry or a fabric conditioner specifically for tumble dryers.
Ÿ Remove the laundry when the dryer has finished drying.
Ÿ Do not over-dry laundry, this avoids creasing and saves energy.
Ÿ Clothes or towels containing sand or grit should be washed before placing in dryer.
Ÿ Due to variations in dryer load, fabric, texture and thickness, it is possible that not all items will be
dried evenly. If you experience uneven dryness, use the Cotton program on Extra dry but be
mindful of the type of fabric being dried to avoid over drying certain types of fabric. Always follow
drying instructions attached to the items intended to be dried in a clothes dryer.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Ÿ Always disconnect the clothes dryer from the mains power source before performing any
maintenance or cleaning of the appliance.
Ÿ For optimal performance, regular maintenance and cleaning is highly recommended.
Ÿ Regular maintenance will extend the service life of the clothes dryer.
Cleaning the lint filter
Ÿ Lint build-up is a fire hazard.
Ÿ A clean lint filter reduces drying time, saves energy and avoids
overheating.
Ÿ Overheating may also damage your clothes.
The lint filter is located at the front of your dryer at the bottom of the
door opening.
1. To remove the lint filter, open the door and pull the filter out of the
door pocket.
2. Open apart the lint filter and wipe or peel off the lint.
3. Close the lint filter and place it back in the pocket.
You must clean this lint filter after every load.
Ÿ Never operate your dryer without the lint filter.
Ÿ Do not allow lint to build around your dryer.
Ÿ A torn or damaged lint filter must be replaced immediately.
Ÿ Overloading can increase lint build-up because the airflow is
reduced.
To avoid potential fire hazards, we recommend that you pay a
qualified service technician to periodically clean your dryer.
You must do this also when you change your mounting from
upright to inverted, or vice versa.

Cleaning the outer surface and inner tub
To clean the cabinet and inner tub, use a damp cloth and wipe dry.
Note: Cleansers such as soap powder, abrasive cleaning power,
alkali cleansers, chemical cloth, thinners, alcohol, acid petroleum
products and hot water should not be used to clean the dryer as
they may damage the painted cover and plastics.

If the clothes dryer does not perform as expected, malfunctions, or an alarm is sounding, please
check the following list of possible solutions.
If a solution cannot be found or the problem persists, please contact Midea service (refer to page 16).
Do not, under any circumstance, dismantle the appliance yourself.
