SUBJECT
Bakery product jamming in Model TC14 and TC18 Conveyor Toasters
GENERAL
Some customers have reported jamming problems when operating Model TC14 and TC18 Conveyor Toasters. Many of these jamming problems can be solved by configuring the toaster for rear-exit operation. In this configuration, the product slides directly off the end of the conveyor belt and out of the toaster. This minimizes the chance of the product jamming against the roof of the toasting chamber.
APPLICATION
If a service call is received for a TC14 or TC18 toaster that has experienced jamming problems, suggest to the customer that rear-exit operation is less likely to cause these problems. If space permits, and if the customer agrees with the change, convert the toaster as follows:
1. Check that the toaster has been disconnected from its electrical power supply.
2. Remove the CENTER screw from the rear panel of the toaster, as shown in Figure 2.
3. Push the rear panel forward into the toaster.
4. Position the return tray underneath the toaster as shown in Figure 3. Note that the return tray extends past the REAR
of the toaster during rear-exit operation.
Note that on older TC14 toasters, it will be necessary to remove the wire exit rack (not shown in the illustrations below) in order to move the rear panel. This rack is not present on current-production TC14 toasters.
