Certification information (SAR)
This mobile device meets international guidelines for exposure toradio waves.
Your mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It isdesignednotto exceed the limits forexposure to radio waves (radio frequencyelectromagnetic fields),recommended by internationalguidelinesfromthe independent scientificorganization ICNIRP. These guidelinesincorporate substantial safety margins that areintended to assuretheprotection of all persons regardlessof age andhealth. The exposure guidelines are based on the SpecificAbsorption Rate (SAR),which isan expression of the amount of radio frequency (RF) powerdeposited in the head orbody when the device is transmitting. TheICNIRP SAR limitfor mobile devices is2.0 W/kg averaged over 10 gramsof tissue.SARtests arecarried out with the device in standard operating positions, transmittingat its highest certified power level, in all its frequency bands. The maximum recorded SAR values for this device are:
When held againstthe head
When operated at aseparation distance

Your mobile device is also designedto meet the United States FederalCommunicationsCommission(FCC) guidelines. FCC ratings for yourdevice andmore information on SAR can be found attransition.fcc.gov/oet/rfsafety/sar.html.This device meets RF exposure guidelines when used against the heador whenpositionedat least 1.5 centimetres(5/8inch) away from thebody. When a carry case, belt cliporotherform of device holder is usedfor body-worn operation, itshould not contain metal and should provideat least the above stated separation distance from the body.To send data or messages, a goodconnection tothe network is needed.Sending may bedelayeduntil such a connection is available. Follow theseparation distance instructionsuntil the sending is finished.During general use, the SAR values are usually well below the valuesstatedabove. This is because, for purposes ofsystem efficiency and tominimise interference on the network, the operating power of yourmobileis automatically decreased when full power is not neededfor thecall. The lower the power output, the lower the SAR value.Device models may havedifferentversions andmorethan one value.Component and designchanges may occur over time and some changescould affect SAR values. The latest available SARinformation for this andother Microsoft Mobile device models can be foundatwww.microsoft.com/mobile/sar.The World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that currentscientificinformation does notindicate the need for any special precautions whenusing mobile devices. If you areinterested inreducing your exposure, they recommend you limit your usage oruse a hands-free kit to keepthe device away from your head and body.
