Introduction
Micronet SP170 Gigabit adapter transforms your notebook PCs into
powerful Gigabit workstations. It features latest 1000M technology
and it is fully compatible with existing 10/100M networks. SP170
dramatically improves network performance up to 2000M with
full-duplex operations. With this hot-swappable, plug-and-play
adapter, notebook PCs users can now implement the Gigabit
network so easily and transfer huge files at the fastest speed ever.

Installation
This section describes how to install the adapter for Windows.
Install the adapter
1. Start the computer
2. Hold the card with label up and gently slide the card into
CardBus slot of notebook, make sure the card is firmly placed
in the socket.
3. Windows will automatically detect the new hardware device.
4. In the Found New Hardware Wizard windows, it will guide you
to install the necessary device drivers for this card. Click Next
to continue.
5. Select install from a list or specific location (Advanced) to
search the best installation driver. Click Next to continue.
6. Click Browse to select the location where you load the device
driver. Click Next to start the search.
7. Windows will prompt you to select the appropriate driver.
8. Click Yes in the Digital Signature Not Found window to
continue.
9. Wait for seconds while Windows copies the appropriate driver
to your system.
10. Click Finish to complete the installation.
11. User can check whether the card is ready or not. Go to System
of Control Panel, select Device Manager, click Network

Adapter. If it display as Realtek RTL8169/8110 Family
Gigabit Ethernet NIC, the card is ready.
12. Connect the attached RJ-45 port with an Ethernet switch.
13. Now you are ready to use the adapter.
Hot Swap
This Gigabit adapter has hot-swap function. But, before you remove
the PC card from CardBus slot, please click the Adapter icon on
task bar and select stop to force this adapter to be inactive. When
prompt You may safely remove this device appear, click OK and
remove your Gigabit Adapter.
