Operating Instructions
WARNING!
The electrode pins are very sharp. Keep the cap on the instrument
when not in use and use care when taking measurements.
The MM100 automatically switches on when the protective cap is
removed. To conserve battery life the meter will turn off after 15 minutes. To turn back on either briefly install the protective cap or press on
the yellow switch located between the measurement electrodes.
To measure:
1. Turn the instrument on by removing the protective cap.
2. Press the measurement pins into the material being measured.
• When measuring the moisture in wood, insert the pins across
the grain of the wood and not in line with the grain.
3. Take multiple readings to obtain the best indication of moisture in
the material.
4. Reinstall the protective cap to turn power off.
The display has two scales based on the material being measured. The
left scale is for wood based products such as timber, cardboard or paper,
and the right side is for hardened material such as plaster, concrete and
m o r t a r . The center of the display is the scale with both continuous lines
and dashed lines.
To read the display:
1. Read the wood range of 6 to 44%.
• Solid lines are even values: 6, 8, 10, 12 etc.
• Dashed lines are odd values: 7, 9, 11, 13 etc.
2. Read the building material range of 0.2 to 2.0%.
• Solid lines are even values: 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 etc.
• Dashed lines are odd values: 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 0.9 etc.
