This predictive clinical digital electronic thermometer is for the intermittent
measurement and monitoring of human adult and pediatric body temperatures;
orally, rectally and under the arm.
This thermometer can be used with or without a tip
cover. To use a cover, slide onto sensor tip until fully
engaged and peel off paper. Covers are for single
use, do not reuse. If thermometer has been in a
cold
environment, allow it to warm up to room
temperature
for about 15 minutes before use. Avoid
storing at temperatures above 140˚ (60˚ C).
This thermometer IS intended to be used:
• For self-measurement/monitoring of human body temperature whereas the
person being measured may be the user/operator of the device.
• Orally, Rectally and Under the Arm (axillary).
• Adults
• Pediatric
This thermometer IS NOT intended for use with:
• Neonatal
General Warnings
• Contact your physician in case of prolonged fever as this requires medical attention,
especially for young children.
• Self-measuring means monitoring, not diagnosis or treatment. Under no circumstances should you independently alter the dosages of any drugs prescribed by
your physician.
• Do not use this device if you think it is damaged or anything appears unusual (e.g.
sporadic operation, open packaging upon purchase).
• To avoid possible injury, do not run or walk while using this device.
• Ensure that children are supervised around this medical device; some parts are
small enough to be swallowed.
• Keep batteries away from children; harmful if swallowed.
• Do not dispose of the battery or device in fire; the battery may explode.
• Do not use a metal tool to replace the battery; doing so may short circuit the terminals.
• Do not attempt to recharge the battery as they are not rechargeable.
• Only open the thermometer battery cover to replace the battery (when applicable);
and replace all batteries at the same time if more than one is required for the
thermometer. We do not recommend the use of rechargeable batteries for
replacements.
• Do not open/modify this device; inaccuracy and/or harmful injury may result.
• Performance of this thermometer may be degraded if used outside of its specified
operation temperature and humidity rating, or if stored outside of its specified
storage temperature and humidity rating. Avoid dust or storage in direct sunlight.
• Performance of this thermometer may be degraded if the device is exposed to
mechanical shock.
• Performance of this thermometer may be degraded if the patient’s temperature is
lower than that of the ambient.
• Performance of this thermometer may be degraded if the tip is dirty or damaged;
ensure the tip is clean before using.
• Performance of this thermometer may be degraded if the probe cover is dirty or a
probe cover not intended for use with this device is used.
• Any probe covers that may be included in this device package are for single use only.
• This device contains sensitive electronics components. Avoid strong electrical
or
electromagnetic fields in the direct vicinity of the device (e.g., mobile telephones,
microwave ovens). These can lead to temporary impairment of the measuring
accuracy. Move the device to another location if interference is determined.
Maintain a minimum distance of 3.3 m from such devices when using this unit.
• According to international standards, your device should be checked for
accuracy every 2 years.
How to Take a Temperature:
Press power button to turn unit on. Display should read “188.8” to confirm normal
function. An “Err” message indicates unit is not working properly. The last
recorded measurement will show for 2 seconds, followed by a large “L” and a
flashing “F” or “C”, indicating that thermometer is ready for use.
Oral Use:
• Do not drink hot or cold liquids or exercise before use.
• Place sensor tip under tongue as shown in Figure A.
• Accurate temperature reading will take approximately
8 seconds with proper use. An open mouth or
improper placement could make reading take longer.
Underarm Use:
• Wipe underarm with dry towel.
• Place sensor tip in armpit and lower arm against body
as shown in Figure B.
• Accurate temperature reading will take approximately
15-20 seconds with proper use.
Reading the Temperature:
For readings 99.5˚ F (37.5˚ C) and below, the thermometer beeps 5 times and the
display shows a green back light for 3 seconds to indicate temperature is
within normal range.
For readings above 99.5˚ F (37.5˚ C), the thermometer emits a series of short,
rapid beats and the display shows a red back light for 5 seconds to indicate a
possible high temperature.
If battery is low, back light will not function until battery is replaced.
Changing from °F to °C:
With the thermometer turned off, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Release and press again to toggle between °F or °C. When you’ve made your
selection, wait 3 seconds for °F or °C to start blinking and press the button
again to confirm your selection. When you turn your thermometer on again the
next time, it will be set to your selection.
How to Clean:
Clean thermometer before and after every use. There are 2 cleaning options below:
1. Alcohol: Clean sensor tip with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Wipe dry with sterile
cotton ball.
2. Dishwasher Safe: To clean in dishwasher, place thermometer on top rack
only. Run dishwasher on normal cleaning cycle. High heat drying cycle is
NOT recommended.
How to Change Battery:
Replace battery when “ ” appears on display.Insert
coin into groove on battery lid. Rotate counterclockwise
to open. Replace old battery with new battery (3V,
CR1632). Plus (+) sign should face upward.Replace lid
and rotate coin clockwise to close.
Limited Warranty:
This thermometer is warrantied for 5 years by Microlife USA Inc, against
manufacturer defects for the original purchaser only, from date of purchase.
The 5 year warranty applies to the thermometer. Batteries and case are not
covered by this warranty. There are no user serviceable parts inside.
The warranty does not apply to consequential and incidental damages, or
damage caused by batteries, improper handling, and accidents. Professional
use, not following the operating instructions, and alterations made to the
device or accessory by third parties, are also not included in this warranty.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential
damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
Microlife USA Inc will investigate your concern. A product as defined by this
warranty, determined to be out of specification, will be replaced and shipped
to you at no cost. A product or accessory as defined by this warranty, determined to
be within specification, will be returned to you with a report of findings,
at no cost.

Test Protocol (for laboratory use only):
1. Place thermometer into waterbath. The tip of the thermometer should be
approximately 2cm below the surface.
2. Wait for 10 seconds, then turn the thermometer on by pressing the “On/Off”
button. The thermometer is now in test mode.
3. When the measurement is completed, record the temperature reading;
there will be no audible or visible signal while in test mode.

Este termómetro puede ser utilizado con o sin una
cubierta de punta. Para utilizar una cubierta,
deslice

Cómo tomar la temperatura:
Pulse el botón de encendido para encender la unidad. La pantalla debe leer
"188,8" para confirmar la función normal. Un mensaje "Err" indica que la unidad
no está funcionando correctamente. La última de las mediciones que se
mostrará durante 2 segundos, seguido por una gran "L" y un "F" intermitente o
"
C", lo que indica que el termómetro está listo para su uso.
Vía oral:
•
No beba líquidos calientes o fríos o hacer ejercicio antes
de el uso.
• Coloque el sensor de punta debajo de la lengua como se
muestra en la Figura A.

a lectura de la temperatura exacta tomará aproximadamente
8 segundos
con el uso adecuado
. Una boca abierta o
colocación incorrecta
puede hacer que la lectura tome más
tiempo.
Utilice las axilas:
• Limpie la axila con una toalla seca.
•
Coloque el sensor de punta en la axila y el antebrazo contra
el cuerpo como se muestra en la Figura B.
•
La lectura de la temperatura exacta tomará aproximadamente
15-20 segundos con el uso adecuado.
Lectura de la Temperatura:
Para las lecturas de 99.5 ˚
F (37,5
˚
C
) y por debajo, el termómetro suena 5 veces y la
pantalla muestra una luz de fondo verde durante 3 segundos para indicar la temperatura
está dentro del rango normal.
Para las lecturas por encima de 99,5

), el termómetro emite una
serie de golpes cortos y rápidos y la pantalla muestra una luz de fondo de
color
rojo durante 5 segundos para indicar que una temperatura alta sea posible.
Si la batería está baja, luz de fondo no funcionará hasta que se sustituye la batería.
Cambio de °F a °C:
Con el termómetro apagado, presione y mantenga presionado el botón de encendido
durante 5 segundos. Suelte y pulse de nuevo para alternar entre °F o °C. Cuando
haya realizado su selección, esperar 3 segundos para °F o °C a empezar a parpadear
y pulse el botón otra vez para confirmar su selección. Al encender el termómetro
de nuevo la próxima vez, que se establecerá en la selección.
Cómo limpiar:
Limpie el termómetro antes y después de cada uso. Hay dos opciones de limpieza:

Cómo cambiar la batería:
Reemplace la batería cuando aparece “ ” en la pantalla.
Inserte moneda en la ranura en la tapa de la batería. Gire a
la izquierda para abrir. Reemplace la batería vieja por una
nueva (3V, CR1632). Más (+) signo deben apuntar hacia
arriba. Vuelva a colocar la tapa y gire con la moneda hacia
la derecha para cerrar.
Garantía Limitada:
Su termómetro digital está garantizado por Microlife USA Inc., por 5
añso por defectos
de manufactura solamente para el comprador original desde la fecha de compra.
La garantía de 5 años aplica solo al termómetro. Las pilas y la tapa no están cu
biertas
por esta garantía. Dentro de la unidad no hay partes que le sirvan al usuario.
La garantía no aplica a daños consecuentes o incidentales,o daños causados por
las pilas o mal manejo y accidentes. Uso profesional, no siguiendo el manual de
instrucciones, y alteraciones hechas al dispositivo o accesorios por terceros, están
también excluidos en esta garantía. Algunos estados no permiten la exclusión o

Protocolo de Ensayo (para uso de laboratorio):
