rimpiazzo e controllo di ogni sua parte e/o quando non utilizzato.
IMPORTANTE: per installare i dadi delle ruote, è importante regolare al minimo la velocità, poi utilizzare una chiave dinamometrica per
regolare il serraggio. Per il serraggio dei dadi delle ruote, seguire le indicazioni del costruttore.

WARNING! Always disconnect the air tool from the air compressor before changing tools, accessories, servicing and during non-operation.
IMPORTANT: When securing wheel nuts it is important to set the regulator to the minimum setting, then use a torque wrench to set

fastener torque. Wheel nuts must be tightened to the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendation.

ATTENTION : Toujours débrancher l'outil du compresseur avant d'effectuer une activité quelconque, inspection, entretien, nettoyage,

remplacement et contrôle de pièces et/ou lorsqu'il n'est pas utilisé.
IMPORTANT : pour installer les écrous de roue, il est important d'ajuster la vitesse minimum, puis utilisez une clé dynamométrique pour
ajuster l'étanchéité. Pour serrage des écrous de roue, suivez les instructions du fabricant.

dynamometrische sleutel gebruikt worden om de sluiting te regelen. Voor de sluiting van de moeren van de wielen moeten de aanwijzingen
van de constructeur gevolgd worden.

3. UTILIZZ ARE SEMPRE OCC HIALI DI PR OTEZIONE

Utilizzare sempre occhiali o equivalenti protezioni per gli occhi.
Non indirizzare l’aria compressa verso nessuna parte del c orpo
proprio o di altri.

4. PROTEGGI TE STESSO CONTRO GLI SHOCK ELETTRICI

Prevenir e contatt i acciden tali del c orpo con l e parti metall iche del
compressore come tubi, serbatoio o parti di metallo c ollegate a
terra. Non usar e mai il compressore in presenza di acqua o di
ambient i u mid i.

5. SCOLLEGARE IL COMPRESSORE

Scollegare il compressore dalla fonte elettrica e scaricare
completamente il serbatoio dalla pressione prima di effettuare
qualsiasi servizio, ispezione, manutenzione, pulizia rimpiazzo o
controll o di og ni par t e.

6. PARTENZE ACCIDENTALI

Non trasportare il compressore mentre è collegato alla fonte
elettric a o quand o il serb atoio è sott o pression e. Assicur arsi che
l’interruttore del pressostato sia nella posizione OFF prima di
collegare il compressore alla fonte elettrica.

7. STOCCARE IL COMPRESSORE IN MANIERA APPROPRIATA

Quando i l compr essore n on è utiliz zato dev e esser e tenuto i n un
locale s ecco al ripar o dagli agen ti atmosf erici. Ten ere lontan o dai
bambini.

8. AREA DI LAVORO

Tenere la zona di lavoro pulit a eventu almente liberar e l’area da
utensil i non necess ari. Tener e l’area di lavor o ben ventil ata. Non
usare il c ompressore i n presenza di li quidi infi ammabili o gas. I l
compr essore può pr odurre sc intill e durante il f unzion amento. N on

usare il c ompre ss ore i n sit u azion i d ove s i pos s ono t rovar e vernic i,
benzine, sostanze chimiche, adesivi e ogni altro materiale
combust i bi l e o esplosivo.

9. TENERE LONTANO I BAMBINI

Evitare che bambini o qualsiasi altra persona entri in contatto con il
cavo di alimentazione del compressore, tutti gli estranei devono
essere t enut i ad una distan z a di sic ur ezza dall a zon a di l avoro.

10. INDUMENTI DI LAVORO

Non indossare abiti voluminosi o gioielleria, questi potrebbero
essere catturati dalle parti in movimento. Indossare cuffie che
coprano i capelli se necessario.

11. NON ABUSARE DEL CAVO DI ALIMENTAZIONE

Non scollegare la spina di corrente tirando il cavo di alimentazione.
Tenere il c avo lont ano dal c alore, d all’olio e d a superfic i tagli enti.
Non calpestare il cavo elettrico o schiacciarlo con pesi inadeguati.

12. MANTENERE IL COM PRESS ORE CO N CUR A

Seguire le istruzioni per la lubrificazione (non valido per oilless).
Ispezionare il cavo di alimentazione periodicamente e se
danneggiato deve essere riparato o sostituito da un centro
assistenza autorizzato. Verificare l’aspetto esterno del
compressore che non presenti anomalie visive. Rivolgersi
eventu al m ent e al più vicin o centr o ass is tenza.

13. PROLUNG HE ELETT R ICHE PER UTI LIZ ZO ESTERNO

Quando il compr essor e è usato esternam ente util izzar e solament e
prolunghe elettriche destinate all’uso esterno e marcate per
questo.

14. ATT ENZIONE

Fate attenzione a cosa state facendo. Usate il buon senso
comune. Non usate il compressore quando siete stanchi. Il
compressore non deve essere mai usato se siete sotto l’effetto
dell’alcool, droga o medicinali che possano indurre sonnolenza.

15. CONTROLLARE PARTI DIFETTOSE O PERDITE DI ARIA

Prima di utili zzare nu ovament e il compress ore, se una pr otezione
o altre parti sono danneggiate devono essere controllate
attentamente per determinare se possono funzionare come
previsto in sicurezza. Controllare allineamento di parti in
movimento, tubi, manomentri, riduttori di pressione, connessioni
pneumatiche e ogni altra parte che può avere importanza nel
funzionamento normale. Ogni parte danneggiata deve essere
propriamente riparata o rimpiazzata da un servizio assistenza
autoriz zato o sostitui to come indic ato nel librett o istruzioni . NON

UTILIZZARE IL COMPRESSORE SE IL PRESSOSTATO E’
DIFETTOSO.

16. UTILIZZARE IL COMPRESSORE ESCLUSIVAMENTE PER LE
APPLICAZIONI SPECIFICATE NEL SEGUENTE MANUALE
D’ISTRUZIONI.

Il compr ess ore è un a mac chi na c he pr oduc e ar ia c ompr ess a. N on
utilizzare mai il compressore per utilizzazioni diverse da quelle
specificate nel libretto istruzioni.

17. USARE IL COMPRESSORE CORRETTAMENTE

Far funzionare il compressore conformemente alle istruzioni di
quest o manu ale. N on l asciar e util izz are il c ompr ess ore ai b amb ini,
alle persone che non hanno famigliarità con il suo funz ionamento.

18. VERIFICARE CHE OGNI VITE, BULLONE E COPERCHIO
SIANO SOLIDAMENTE FISSATI.

Verificare che ogni vite, bullone e targhetta siano solidamente
fissati. Verificare periodicamente che siano ben stretti.

19. TENERE PULITA LA GRIGLIA DI ASPIRAZIONE

Tenere la griglia di ventilazione del motore pulita. Pulire
regolarmente questa griglia se l’ambiente di lavoro è molto sporco.

20. FARE FUNZIONARE IL COMPRESSORE ALLA TENSIONE
NOMINALE

Fare funzionare il compressore alla tensione specificata sulla
targhetta dei dati elettrici. Se il compressore è utilizzato a una
tensione superiore di quella nominale, il motore girerà più
velocem ente e si può dann eg giare l’unità brucian d o il m ot or e.

21. NON USARE MAI IL COMPRESS ORE SE E’ DIFETT OSO

Se il compressore lavora emettendo strani rumori o eccessive
vibrazioni o appare difettoso, fermatelo immediatamente e
verificate la funzionalità o contattate il più vicino centro assistenza
autorizzato.

22. NON PULIRE PARTI DI PLASTICA CON SOLVENTI

Solventi come benzina, diluenti, gasolio o altre sostanze che
contengono alcool possono danneggiare le parti di plastica, non
strofinare questi componenti sulle parti in plastica. Pulire
eventualmente queste parti con un panno morbido e acqua
saponata o liquidi appropriati.

23. USARE SOLO PARTI DI RICAMBIO ORIGINALI.

L’utilizzazione di parti di ricambio non originali provocano
l’annullamento della garanzia e un malfunzionamento del

24. NON MODIFICARE IL COMPRESSORE

Non modificare il c ompressore. Consultare un centro assistenza
autoriz zato per tutte l e riparazion i. Una modific a non autori zzata
può diminuire le prestazioni del compressore, ma può anche
essere l a c aus a di gravi i ncid enti p er l e pers on e che n on h anno l a
conoscenza tecnica necessaria per effettuare delle modifiche.

25. SPEGNERE IL PRESSOSTATO QUANDO IL COMPRESSORE
NON E ’ UTILIZZ ATO

Quando i l c ompr ess ore n on è in us o, pos izi on are l a man op ola del
press ost at o in posizi on e “0” (OFF), s c oll egare il compressore dalla
corrent e e apri re il r ubin etto di li n ea per s caricare l’ar ia c ompres s a
dal serbatoio.

26. NON TOCCARE LE PART I CALDE DEL COMPR ESS ORE

Per evitar e bruciat ure, non t occare i tu bi, il motor e e tutte le altr e
parti calde.

27. NON DIRIGERE IL GETTO D’ARIA DIRETTAMENTE SUL
CORPO

Per evitare rischi, non dirigere mai il getto d’aria su persone o
animali.

28. SCARICO CONDENSA DAL SERBATOIO

Scaric are il serbatoi o giornal mente oppure ogni 4 ore di servizi o.
Aprire il dispositivo di scarico ed inclinare il compressore se
necess ar i o per ri m u overe l’acqu a accumulata.

29. NON ARRESTARE IL COMPRESSORE TIRANDO IL CAVO DI
ALIMENTAZIONE

Utilizzare l’interruttore “O/I” (ON/OFF) del pressostato per
arrestare il compressore.

30. CIRCUITO PNEUMATICO

Utilizzare tubi, utensili pneumatici raccomandati che sopportano
una pressione superiore o uguale alla massima pressione di
esercizio del compressore.

PEZZI DI RICAMBIO

Per le riparazioni, utilizzare unicamente pezzi di ricambio originali
identici ai pezzi sostituiti. Le riparazioni devono essere effettuate
unicamente da un centro assistenza autorizzato.

AVVERTENZE

ISTRUZIONI PER IL COLLEGAMENTO A TERRA

Questo c ompress ore deve es sere coll egato a te rra, mentr e è in us o
per proteggere l’operatore da scosse elettriche. Il compressore
monofase è equipaggiato con un cavo bipolare più terra. Il
compressore trifase è fornito con cavo elettrico senza spina. È

qualificato. Si raccomanda di non smontare mai il compressore e
nemmeno di eseguire altri collegamenti nel pressostato. Qualsiasi
riparazione deve essere eseguita solamente dai centri assistenza
autoriz zati o altri c entri qualif icati. Non d imenticare mai che il f ilo di
messa a terr a è quell o verde o giallo/ver de. Mai collegar e questo filo
verde a un terminale vivo. Prima di sostituire la spina del cavo di
aliment azione, assic urarsi di coll egare il filo di terr a. In caso di dubbi
chiamare un elettric is t a qu alificato e f are c ont r ollare la messa a terra.

PROLUNGA

Utilizz are solament e prolung a con spina e collegamen to a terra, n on
utilizzare prolunghe danneggiate o schiacciate. Assicurarsi che la
prolunga sia in buone condizioni. Quando si usa un cavo di prolunga
assicurarsi che la sezione del cavo sia sufficiente per portare la
corrent e assor bita dal prodot to che c ollegh eret e. Una pr olunga tr opp o
sottile può causare cadute di tensione e quindi una perdita di potenza
e un eccessi vo risc aldam ento dell ’appar ecch io. Il cavo di prolun ga dei

UTILIZZO E MANTENIMENTO

NOTA: Le informazioni che troverete dentro questo manuale sono

state scritte per assistere l’operatore durant e l’utilizzo e le
operazioni di mantenimento del compressore. Alcune
illustr azioni di questo manual e mostr ano alcu ni dettag li ch e
possono essere differenti da qu elli del vostro compres sore.

INSTALLAZIONE

Dopo aver tolto il compressore dall’imballo ed averne accertato la
perfetta i ntegrit à, assicur andosi c he non abbi a subito d anni durant e il
trasporto, eseguire le seguenti operazioni. Montare le ruote e il
gommin o sui s erbatoi dove non sono mont ati seguend o le is truzioni
riportat e in fig. 1 . Nel c aso di ruot e gonfi abili, gonf iare le ru ote fin o a
una pres si one m ass ima di 1, 6 bar . P osiz ion are i l c ompr ess ore s u u na
superficie piana o al massimo con una inclinazione di 10°, in luogo ben
ventil ato, al rip aro da ag ent i atmosf eric i e non in ambi ent i espl osi vi. Se
il piano è inclinato e liscio, verificare che con il compressore in
funzionamento non si sposti, altrimenti bloccare le ruote con due
cunei. Se il pian o è una mensol a o il piano di uno sc affale, assic urar si
che non possa cadere fissandolo nella maniera opportuna. Per
ottenere una buona ventilazione e un efficace raffreddamento è
import ante che il p ar aci nghia del compressore sia d is t ante almen o 1 00
cm da qualsiasi parete (fig. 2).

IST R UZIO NI D’US O

- Fare att enzion e a trasp ortare il com press ore nell a giusta m anier a,
non capovolgerlo o sollevarlo con ganci o funi.

- Sostituire il tappo di plastica sul coperchio carter (fig.3-4) con l’asta
di livello olio (fig.5) o con relativo tappo di sfiato (fig.6) forniti
unitamente al libretto istruzioni, controllare il livello olio facendo
riferimento alle tacche poste sull’asta (fig.5) o alla spia livello olio
(fig.7).

COLLEGAMENTO ELETTRICO

I compressori monofase sono forniti completi di cavo elettrico e
spina di corrente bipolare + terra. È importante collegare il
compr essore ad una pr es a di c orr en te dotata di c ollegament o a ter r a.
I compres sori tr ifase ( L1+L2+L3+PE) devono essere installati da un
tecnico specializzato. I compressori trifase sono forniti senza spina.
Collegare al cavo di al i m ent azione un a spi n a elettrica c on passacavo a
vite e collare di blocco facendo riferimento alla tabella sotto riportata.

ATTENZIONE:

60204).La spina del cavo di alimentazione non deve essere usata
come interruttore, ma deve essere inserita in una presa di corrente
comandata da un interruttore differenziale adeguato (magneto
termico).

AVVIAMENTO

Control lare che l a tension e di rete c orrispon da a quell a indic ata nella
targhetta dati elettrici, il campo di tolleranza ammesso deve essere
contenuto entro ± 5%. Al primo avviamento nei compressori che
funzion ano con tens ione trifas e verif icare l’es atto senso di r otazione
della ventola di raffreddamento, mediante la freccia posta sul
paracinghia o sulla carenatura.
Premere il pomello posto nella parte superiore del presso stato in
posizione “0”. Inserire la spina nella presa di corrente e avviare il
compressore portando il pomello del pressostato in posizione “I”.
Il funzionamento del compressore è completamente automatico,
comandato dal pressostato che lo arresta quando la pressione nel
serbatoio raggiunge il valore massimo e lo fa ripartire quando scende
al valor e min imo. Solitamente l a differen z a di pr ess i one è di circ a 2 bar
(29 psi) t r a i l val ore mass i m o e i l valore minimo. Dopo av er colleg at o il
compr essore alla li n ea el ettrica far e un a c arica alla mas s i m a press i one
e verific ar e l’ es atto funzi on am ento della mac c hi n a.

NOTA: Il gruppo testa/cilindro/tubo di mandata, può raggiungere

temperature elevate, fare attenzione se si lavora in
prossimità di questi particolari, e non toccarli per evitare
bruciat ure (fig. 8-9).

ATTENZIONE

Gli elettrocompressori devono essere collegati ad una presa di
corrente protetta da interruttore differenziale adeguato (magneto
termico). Il motore dei compressori è dotato di una protezione termica
automat ica posta all’i nterno dell’avvol gi m ent o, l a qual e arresta il
compressore quando la temperatura del motore raggiunge valori
troppo elevati. Qual ora dovess e intervenir e, il compress ore ripartirà
automaticamente dopo 10 - 15 minuti.
I compressori alimentati V120/60/1 e V400/50/3 sono dotati di una
termica amperometrica a riarmo manuale. Quando si verifica
l’intervento della termica attendere alcuni minuti, poi ripristinare
manualm ente l’inter u tt ore termico.

REGOLAZ IONE DELL A PRESSIO NE DI LAV OR O (fig. 10)

Non è nec essario utiliz zare sempr e la mass ima pression e di lavoro,
anzi il più delle volte l’utensile pneumatico utilizzato ha bisogno di
meno pressione. Nei compressori forniti di riduttore di pressione è
necessario regolare bene la pressione di lavoro. Regolare la pressione
al valore desiderato ruotando il pomello in senso orario per
aumentarla, antiorario per diminuirla. La pressione di taratura è
visualizzabile sul manometro.

MANUTENZIONE

Prima di effettuare qualsiasi intervento sul compressore accertarsi che:

- L’interruttore generale di linea sia nella posizione “0”.

- Il serbatoio d’aria sia scarico da ogni pressione.
Ogni 50 ore di funzionamento è opportuno smontare il filtro di
aspiraz ione e pulire l’element o filtran te soff iando con ari a compres sa
(fig.11) . È consigl iabile s ostituir e l’element o filtrant e almen o una volt a
all’anno se il compressore lavora in ambiente pulito; più
frequent emente se l’am biente nel q uale è posizion ato il compress ore
risulta polveroso. Il compressore genera acqua di condensa che si
accumula nel serbatoio. È necessario scaricare la condensa dal
serbatoio almeno una volta alla settimana aprendo il rubinetto di
scarico ( fig.12) s otto il serb atoio. Far e attenzi one se c’è pr esenza di
aria compressa all’interno della bombola, l’acqua potrebbe uscire con
molta spinta. Pressione consigliata 1- 2 bar max. La condensa del
compressore lubrificato con olio non deve ess ere gettata in fogna o
dispersa nell’ambiente poiché contiene olio.

CAMBIO OLIO - RABBOCCO OLIO

Il compress ore è f ornito c on oli o sintetic o “SAE 5W 50”. Entro le pri me
100 ore di lavoro è consigliabile sostituire completamente l’olio del
pompante. Svitare il tappo di scarico olio sul coperchio carter, fare
uscir e tutto l’oli o, r i a vvi tare il t ap p o (fig. 13- 14) . I ntrodurr e l’ oli o dal foro
superi ore del c operchio c arter ( fig. 15- 16) fin o a rag giungere il livel lo
indicat o s ull’ asta (f ig .5) o sul l a spi a (fi g. 7). O gni s ett im ana c ontr oll ar e

il livello dell’olio del pompante e se necessario rabboccarlo. Per un
funzion amento con t emperatur a ambiente d a -5°C a +35° C utilizzar e
olio sintetico “SAE 5W50”. L’olio sintetico offre il vantaggio di non
perdere le pr oprie c aratt erist iche s ia n el per iodo i nvernal e ch e est ivo.
L’olio usato non deve essere gettato in fogna o disperso nell’ambiente.

AVVERTENZE

Perdite d’aria dalla valvola sotto il pressostato

Questo inc onveniente dipend e da una imperfetta tenut a della valvo la
di ritegno, intervenire nel seguente modo (fig.17).

- Svuotare completamente il serbatoio dalla pressione;

- Svitare la testa esagonale della valvola (A);

- Pulire accuratamente sia il dischetto di gomma (B) sia la sua sede;

- Rimontare il tutto accuratamente.

Perdite d’ ar i a

Possono dipendere dalla cattiva tenuta di qualche raccordo,
controllare tutti i raccordi bagnandoli con acqua saponata.

Il compressore gira però non carica

Può esser e dovuto alla rottur a delle valvole (C1 – C2) opp ure di una
guarnizione (B1 – B2) intervenire sostituendo il particolare
danneggiato.

VCX50 - VCX 100/3 MC – VCX150 - MB100: (fig. 19)
Può essere dovuto alla rottur a delle valvole F1 e F2 oppure di una
guarnizione (D1 – D2), intervenire sostituendo il particolare
danneggiato.

Il compressore non parte

Se il compressore ha difficoltà a partire, controllare:

- Che la tensione di rete corrisponda a quella nella targhetta dati.

- Che non vengano utilizzate prolunghe elettriche di sezione o
lunghezza non adeguata.

- Che l’ambiente di lavoro non sia troppo freddo. (al di sotto dei 0°C)

- Che non sia int ervenuto il protettor e t er mico

- Che ci sia olio nel carter per garantire lubrificazione. (fig.7)

- Che la rete elettrica sia alimentata (presa ben collegata,
megnetotermico, fusibili integri)

Il compressore non si arresta

- Se il compr ess ore non s i ar rest a al r agg iung imen to d ell a mass ima

È neces sario c ontatt are i l più vici no c entro ass isten za aut orizz ato
per la riparazione.

ATTENZIONE

- Evitare assolutamente di svitare qualsiasi connessione con il
serbatoio in pressione, accertarsi sempre che il serbatoio sia
scarico.

- È vietato effettuare fori, saldature o deformare volutamente il
serbatoio dell’aria compressa.

- Non eseguire operazioni sul compressore senza prima avere
disins eri t o la spi na dalla pres a di c orr en te.

- Temper at ur a am bi ente consi gl i ata di f u nz i on am ento 0°C +35°C .

- Non indirizzare getti d’acqua o liquidi infiammabili sul
compressore.

- Non posiz i on ar e og g ett i inf i am m abili vicin o al c om pressore.

- Durante soste di utilizzo portare il pressostato in posizione “0”
(OFF) (spento).

- Non indir iz z ar e mai il get t o d’ ar i a verso pers one o ani m al i.

- Non trasportare il compressore con il serbatoio in pressione.

- Fare attenzione che alcune parti del compressore come testa e
tubi di mandata possono raggiungere temperature elevate. Non
toccare questi componenti per evitare bruciature. (fig. 8-9)

- Trasportare il compress ore sollevan d ol o o t ir andolo per l e apposite
impugnature o manic i.

- Bambini e animali devono essere tenuti lontani dall’area di
funzionamento della macchina.

IT

- Se usate il compressore per verniciare:
a) N on op er ate in ambient i ch ius i o in prossim it à di fiamme lib ere
b) Assicuratevi che l’ambiente dove operate abbia un adeguato

ricambi o d’ aria

c ) Pr oteg g ete il naso e la bocca con un’app os it a m asc h er i n a.

- Se il cavo elettrico o la spina sono danneggiati non usare il
compressore e rivolgersi al centro assistenza autorizzato per la
sua sostituzione con un componente originale.

- Se vien e posto su uno sc affal e o un piano più alto d el paviment o
de ve es s er e fis s at o p er ev it ar e un a p oss i bi l e cad ut a du r an te i l su o
funzionamento.

- Non inserire ogg etti e mani all’i nt erno dell e grigl ie di prot ezion e per
evitare d ann i f is ic i e al c om pressore.

- Evitare d i usare il c ompressore c ome oggett o contundent e verso
person e c os e o anim al i p er e vit are gravi dann i.

- Terminato l’utilizzo del compressore disins erire sempre la spina
dalla presa di corrente.

16 HANDLE COMPRESSOR CORRECTLY

Operate the compressor according to the instructions provided
herein. N ever allow the compress or to be operated by childr en,

SAFETY

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS

This compressor should be grounded while in use to protect the
operator from electric shocks. The compressor is equipped with a
three-conductor cord and three-prong grounding type plug to fit the
proper grounding plug socket. The green (or green and yellow)
conduct or in the cord is the grou nding wir e. Never c onnect the gr een
(or green an d y ell ow) w ir e to a liv e t erm in al.

EXTENSION CORD

Only us e extension c ords with t hree cond uctor cord t hat have thr ee­prong grounding type plugs and three-pole that accept the
compressor’s plug. Replace or repair damaged cords socket. Make
sure your extension cord is in good condition. When using an
extens ion c ord, be sur e to use on e heavy enou gh to carr y the cu rrent
your prod uct will draw. A n undersized c ord will caus e a drop in l ine
voltag e resulting in loss of power and overhe ating.T able 1 shows the
correct si ze to use depend ing on cord len gth and name pl ate ampere
rating. If in doubt, use the next heavier gauge. The smaller the gauge
number, the heavier the cord.

OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
NOTE: The information contained in this Instruction Manual is

designed to assist you in the safe operation and
maintenance of the compressor. Some illustrations in this
Instruction Manual may show details or attachments that
differ fr om th ose on your own c ompr es sor.

INSTALLATION

Remove the compressor from its packing, makes sure it is in perfect
conditi on, checking if it was damaged d uring transp ort, and carry out
the followin g operations . Fit the wheels on th e tanks on which are not
already f itted, obs erving th e instructi ons in fig.1 . In case of inflatabl e
wheels, the maximum inflation pressure must be 1,6 bar (24 psi).
Position the compressor on a flat surface or with a maximum
permissi ble inclinati on of 10°, in a well air ed place protect ed against
atmosph eric agents and not in a plac e subject t o explosi on hazard. If
the surface is inclined and smoot h, check the compressor does not

move while in operation - if it does, secure the wheels with two
wedges. If the s urf ac e is a br ack et or a sh elf t op, mak e s ure it c annot
fall, securing it in a suitable way. To ensure good ventilation and
effici ent cooli ng, th e compres sor’s b elt guar d must b e at least 10 0 cm
from any w all (f ig. 2) .

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

- R eplace th e plast ic p lug on the gu ard cov er (fig .3 - 4) with t he oi l
level st ick (f ig. 5) or wit h th e rel evan t breat h er plug ( fi g.6) , sup pli ed
with the instructions booklet. Check oil level, consulting the
reference marks on the stick (fig.5) or the oil level inspection
win d o w ( fig. 7) .

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

Single-p hase compr essors ar e supplied with an el ectric al cable and

a two-pole + earth plug. The compressor must be connected to a
ground ed p ow er s oc k et
Three-p hase compr es sors (L1+L2+L3+PE) must be installed by a
specialised technician. Three-phase compressors are supplied without
a plug. Connect a plug, with screw-on grommet and securing collar, to
the cable, consulting the table below.

CAUTION:

Never us e the groun d socket instead of the neutral wir e. The ground
connecti on must be made to meet s afety standar ds (EN 60204). Th e
plug of the power cable must not be used as a switch, but must be
fitted in a power socket controlled by a suitable differential switch
(thermal breaker) .

STARTING

Check that th e mains power matc hes that indicated on the elec trical
data-plate, the permissible tolerance range is +/-5%.
When first starting com pressors op erating on 3-p hase voltag e, check
the rotation direction of the cooling fan by comparing it with the
directi on of t h e arrow on the belt gu ard or on the prot ec tive housi ng.
Press th e knob loc ated on t he upper s ection of the pres sure s witch t o
“0” positi on. F it th e plu g in th e power s oc ket an d st art th e c ompress or,
turning t he pressur e switch kn ob into “I” position. Th e compress or is
fully autom atic , and is c ontrol l ed b y th e press ur e s witch which s tops it
when tank pr essure reaches maximum value and restarts it when it
falls to minimum value. The pressure difference between maximum
and mini mum valu es is usuall y about 2 bar (29 ps i). After c onnecti ng
the com pressor to th e pow er line, load i t to maximu m pressure a nd
check exac t l y h ow th e mac hi ne is operating.

NOTE: The head/cylinder/delivery tube unit can reach high

temperatures. Take care when working near these parts, and
do not touch them to avoid possible burns (fig.8-9).

CAUTION:

The electro-compressors must be connected to a power socket
protected by a suitable differential switch (thermalbreaker). The
compressor motor is equipped with an automatic thermal breaker
located insi de th e wi ndin g - th is s tops t he c ompr ess or w hen th e m otor
reaches an excess ively hi gh temper ature. I f the breaker is tripp ed, the
compressor restarts automatically after 10 t o 15 mi nut es.
The compr ess ors V120/ 60/1 an d V400/ 50/3 ran ge ar e suppli ed with a
manually resettin g amperom etric ther m al- breaker. When the br eak er is
tripped, w ai t for a few minutes and then res et th e breaker man u ally.

ADJUSTING OPERATI NG PRESSUR E (fig.1 0)

You do not have to use th e maximum op erating pres sure at all tim es.
On the contrary, the pneumatic tool being used often requires less
pressur e. On compressors s up p l i ed wi th a pressur e reducer, op erating
pressur e must be c orrectly adjusted. Adjust pr essure to t he requir ed
value by turning the knob (clockwise to increase pressure and anti­clockwise to reduce it). Pressure can be seen on the gauge.

MAINTENANCE

Before attempting any maintenance jobs on the compressor, make
sure of the following:

- Master power switch is in “0” position.

- No pressure in the air tank.
Every 50 h ours of dut y, we advise you t o dismantle t he suction f ilter

and clean the filtering element by blowing compressed air on to it
(fig.11).You are recommended to replace the filter element at least
once if the compressor operates in a clean environment, but more
frequently if in a dusty environment. The compressor generates
condens ation whic h accu mulates i n the t ank.The c ondensati on in t he
tank must be drained at l east once a we ek by opening t he drain tap
(fig.12) under t he t ank.T ake care if ther e is c ompres sed air insid e the
cylinder as water could flow out with considerable force.
Recommended pressure: 1 - 2 bar max. Condensation from of
compr essors that ar e oil lubric ated must not be drained int o the sewer
or dispersed into the en vironmen t as it m ay contain oi l.

OIL CHANGES - TOPPING UP WITH OIL

The compressor is filled wit h synthetic oil “ SAE 5W50”.W e rec omm end
a full c h an g e of oil i n the pu mpi n g element wi th in t h e f ir s t 10 0 hours of
duty. Unsc rew th e oil drai n plug on th e housin g cover , allow all the oil
to flow ou t and r e-scr ew the plug (fig. 13- 14).Pour oil int o the upp er
hole of th e h ous in g cover (f ig. 1 5-16) until it r eac hes the l evel in dicated
on the s tick (fig .5) or in dicator (f ig.7) Onc e a week : check oil level of
the pu mping elemen t and s ee if it n eeds t opping up. F or op erati on at
ambient temperature in the range -5°C to +35°C, use “SAE 5W 50”
synthetic oil. The advantage of this oil is that is does not lose its
charact eristics either in winter or sum mer. Do not drain us ed oil into
the sewer or dispose of it in the environment.

FAULT FINDING

Loss of air in valve under pressure switch

This can be caused by under tightening of the valve - take the
following action (fig.17):

- Discharge all pressure from the tank.

- Unscr ew th e hex agon-head of th e val ve ( A) .

- Carefully clean both the rubber disk (B) and its seat.

- Refit all parts accurately.

Air losses

This can be caused by under tighteni ng of a union:

- check al l uni ons , w ett i ng them with soap y water.

Compressor turns but doe s not load

Compressor not starting

If the compressor has trouble starting, check the following:

- D oes mains power match that of the data-plate?

- Are power c abl e extensi ons of adequate di am eter or lengt h?

- Is the work environment too cold (under 0°C)?

- Was the thermal-breaker tripped?

- Is there enou gh oil in the hous in g t o ens ure lubricat i on ? (f i g. 7)

- I s power su pplied to the electr ical line? (sock ets well c onnected ,
thermal-breaker, fuses in good condition).

Compressor not stopping

- If the compressor does not stop when maximum pressure is
reached, the tank safety valve comes into operation. To repair the
valve, contact your nearest service centre.

CAUTION:

- Do not on any account u nscrew any conn ection w hile the t ank is
pressurised.

- Always check that the tank is pressure free.

- D o not drill holes, weld or purposel y deform the compr essed air
tank.

- D o not perform any maintenanc e on the com pressor unles s you
have disconnected the power plug.

- Ambient operating temperature range: 0°C +35°C.

- Do not aim j ets of w ater or flammabl e li qu ids on the compr essor.

- Do not place flammable objects near the compressor.

- During down-times, turn the pressure switch to “0” position (OFF).

- Never ai m th e air jet at people or anim als .

- Do not transport the compressor while the tank is pressurised.

- T ake care, as s ome parts of the c ompressor, s uch as the h ead
and deli very tubes, as t hey can reach high temper atures. Do not
touch these parts to avoid burns (fig. 8-9).

- To transport the comp r essor, lif t or pull it w ith the app r opriat e grips
or handles.

- Keep ch ildren and an imals wel l away from th e machine op erating
area.

- If using the compressor for painting:

a) Do not work in closed environments or near to naked flames.
b) M ak e sure there is adeq uate ventil ation at the place of work.
c ) Pr otec t your nose and m out h w ith an appropr i at e m as k.

- If the electrical cable or plug are damaged, do not use the
compressor and contact an authorised service centre to replace
the faulty component with an original spare part.

- If the com press or is locat ed on a s helf above f loor height, it m ust
be secured to prevent it falling while in operation.

- Do not put objects or your hands inside the protective grilles to
avoid inj ury to your self or dam age t o the compr essor. (Do not us e
the compressor as a blunt object toward objects or animals, to
avoid serious damage).

- When y ou h av e finish ed using t h e c om pressor, always remove the
plug from the power socket.

The level of acoustic pressure can increase from 1 to 10 dB(A)
according to the place in which the compressor is installed.

WARNING:

- F or effici ent operation of the machine at full conti nuing load and at
maximum op erating pressur e, make sure the temperature of the
work environment in d oor s does n ot exceed 25°C.

- W e advise you to us e the compr essor at 70 % maximu m duty per
hour at full load as this ensures eff icient operat ion of the product
long-term.

STORING THE PACKED AND UNPACKED COMPRESSOR

For the wh ole time that t he compres sor is not us ed before un packing
for the f irst time, s tore in a d ry place at a temper ature between 5°C
and 45°C and sh elter ed p ositi on to pr otec t it f rom th e weat her . For t he
whole time that the compressor is not used after unpacking, while
waiting to st art it up or du e to prod ucti on stop pag es, pl ace sh eets ov er

Ne jamais diriger le jet d’air comprimé sur une personne ou une

4. SE PROTÉGER CONTRE LES DÉCHARGES ÉLECTRIQUES

Empêcher t out contact d u corps avec les surf ac es m ises à la terre,

par exemple les tuyaux, radiateurs, plaques de cuisson et
enceintes de réfrigération. Ne jamais faire fonctionner le
compr esseur dans un endroit humi de ou sur une surface mouil l ée.

5. DÉBRANCHER LE COMPRESSEUR

Toujours d ébranch er le com presseur de sa s ource d’ alimentat ion

et évacu er l’air c omprimé de son réser voir avant tout e opération
de réparation, d’inspection, d’entretien, de nettoyage, de
remplacement ou de vérification des pièces.

6. ÉVITER TOUTE MISE EN MARCHE ACCIDENTELLE

Ne pas transp orter l e compres seur alors qu’ il est enc ore racc ordé

à sa sourc e d’alim entation ou q ue le réser voir d’air comprim é est
plein. Bien s’assurer que le sélecteur de l’interrupteur
barométrique se trouve sur la position “OFF” (arrêt) avant de
raccorder le compresseur à son alimentation.

7. ENTREPOSER CORRECTEMENT LE COMPRESSEUR

Veiller à ce qu’il soit hors de portée des enfants. Fermer à clé

lelo cal d’enterposage.

de travail soit bien éclairée et bien aérée. Ne pas utiliser le

compresseur projette des étincelles pendant qu’il fonctionne.

10. ÉL OIG NER LES ENFANTS
Ne pas laisser les visiteurs toucher aur cordon de rallonge du

compresseur. Tous les visiteurs devront se tenir suffisamment
éloign és d e l’ air e de tr av ai l.

11. SE VÊTIR CORRECTEMENT
Ne porter ni vêtements lâches ni bi joux. Ils p ourraient se prendr e

dans les pièces mobiles . Porter un c oiffe recou vrant l es chev eux
longs.

12. FA I R E ATTE NTIO N A U COR D ON
Ne jamais tirer brusquement sur le cordon pour le débrancher.

Tenir le cordon loin des sources de chaleur, de graisse et des
surfaces tranchantes.

13. ENTRET ENIR LE COMPRESSEUR AVEC SOI N
Suivre les instruc tions de lubr ificati on. Inspect er régulièr ement les

cordons et, s ’ il sont en d om m ag és , l es f aire répar er dans u n centre
de service après-vente agrée. Inspecter périodiquement les
cordons de rallonge et les faire réparer s’ils sont endommagés.

20. MAINTENIR L’ÉVENT D’AÉRATION DU MOTEUR PR OPRE

L’évent d’aér ation du mot eur doit res ter propr e en perman ence de

façon à ce que l’air puisse circuler librement. Contrôler
fréquem m ent l’accu mu l ation de pouss i ère.

21. FAIRE FONCTIONNER LE COMPRESSEUR À LA TENSION
NOMINALE

Faire fonctionner le compresseur à la tension spécifiée sur la
plaque signalétique. Si le compresseur est utilisé à une t ension
supérieure à la tension nominale, il en résultera une vitesse de
rotation du m oteur anormalem ent élevée risqu ant d’endommag er
le compr esseur et de grill er le moteur.

22. NE JAM AIS UT ILI SEER UN COM PRES SE UR DÉFECTUEUX OU
DONT LE FONCTIONNEMENT EST ANORMAL

Si le compresseur semble ne pas fonctionner, s’il émet un bruit

bizarre ou qu’il s emble défectu eux, l’arrêter imm édiatement et le
faire réparer dans un centre de service après-vente agrée.
