Asked Questions
Does my doorbell ringer require special care?
We coat each doorbell ringer with a clear, catalyzed polyurethane. This protective nish is similar to the clear top coat on an automobile. Washing of your doorbell ringer with a mild soap and water will help to maintain its vibrant shine. Occasionally coating the doorbell ringer with car wax will greatly extend the life of the original nish. Do not use a brass cleaner or an abrasive pad as these will damage the clear coating and the original polished nish.
I live near the beach. Will one nish last longer than the others?
All Michael Healy Doorbell Ringers receive the same protective coating. If properly cared for, there will be little dierence in the durability of the various nishes.
What can I do if my doorbell ringer tarnishes?
Even though Michael Healy Doorbell Ringers are coated with a clear catalyzed, polyurethane nish, copper alloys will patina with time. Age and the environment may change the appearance of your doorbell ringer. While some prefer this natural aging process, our renishing
program gives you the option of restoring your
doorbell ringer to look like new. Simply ask about our renishing program.
