Power Connection
Connect to a suitable 220-240V ~50Hz power supply only. This appliance is designed to operate safely across both New
Zealand and Australian power supplies. This appliance must be earthed.
First Time Use
Open the unit by unhooking the Safety Locking Latch and lifting the handle. The Lid will stop in a vertical position. Clean
the Sandwich Plates thoroughly by wiping with a sponge or cloth dampened with hot, soapy water to remove any dust built
up in transit, and then dry the surfaces with a dry cloth or paper towel.
INSERTING COOKING PLATES
1) Plug in, before using your appliance. When not in use unplug from outlet.
2) Make sure your 2 in 1 sandwich maker is unplugged when inserting or removing desired cooking plates.
3) To remove plates currently in your unit, just press the cooking plate release button and remove current cooking plate.
4) To insert desired cooking plates, insert tabs on cooking plate into slots on unit near the hinge area.
5) Push down and snap the other side of the cooking plate into place.
Repeat the same for second cooking plate.
Use
Use a paper towel to wipe a thin layer of vegetable oil or similar onto the inner non-stick surfaces of the plates in order to
season the non-stick surface.
Always preheat the Sandwich Maker with the Lid closed. The Red Power Heating Indicator will illuminate when the unit is
plugged into an electrical outlet. The Green Ready Light will also illuminate when unit is preheated and ready for cooking.
This takes about 3-4 minutes.
Prepare your sandwich while the appliance is heating by spreading butter (or similar) onto one side of bread.
Organise fillings so that they are ready for sandwich assembly.
Open the sandwich maker and place a piece of the buttered bread onto the lower heating plate with the buttered side onto the
heating plate.
Place the filling onto the piece of bread. Allow a small free area around the outside to allow for expansion. Note. Do not
attempt to make an overly large sandwich. Do not force the lid closed with excessive force.
Place the top piece of bread onto the sandwich with the buttered side up and close the lid, locking the latch. During the
cooking cycle the green ‘ready’ light will cycle on and off as the temperature fluctuates.
When cooking, make sure that the appliance remains closed.
The sandwich will be ready in 4-5 minutes (or longer, depending on personal preference). Unhook the Safety Locking Latch,
open the lid, and remove sandwich using a wooden kitchen utensil. Never use a metal utensil as this may damage the nonstick coating.
Close the lid to preserve the heat until ready to cook additional sandwiches. You can prepare additional sandwiches while the
first one is cooking.
After use, unplug the Power Cord from the electrical outlet. Do not leave the appliance on unattended.
