and all setup of device shall be changed to the first setup at the time of purchase.

Wireless Router Function
In order to use WX1 as a wireless router, please follow the below steps.
Step 1: Please connect the Ethernet cable (LAN cable) to the Ethernet port of WX1.
Step 2: Please set the power switch of WX1 to ‘ON’.
Step 3: Please click the wireless network connection icon at the bottom right of Window.
Please connect by selecting MGTEC WX1 on
Wireless network.
Please make sure that MGTEC WX1 has been
connected.
Step 4: The setting to use internet has been completed.
Now you can enjoy the internet freely on your PC, laptop, Smartphone, etc.

Wireless Storage Device Function [Use at PC or Laptop]
At the present era of which the dynamic exchange of information is considered very important,
WX1 is the easiest and cleverest method of sharing the data. Through WX1, it is not only easy to
use the contents of external devices such as the external hardware and USB memory on tablet PC,
Smartphone and PC but also convenient to store and play files.
Connect with External Storage Device (Necessary setup process for use)
Step 1: Please connect the external storage device to USB port of WX1.
Step 2: Please set the power switch of WX1 to ‘ON’.
Step 3: Please select WX1 at the wireless network connection and connect WIFI between PC and
WX1. (Refer to step 3 on page 6)
Step 4: The setup to use the external storage device has been completed.
Connection through Web Browser (Explorer, Chrome, etc)
When you enter http://192.168.100.1/usb.asp in the address bar of the web browser (Explorer,
Chrome, Safari), you can see the data of external storage device.

Step 3: You can see a successful connection status to the external storage device.
SDA folder shall be formed as much as the number of partitions of the divided storage device.
(Ref. SDA folder is formed for the system stability. Therefore, it is formed as the above when you
connect the external hardware which is divided into three partitions.)
Convenient Connection through Window Network (Only for window users)
Step 1: After clicking the start button at the bottom left of window,

Step 1: Please turn on the window search engine.
After you move the cursor to the computer icon
and right click, select the Network Drive

Step 2: Please enter ￦￦192.168.100.1￦public at the Input Folder box.
Tip: Please select Reconnect if you want to have an automatic connection when log in.

Connect to “Connect to Server” (Only for Mac OS users)
Step 1: Please use the button at the top right and connect WIFI of “MGTEC WX1”.
Step 2: Please select Transfer-Connect to Server at the top menu bar.

Step 3: Please enter smb://192.168.100.1 at the server window.
([TIP] If you add this to the frequently used server, you can connect conveniently at later
connection.)

Connection Using FTP (Free FTP Program: Use FileZilla)
[Caution] FileZilla has all the rights of FileZilla. MGTEC only introduced for the purpose of
convenient use for users, and there is no relation with the FileZilla program.
[TIP] (You may download FileZilla through the website, http://filezilla-project.org)
Step 1: Connect at the setup page (http://192.168.100.1).

Step 2: Please change the setup of FTP server to activation.
[Caution] When FTP server is activated, the server connection through the browser may not be
smooth. When you use it as a browser, please change FTP server to deactivation.
Step 3: Open FileZilla.
Step 4: Please select a File-Site Manager as below.

Step 5: Please enter the site connection information as below and click “Connect”.
(Host; 192.168.100.1, User; admin, Password; admin)
[Reference] If there is a breakdown of file or letters of
the folder, please select Force Setup to UTF-8 at the
Site Manager-Letter Setup.

Connection through Android Web Browser
Step 1: System Preferences– Wi-Fi Setup of Wireless and Network
At System Preferences –Wi-Fi Setup of Wireless and Network, turn on
Wi-Fi and select MGTEC WX1 on Wi-Fi Network.

Connection through Free App (Free App, ES File Search Engine)
[Caution] ES APP GROUP has all the rights of the file search engine. MGTEC only introduced it for
the purpose of convenient use by users, and there is no relation with ES File Search Engine.
[TIP] It is easy to install if you search “ES File Search Engine” at the Google play-store.
Step 2: Open ES File Search Engine.
Step 3: After clicking the button on the top left, select Network-LAN.

Step 3: Select the Scan Button at the bottom and scan.
When you select the Scan Button at the bottom and scan, the icon of
192.168.100.1 as below shall be formed. Please select this button.
Step 4: After you enter ID & Password and connect, then click PUBLIC Folder.

If you select PUBLIC, you can use the contents of the external storage device.

Step 1: Please select “MGTECWX1” for Wi-Fi on setup like the following.
Step 2: Search “MGTEC” at App Store and install “[MGTEC] File Share”.

Step 1: Open FTPManager Free.
Step 2: Please select the add icon (+ shape) at the top right.
Step 3: Please enter the information as in the following picture and select the SAVE icon.

Step 4: Select the saved name at the previous step on the list of FTP SERVERS.
Step 5: You can now use the contents of the external storage device as below.
Recharge Function (Power Bank Function)
As WX1 has a lithium ion battery of large capacity, it can recharge iPhone, iPad, Smartphone,
Tablet PC, etc.
1) How to Use
After connecting a device that you want to charge with WX1 through USB port, adjust the
power switch to ‘C’. Then the device shall start recharging.
2) Precaution when Recharging
① When the device is recharged completely, please separate the connection from the
device. In order to prevent the electric discharge, please set the power switch of WX1 to
‘OFF’.
② Although the recharge can be done when connecting the device that you want to
charge with WX1 after setting the power switch of WX1 to ‘ON’, it may affect the battery
life. So please set the power switch to ‘C’ for the recharge.
③ As the output power of WX1 is 5V, 1~2A, please use the proper device.

Step 1: Connect to MGTEC WX1 at the Wi-Fi Setup of device used.
Step 2: Enter http://192.168.100.1 in the address bar of the web browser.
Step 3: When the window security appears, enter the user name and the password.

Step 4: You can check that you have successfully connected to the setup page.

Internet Connection Setup
Set to Dynamic IP Address
[TIP: When you use the internet by connecting the Ethernet cable (LAN cable), it is recommended
to set up to Dynamic IP Address]
(1) Select Cable Setup-WAN Setup on the left Menu.
(2) Select Dynamic IP Address among the WAN setup options on the right screen, and if
necessary, click the save button at the bottom after entering the parameter values at the
bottom.

Setup to WIFI REPEATER
When WIFI signal is weak, WIFI Repeater can widen the wireless transfer space effectively.
(1) Select Cable Setup-WAN Setup on the left Menu.
(2) Please select the “Scan WiFi Hotspot’ button after selecting Wi-Fi REPEATER among WAN
setup options on the right screen.
(3) The connectable Wi-Fi Hotspot list window shall appear as below.
Among those, please click the save button after selecting Hotspot that you want to
connect to.

(4) After checking the information (Approval method, Encoding method, Password, etc.)
about the Hotspot (Wireless Router) currently selected, click the save button after
entering the password at the Hotspot key part if the password is needed to use the
Hotspot.
[Caution] When you setup to WIFI REPEATER, it works properly when wireless router and encoding,
channel, approval mode, etc. that works as Hotspot are the same.
[Caution] WIFI REPEATER may not work properly if the Wi-Fi signal is very weak.

Wireless Encoding Setup
(1) Select Wireless setup – Wireless Encoding on the left Menu.
(2) After selecting the desired Encoding Method, click SAVE to complete the password setup.
[Reference] For the safe wireless network, we recommend WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK encoding,
and we would like to introduce WPA2-PSK encoding setup method.
(1) Select Wireless Setup-Wireless Encoding on the left Menu.
(2) Select WPA2-PSK at the Security Mode.
(3) After selecting desired algorithm at WPA Encoding and Algorithm, (We recommend Auto)
enter the password key on PSK Key box. Only 8 to 64 characters in numbers or letters are
possible for the password key.
Click the SAVE button if you have completed.
(4) If you click the SAVE, the setup shall be completed and Wi-Fi shall be disconnected at the
same time. Please try connecting Wi-Fi again.

Change Password
(1) Select CHANGE PASSWORD at the System Tool Menu on the left.
(2) After entering the existing password and the password desired to change, click the SAVE
button. Then the password change shall be completed.
[Initial Password value: admin]
WX1 Recharging Method
(1) Recharge by connecting the adapter to the power port by using a power adapter (5V,
1~2A).
(2) Using USB cable, recharge by connecting PC with WX1.
In this case, as the output current from the computer is weak, it may take long time to
recharge.

Precautions for Use
01) Please do not apply a strong impact and pressure to the battery of the device such as
making a hole to the device with a nail, hammering the device, being bitten by a pet dog,
sitting with the device in a pocket, and stepping on the device.
02) Please do not burn or heat the device, and avoid the direct sunlight to prevent the rise of
the temperature of the product.
03) Please prevent the positive of battery from touching the negative through the metal
object like a wire after disassembling the product.
04) Please do not weld the battery directly by disassembling the device and avoid wetting by
submersing in the water (liquid) or seawater.
05) If there is damage on the safety and protection device in the battery by the modification
of device, the battery may heat up, explode, or catch the fire.
06) During the use of the device, if the battery smells strange, it heats up greatly, its color or
shape changes, or an abnormal condition is found, you should stop using the device
immediately.
07) If the battery liquid leaks and enters into the eyes, do not rub your eyes. Wash your eyes
with water thoroughly and go to the hospital immediately. If you leave your eyes
untreated, then your may have a damage on the eyes because of the battery liquid.
When the battery liquid touches the skin, you should also wash it with water thoroughly
and go to the hospital immediately.
08) Please use the recharger which fits to the device. If you use the recharger which is not
suitable for the device, it will reduce the life of the device and become the cause of
explosion or fire. So please use the proper recharger which fits to the voltage and current
of the device.
09) If the battery of device is stored with low battery, the battery may be damaged. If the
device is not in use, please recharge at least every 2 to 3 months.
10) Please store the product in a dry condition. Please avoid the wet and corrosive objects.
11) Please wipe the product with a dry cloth, and do not wipe the product with chemical
products, soap and detergent.
12) Please keep a distance from the device with high voltage.
13) This device is not a toy. Please use it where the children cannot reach.
14) Please do not change the battery of the device to the other battery arbitrarily.
15) Please do not connect the device to the recharger for a long time.
16) If the user disassembles and modifies in person, or change device plate and code, you
cannot receive A/S, and it shall be a cause of product damage.
17) Please do not put the device in a microwave and operate.
18) When you dispose the product including the battery, separate the battery and do not
disassemble the battery itself, but cover it with vinyl to prevent the external substances to
affect the battery and dispose.
[TIP] How to use the battery of the device for a long period
1. Please maintain the proper use temperature. (0~40
o
C)
If the temperature is too high, it may affect the battery life because the property of
anode or cathode material changes. If the temperature is too low, the battery may not
perform properly because the chemical reaction inside the battery occurs slowly.
2. Please avoid a complete discharge and a complete recharge.
Because there is no memory phenomenon in a lithium ion battery and as the lithium ion
moves between anode material and cathode material, it may change the minute structure
of two materials, it may cause the problem if the complete recharge and discharge repeat.

Connection to Device
1) There is no connection even when IP address is entered on the web browser.
(1) Please check whether the device is properly connected with Wi-Fi.
(2) If the front part of the address is written as https://, please erase s and connect as
http://.
2) The device is not connected through the applications.
(1) Please check whether the device is properly connected with Wi-Fi.
3) “MGTEC WX1” does not appear on the Wireless Network List.
(1) Please check whether the power switch of the device is set to ON.
(2) Please check whether the Wi-Fi LED of the device is on.
(3) Please check whether SSID setup of the device has been changed.
Internet
1) Internet does not work even LAN cable is connected to WAN port.
(1) Please check whether the dynamic IP address is set at the Wireless Setup of setup
page (http://192.168.1001).
When Storing Externally
1) The external storage device is not recognized.
(1) Please check whether the type of the external storage device is EXFAT.
(2) The types that WX1 supports are FAT32 and NTFS.
2) The contents of the external storage device do not appear on PC or Smartphone.
(1) It takes about 10 seconds to read the contents, and if it does not appear for a long
time, please reboot the device.

Video
1) The video does not play on Smartphone.
(1) Please check whether the video player application used supports the codec of the
corresponding video file.
(2) Please refer to the HELP of the corresponding application about the video player.
2) There is an interruption while playing the video.
(1) Please check whether the automatic update is in progress for the window, virus
programs, etc.
(2) The operation of the device may be slower during the progress of an automatic
update.
3) The subtitle does not appear while playing the video.
(1) Please check whether the subtitle file with the same name as the video file exists in
the same folder.
(2) Please check whether the program or the application used to play the video supports
the external subtitle.
Battery
1) Battery does not recharge.
(1) Please check whether the recharging adaptor offers the voltage and current suitable
for the device.
(2) Please check whether the device has been stored under the discharged condition for
a long time.
(3) If the device is stored under the discharged condition for a long time, it may cause
damage on the battery or shorten the battery life so that it may not recharge.
2) Battery use hours shortened.
(1) Originally, the battery life shortens as the charging and discharging continue.
(2) When the product is used for a long time, it is normal that the battery use hours
decrease.
Except, please inquire A/S center if the battery use hours have decreased rapidly.
