Intended use
This instrument is designed to be used in analytical laboratories by trained staff. The instrument is suitable
for measuring molecular absorbance or transmittance in the ultra-violet (UV) and visible (VIS) range of
analytical samples.
Any other type of use and operation beyond the limits of technical specifications without written consent from
Mettler-Toledo GmbH is considered as not intended.
Responsibilities of the instrument owner
The instrument owner is the person that uses the instrument for commercial use or places the instrument at
the disposal of the staff. The instrument owner is responsible for product safety and the safety of staff, users

UV5 Bio
The UV/VIS excellence spectrophotometers based on an array setup. Array instruments have a robust
mechanical design and do not contain any moving optical parts, improving the wavelength reproducibility.
The array detector analyzes all wavelengths in parallel, measuring a complete spectrum very quickly.
