The appliance is designe d for use in serving lines, restaurants, cafés and kit chens.
The upper section a nd basin of t he col d di splay are des igned fo r short -ti me stora ge of pre cooled foodstuffs be fore di stri buti on. T he a pplian ce i s not intende d for ref rige ratin g p roducts from higher temperatures. The cupboard of models equipped with a refrigerated
cupboard is intended for cold storage of products.

4.1Operation
Before putting products in the unit, wait until it has reached the temperature set with the
thermostat.
Correct cold storage of foodstuffs facilitates kitchen activities and affects energy consumption. Please obs erve the followin g points when using the appliance:
•Do not put produc ts in the applia nce unt il i t has reached t he correc t opera tin g temperature.
•Always keep the products in good order.
•Do not unnecessar ily keep the cupboard door open.
•Always keep the sl iding doors of the showcase properly closed.
•Do not store spoilt food in the unit.
•Dry moisture off the shelves and interior walls as needed.
•Monitor the internal temperature of the unit daily.
•Preserve the products in dishes fitted with lids or cover them with a plastic foil.
This helps to keep the evaporator free from ice.

When placing products in the cupboard, sufficient air circulation should be ensured. Do
not place products in touch with walls.
The appliance is equipped with automatic defrost, which means that the user does not
need to bother with defrosting.
In normal conditions, the thermostat need not be adjusted. In case adjustment, however,
is required, see instructions in “Installation/Temperature adjustment”.

Warm, humid summer-time may caus e condensat ion on the exterior surfaces of the refrigerated display. Humidit y is not prese nt in side t he disp lay, so it doe s not damag e product s.
The problem can be manage d by sligh tly raising the temperature of the appliance. In general, a rise as small as 2°C will considerably decrease condensation.

In normal use, the applia nce do es no t r equire any ot her daily care th an su fficie nt cleaning .
The interior and exterior of the appliance is mainly of stainless st ee l. For cleaning the interior and exterior, use neutral or slightly alkaline cleaning agents or wipe the surfaces
with a damp cloth. Abrasive materials should not be used, especially not on acrylic surfaces.
Cleaning the applia nce with a hose is f orbidden . Do not eithe r spray water in the immediate vicinity of the appli ance , bec ause wa ter s praye d c an ge t int o t he ve nt holes of the compressor cassette or into the display’s electrical connections, thus causing a hazardous
situation.
The inner part of the basin can be detached without tools for cleaning.
Clean the condenser (units equipped with own machinery) once a week. The machinery
does not normally require any other cleaning.
Vacuum-clean the condenser by using a plastic noz zle to avoid damaging the conde nser.
Before vacuum-cleaning the condenser, switch off the appliance at the power supply by
unplugging the electric cable from the socket.
Other cleaning measures than the condenser c lea ning should be carried out by an authorised service compa n y .
It is recommended to have the compressor cassette cleaned inside by a service company
1-2 times a year.

5.1Operating conditio ns
The appliance shoul d not be pl aced in a loca tion exposed to heavy ther mal load, e .g. direct
sunlight or thermal radiators. Positioning cold equipment close to bains marie and ovens
should be avoided.
The appliance is designed for operarion in normal ambient conditions (i.e. termperature
+10°C to + 25°C, relative humidity max. 60 %).

5.2Transport and storage
The appliance sho uld be transp orted to the insta llation s ite in its tran sport packa ge. Do not
remove package until in the immediate vicinity of the installation place. The appliance
should be transported in an upright position.
The appliance is made of polished stainless steel and of plastic/glass, so it can become
scratched very easily in site conditions. Therefore, the appliance should be delivered to
the installation site at a later stage of construction work. It is forbidden to use the appliance as an installation base.
The appliance should not be stored outdoors, not even in its transport package.
In case th e ap plianc e h as b een sto r e d in a no n -h e a te d loc a t io n so th a t it s te mp er ature and
particularly the temperature of the machinery has fallen below 0°C, the appliance should
be kept in room tempera ture unti l the machi ne ry tempe rature is at le ast 10° C. Start ing th e
cold machinery may damage the compressor.
In case th e ap plianc e h as be en he av i ly ti lt ed just bef o re the inte nd e d st art-up, yo u sh o ul d
wait about 30 minutes before switching the appliance on. Otherwise the oil accumulated
in the suction inlets of the compressor may damage the compressor with a hydraulic
shock.
5.3Unpacking the appliance
Remove foils protecting the stainless steel and plastic surfaces cautiously to prevent the
surfaces from getting scratched.

The appliance is supplied with adjustable legs. Mount the appliance with the help of the
adjustable legs in a horizontal position as accurately as possible, ensuring that the appliance rests evenly on all legs. If adjust ment is not performed with gre at care, the door and
locks may not work properly.
It is not possible to adjust an appliance fitted with wheels.
Units intended for marine use are welded in place or bolted from the mounting holes of
the adj us table leg s to th e de ck .
5.4.1Condenser air circulation
Ensure sufficie n t air inlet/air cir cu lation for the cond en ser.
The display should not be i nstalled i n a place wher e external a ir flow dist urbs the dis play’s
air circulation. Disturbance can be caused, for example, by

•positioning of ventilation equipment
•heat sources that radiate or blow warm air t owards the display’s front section (not
either should these be located near the display ends).
If a refrigerated display is install ed in a serving line, care should be taken that there is no
air gap between the unit and the tray slide, through which warm air could get into the
unit’s cooling air circulation (item A).
Make sure that the condenser air inlet is not blocked and that warm air can freely exit
through the front section (and cannot get back into the unit).

5.5Electrical connections
Connect the appliance to the power supply with an earthed socket. For making the connection, a socket prote cted with a fuse of 16 A has to be provided for each unit.
5.6Start-up
After connecting the appliance to the power supply, turn on the main switch (green) and
make sure that the indic ator l igh t o f t he swi tch l ights up. L igh ting i s s witc hed on using th e
orange switch. The model equipped with a refrigerated cupboard has a separate main
swit ch (gr e en ) .
When the main switch is turned on, the internal temperature of the appliance is shown on
the temperature display (control unit). The compressor starts operating after a short time
delay.
In case you have problems with taking the appliance into use, contact an au thorized service workshop.

5.7Temperature adjustment
The temperature of the appliance is factory set to the value appropriate for each unit. This
value should be altered on careful consideration only. Adjusting the temperature too low
(below +4ºC) may lead to rapi d freez ing up of the evapora tor and to cont inuous operati on
of the co mpresso r .
The appliance is fitted with an elec tronic contro l unit for temperature and defrosting. The
temperature display panel and the operating switches are located on the upper section of
the refrigeration unit.

5.7.1Thermostat operation
The microprocessor-based control unit contains a series of parameters to control the refrigerated display’s functions. Each refrigeration unit has been pre-programmed at the
factory. The user can carry out two programming functions: setting the temperature and
starting a manual defrost cycle.

Press the “set” (P4) button twi ce to display the set value. Use the arrow UP (P1) and arrow
DOWN (P2) b u ttons to change this value. When the correct value has been selecte d, wait
for 5 s ec onds to confir m this va lu e.
A manual defrost cycle can be started by pressing and holding down the arrow UP (P1)
button for about 5 seconds . The defrost indicator light L2 starts flashing.
LED indicator lights
LED L1 on indicates that an alarm has oc curred; flashi ng, indicates tha t an alarm has been
silenced.
LED L2 on indicates that a defrost cycle is in progress; flashing, indicates that a manual
defrost cycle is in progress.
LED L3 on ind i ca tes tha t th e comp r essor is on ; f la s h i ng , indicates th a t th ere is a del ay, a
safety delay or a compressor switc h-on block.
LED L4 indicates that the fan is working.

In case the appliance does not function as expected, review the following list of proble ms
to find out if the appliance can be put in order without a service call. In all enquiries,
please contact an authorized service company. Most problems can be managed on the
phone.
