Instructions
To connect via Bluetooth:
2) The LED will flash between Red and Blue while in pairing mode.
3) Open the Bluetooth function of your mobile phone or laptop and search for “Merlin Soundbox” device and connect to it. Usually you don’t need to enter a password but if required the default is ‘0000’.
4) Once connected successfully the LED will be a steady blue color.
Product layout:
Charging:
The Helios Soundbox have two methods of charging. The first is via a regular DC power supply and the other is using the solar panels located at the top of the unit.
DC Power Supply:
Charge the Helios using a 5V/1A USB charger. Connect a micro USB cable to the micro USB charging port (DC) of the device.
Solar Power:
Place the Helios in direct sunlight to charge the battery using solar power. The green LED will light up when the solar panel picks up enough energy to charge the Helios. Charging times will vary according to the amount of sunlight available. Typically, a 1-hour charge will give 3 hours of listening.
Low Battery warning. When the battery is running low on this device it will give a ‘dong’ tone and the red led with flash to make the user aware the battery is low. At this point please charge the device to enjoy it further.
Music Playback controls:
Short press the “+” button switch to next song. Long press the “+” button to increase the volume. Short press the “-“ button go to the previous song. Long press the “-“ button to decrease the volume. Press the answer (telephone) button to Play or Pause the music.
Aux in:
The Helios is equipped with a 3.5mm Aux in connection. At any stage of usage connect your source to the Aux in via a cable. The unit will make a “beep” sound and then start to amplify the audio through the Helios.
Flashlight:
The Helios Soundbox is equipped with an internal flashlight. Press the flashlight button twice to switch it on and off. Once on press the button again to change emergency mode of S.O.S. and flashing modes.
Phone Call Handling:
Once a Bluetooth connection is made with your mobile the Helios can be used to make and receive calls. To receive call short press the “answer”(phone). Press it again the hang up the call. To dial the last number long press the “answer” button.
FAQ Q) Speaker will not turn on.
A) Make sure your speaker battery has sufficient power. Charge the product before using it.
Q) None of the buttons are working.
A) Please switch the unit off for 30min and try again. If the problem persists please press the “Reset” button located next to the charging port.
Q) No sound is coming from the speaker.
A) Make sure all cables are properly connected and the unit is charged. Check the Helios Soundbox is connected to the Bluetooth. Increase the volume.

Maintenance:
1. Retain these instructions for future use.
2. Clean the product with a damp cloth and mild soap.
3. Do not expose this product to rain or moisture.
4. Be careful not to turn or twist the cables used in this product too much as it can lead to malfunction and failure.
5. This product is not designed to be submerged in water and will malfunction if this occurs.
6. This product has no user serviceable items inside. Do not open this product as the user risk injury and would void the warranty.
7. Keep unit away from strong magnetic fields to avoid interference with the product.
8. The Helios Soundbox will automatically switch off after 15 minutes if it is not in use.
9. When the battery is low the unit will emit a beep to indicate it needs charging.
