Meridian’s free-standing loudspeakers are extremely elegant in their design. But
there are times when you simply don’t want to see loudspeakers. At all. In a living
room, perhaps, or a custom home theatre installation where you want to create
the perfect atmosphere to watch a movie – comfortable seats, subtle lighting, a
big screen – and nothing else. But you still want perfect sound.

That’s why Meridian, leaders in luxury home entertainment systems, has
introduced a new range of in-wall DSP (Digital Signal Processing) loudspeakers.
Taking the latest technological developments that went into the new generation
of free-standing DSP Loudspeakers, like the elegant M6, Meridian has applied
these to a range of in-wall loudspeakers, offering the same superb performance –
almost invisibly.

Meridian was the first to bring active loudspeakers into the home, with the M1
in 1977. It was the first to demonstrate a digital loudspeaker and to introduce a
DSP-based loudspeaker. DSP loudspeakers are part of Meridian’s DNA.

In a Meridian DSP Loudspeaker, the signal is fed digitally into the enclosure – no
heavy, expensive traditional loudspeaker cables. Inside the enclosure, powerful
Digital Signal Processing splits the sound to feed the different loudspeaker
drivers. Proprietary Meridian technologies actually improve the sound quality,
by upsampling it to a higher rate and employing a special ‘apodising’ system,
producing audio that rivals the finest high-resolution recordings. The signals
are fed to precision digital converters and then to powerful amplifiers, one for
each loudspeaker driver. The result: a level of sound quality that would require
conventional loudspeakers of eight times the physical volume. Superb, lifelike,
world-class audio performance you expect from Meridian. Performance that can
be heard and enjoyed – but not seen.

Two full-range loudspeakers plus a subwoofer launch Meridian’s new in-wall
range. The DSP520 features a wide-range 85mm driver plus a 140mm bass
driver, while the DSP630 includes two bass drivers and one wide-range. Each
driver is powered by its own perfectly matched amplifier for clean, powerful and
enveloping sound. The DSW600 subwoofer, with its triple bass drivers, can be
added on its own, for example in a 5.1 or 2.1 system, or for even more impressive
performance, match each main loudspeaker with its own sub to form a single,
completely-integrated, “super-speaker”.

All the units are slim – just 200mm (7.87in) wide*. Their sophisticated back-box
and frame mounting system makes installation simple and easy, and provides
the widest range of adjustments for maximum flexibility. Meridian’s SpeakerLink
cabling makes wiring simple too.
