Updating firmware in 800 DVD Player
If using a USB port on your PC, Meridian recommends the use of the “Keyspan”-branded USB-to-serial adapter.
Other adapters cannot be guaranteed to communicate successfully with Meridian products.
Run the flash uploader from the Start program as shown here:

Once the program is open, press the box with three dots
Browse to the folder in which the firmware files are saved. If necessary, change the “Files of Type” selection to
“Meridian Firmware Package (*.mfp)” as shown here…

Open the MFP file. The window should appear like this:

Select the appropriate port on the PC (COM1, COM2 etc) using the drop-down menu:
Ensure that the serial lead is connected to the RS232 socket on the DV20 card in the centre of product’s backpanel. Click on “Start” to begin the process. You will be prompted to perform a sequence of switching the
product’s power off then on and then pressing “Stop” on the product’s front-panel:
Follow the instructions and the update will begin. The program will display a progress bar like this:

The first three files will automatically load. Here, the second file is loading:
Once the first three files are loaded, the program will prompt you to move the serial cable to the other socket on
the back-panel of the product and to switch the power off then on:
Follow the instructions and the upload will recommence. The final file will be loaded:

Once completed, the message “Store completed successfully” will be displayed like this:
The product has been updated. As always, it is recommended that the product is reset to a Factory Type before
re-configuring.
