Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC
Active DistanceAssist DISTRONIC maintains a constant speed which has been stored. The lowest speed that can be set is 20 mph (30 km/h).
You can change the setspeed:
X 1mph (1 km/h) step: Briefly press the lever
up or down.
X 5mph (10km/h) step: Press thelever up or
down past the pressurepoint.
WhenActive Distance PilotDISTRONIC is activated, one or two segments in the set speed range light up in the speedometer. Using the controller on the DISTRONIC lever, you can change the specified minimumdistance to the vehicleinfront. The specified minimum distance depends on thecurrently driven speed.

Adjusting automatic climate control
You can adjust climatecontrol using thebuttons on control panel 1.
If you change any settings, the lower edge of display 2 briefly shows the currentsettingsof climate control.

e Air-recirculation mode
The air in the interior will be recirculated. In air-recirculation mode,the windows
can fog up more quickly.
Ì Residual heat with the engine off _ Sets the air distribution
Climate control regulates the temperature and the humidity in the vehicle interior and filters undesirablesubstances out of the air. Climate control is only operational when the engine is running. Optimum operation is only achieved when the side windows and the roof are closed.
To prevent thewindows from fogging up, please observe the following information:
^ Switches off climatecontrol only briefly e Switch on air-recirculation mode only

¿ Switch on the cooling function.
In warm weather, the air inside the vehicle will be cooled. This function also dries the air insidethe vehicle.
¬ If necessary, briefly switch on the
windshield defroster.

Starting a dialog
The Voice Control System allows you to comfortably operate the majority of the multimedia system's functions.
X To say a command: Press the ó button
and say a command after the audible signal.

Say the "Help" command.
Help for a specific system:
Say the help command for the desired system, e.g. "Help telephone".

If youpress the ó button, the possible commands are shown in a help window. You can switch off the display of this help window in the multimedia system.
Examples
Navigation commands
"Enter destination"
A dialog for entering a destination in the navigation system will be started. Thereafter, say the destination address.
"Nearest gas station"
Many more categories for points of interest are available, e.g. restaurant or tourist attraction.
"Navigate to John Doe"
Start route guidance to a contact from your address book.
Voice Control System
Telephone commands
"Call John Doe"
The telephone number of a stored contact is dialed.
"New message"
A dialog for entering a text message (SMS) will be started.
Audio commands
"Station Z100"
If you are listeningto the radio, you can say the nameof a station to which you would like to listen.
"Search for music"
A dialog in which you can search throughyour music files will be started.

You can operate the menusof the multimedia system using the controller.
X Controller: Turn or slide in the direction of the
desired entry.
X Confirm your choiceby pressingthe controller.

Creating favorites
1 Adds a new favorite 2 Renames a selected favorite
3 Moves a selected favorite 4 Deletes a selected favorite
Forrapid access to functions which are called up frequently, you can create up to 20 favorites.
Adding a pre-defined favorite
X Press the g button.
The favorites aredisplayed.
X Slide the controller down.
The menu bar is shown.
X Select Reassign and use the controller to
select a category.
X Select a favorite and storeit in the desired
position.
Adding your own favorite
You can createyourown favorites, e.g. telephone numbers or navigation destinations.
Example for a telephone number:
X Press the % button and select Name in the
Telephone menu.
X Select a contactand display the telephone
number.
X Press and hold the g button until the
favorites are displayed.
X Add afavorite at the desired position.
Operating the multimedia system
Quickly storing radio stations
If you are listening to the radio and the Radio menu is shown in the multimedia system:
X Press and hold the controller until the station
list is shown.
X Select the desiredpreset in the station list and
confirm. A tone confirms thesave.

Searching for a mobile phone
X Press the % button on the center console. X Select Conn. Device 1.
X Audio 20: Select Connect NewDevice.
X Select Connect via Vehicle.
X Select the desired mobile phone.
X If possible,select the intended usage of the
mobile phone (main or secondary phone).
X COMAND: Select Search for Phones.
X Select Start Search.
X Select the desired mobile phone.
Authorizing amobile phone
X Acodeisdisplayed in the multimedia system
and on the mobile phone.
X If the codes match: If necessary, confirm in
the multimedia system with Yes.
X Confirm thecode on themobile phone.

If you carry the KEYLESS-GO key on your person, you will be detected by a sensor.
Do not touchthe bumper and maintain a distance of around 12 in (30 cm).
