3. Operating the machine
3.1Startin go
Before s tarting wor k with the edgin g machine,
check the following:
• If the mac hine has not been use d for a longer
period , check that all par ts are mounte d and
atta ched correct ly, and that all scre ws are tight.
Inspec t it for damage to ensu re that it will fun ction faul tlessly.
• Atta ch the dust bag to th e suction tube.
• Using the r oller adjustme nt aid, check tha t
the spac ing between th e oor and each of the
machine ’s two roller s is the same. If it is no t the
same, ad just as necessa ry in order to ach ieve the
best sa nding result.
• Check th at the edging mach ine’s power cab les
are in good o rder and free of dama ge. Only once
these s teps have been comp leted should you
connec t the edging mach ine to a power supply.
• While sa nding, do not leav e the power cable
lying on t he oor so as to avoid r unning over it.
• Keep your h and on the grip at all t imes when
the motor i s running.
2.3 Operating safety tips
• Only use t he machine once it i s fully assembled.
• Make sure th at all protecti ve mechanisms an d
covers a re in place and rmly a ttached.
• This edg ing machine shoul d be used only
by traine d professional s who have read and
understood these instruc tions regarding use and
mainten ance, are familiar w ith the machine a nd
have rece ived on-site in struction .
• Operat ion of the edging ma chine is permissible onl y if special safe ty precaut ions are taken.
When using the machine, you must wear gloves,
safet y goggles, ea r protection, a nd protectiv e
clothin g as well as a breathin g mask.
• Keep your h ands, hair, feet and an y loose clothing far awa y from moving par ts.
• When ta king breaks or mak ing repairs to th e

power supply.
• While wo rking with the e dging machine, do
not touch a ny metal objec ts such as radiato rs,
railings, etc.
• Do not take o ut the dust bag wh ile the motor
is runnin g.
• Use the ma chine solely for t reating dry, at
surfa ces. The edging m achine is not suit able for
sandin g furniture, st airs, etc. Do n ot under any
circums tances use the m achine on metal ob jects
– this is an ac ute re hazard!
• The dus t bag must be empti ed when it is halffull, or w henever you have nished working w ith
the machi ne. Keep the dust b ag well away from
sources o f re or sparks.
• Sandin g dust should be st ored in a re-pro of
metal container.
the sand ed surface and p rove detriment al to the
sanding result.
3.2 .6 Dust bag
Once the du st bag has been ll ed halfway,
remove it f rom the suctio n tube, take it out doors
and vigor ously shake out th e dust. Never emp ty
the dust b ag in an enclosed ar ea, since inhala tion of sa nding dust can be h azardous to one’ s
health . Store sanding dus t in a metal conta iner
so that it d oes not present a r e hazard. Clean
the dust b ag in a washing machi ne using cold
water in or der to unblock it s pores, prevent i ts
eect iveness bein g reduced, and sign icantly
increase its operating lifetime.
Never lea ve the machine uns upervised w ith a
full dus t bag: This prese nts an acute re ha zard
becaus e the dust can ign ite by itself.
3.2.7 Lubrication
The san ding disc coupling , the spaces bet ween
the bear ings, and the bal l bearings shoul d be
oiled af ter every 70 0 hours of serv ice.
3.2 Operating the machine
The machine’s rollers should have equal clear-
ance to the oor in order to preve nt tilting of
the sand ing wheel. A test s anding will let y ou
determ ine whether the ro llers are corre ctly
positioned. During sanding check the tension of
the V-be lt regularly (se e section 3. 2.3).
3.2.1 Changing the abrasive
Disconnect the machine from the power supply.
Tip the ma chine and lay it dow n so that the
sucti on tube lies on the o or. Hold the s anding
wheel in p lace. Loosen the co untersunk nut s
to remove t he sanding whee l. Make sure the
sandin g wheel is clean bef ore you apply a new
sandin g disc. The new san ding disc must be
undamage d; otherwise , the sanding whe el itself
could sustain damage.
3.2. 2 Changing the attachment
Before changing the attachment, disconnect
the machine from the power supply. Loosen the
adjust ment bolt. The n loosen and remov e the
two mounting screws. Now you can remove the
attachment. Each attachment comes with a Vbelt of the appropriate length.
3.2 .3 Changing the V -belt
Remove th e belt guard by loo sening and removing the th ree screws, and r emove the worn- out
V-belt . Mount the new V- belt on the drive shaft.
To make this easie r, you can rem ove the sanding
wheel by e xtractin g the conical disc an d the
three mo unting screws .
Once you ha ve installed t he new V-belt, re -
mount the sanding wheel and tighten the mounting screw s of the belt guard . Adjust the tens ion
of the V-b elt by means of the ad justment bolt .
3.2.4 Sandin g chamber
Clean th e attachment o f sanding dust re gularly
using a vac uum cleaner. This will p revent any
hazardous accumulation of sanding dust and
keep the ed ging machine oper ating at optimal
eectiveness.
3.2 .5 Rollers
Regular ly clean the mach ine’s body and ro llers,
since any di rt could cause s cratches or ridg es in
