MIL-SPEC Series
For Harsh Environments, Commercial and Industrial
Over-Molded Cables | Receptacles | Field Wireables | Accessories
The original U.S. Department of Defense circular connectors were developed in the 1930s for severe aeronautical and tactical service
applications. These early connectors were referred to as “Type AN” (Army-Navy). This series set the standard for modern military
circular connectors. Today, these connectors are often called Military Standard, “MIL-STD”, “MIL-SPEC”, “MIL-EQUAL” or “MIL-EQUIV”
connectors. They are commonly used in aerospace, industrial, marine, commercial, and automotive applications.
As a result of their acknowledged ruggedness and durability, they have become widely accepted in industrial applications. Mencom
has designed, and now offers an Industrial Equivalent, to the MIL-Spec 5015 connector series, in order to meet the strong demand
from various industries.
• Communications systems
• Motorized Conveyors
• Factory automation
• Motion control
• Industrial machinery
• Industrial Instrumentation
• Medical instrumentation
• Mining equipment
• Mobile equipment
• Earth-moving equipment
5015 Industrial MIL-SPEC EquivalentApplications
Mencom MIL-Spec circular connectors include completely over-molded
cord sets and pre-wired & epoxied panel mount receptacles. This plug and
play design simplies the installation for the user and eliminates the risk
of incorrectly wiring the connector. The same size connector may offer a
choice of contact sizes and arrangements that allow for power, signal, or
combinations of both to perfectly t your application.
The end-user no longer has to assemble the connectors or mess around
with soldering, unless they prefer our eld installable version. The standard
connectors are provided with the familiar North American Color Codes
recognized in the industrial market, but customer specic cables and color
codes are possible upon request.
