IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Congratulations on your purchase of the Memorex Bluetooth® Multi-Media
Boombox! The MW5554, with built-in Bluetooth® A2DP Profile Wireless Technology
rocks the house with its High Power Audio Amplifier and Spectrum Analyzer
displayed on the LCD screen. Its rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery makes
it portable. Choose your source of music from any Bluetooth-enabled device,
FM-PLL stereo radio, or MP3 files on a USB drive or SD Card. Please follow these
operational instructions carefully. Save them for future reference.
RECHARGEABLE BATTERY
The MW5554 Bluetooth Multi-Media Boombox features a built-in rechargeable
battery that can be charged using the Micro USB DC Jack bn located on the rear
of the unit. Before first use, fully recharge the speaker for a minimum of 8 hours for
optimal performance and battery life.
1. Connect charging cable (included) to a computer USB port or USB power adapter
with 5V supply.
2. When connected to a power source, the CHARGE indicator v will light solid Red
to indicate the charging is in progress.
3. The CHARGE indicator v will turn off when the integrated battery is fully charged.
CHARGING AN EXTERNAL DEVICE
You can charge an external device by connecting its USB charging cable into the
rear USB CHARGING socket bq under the rubber flap. Charging does not work while
in the FM mode.
OPERATION
Pair a Bluetooth-Enabled Mobile Device
1. Turn on MW5554 by pressing the Power button X located on front of the unit.
2. Repeatedly press the Function button bk to select the Bluetooth mode (the
Bluetooth indicator will appear in the display and a tone will sound). The unit
will automatically search for and pair to a previously paired Bluetooth device (if
previously paired). You can also press and hold the FM Mode/Pair/Play-Pause
( ) button bt for 2 seconds to begin pairing; the blue PAIR indicator will blink.
3. Turn on your mobile device’s Bluetooth option in settings to search for a
discoverable device with a Bluetooth signal. Select MRX-MW5554 from the
device results on your smartphone or tablet.
4. You can also switch between paired devices or pair a new device by pressing and
holding the FM Mode/Pair/Play-Pause ( ) button bt for 2 seconds; the blue PAIR
indicator will blink.
5. You will hear an audible tone indicating the Bluetooth connection is now enabled
and the blue PAIR indicator U will light solid when successfully paired.
6. Use “0000” if a pairing code is necessary on your mobile device.
7. Find your music selection on your mobile device, select play and enjoy!
8. While connected via Bluetooth, press the FM Mode/Pair/Play-Pause ( ) button
bt to Play or Pause and the Tune/Skip 9 an / : ao buttons to go back or
advance tracks.
If connection is lost after successful pairing, check to make sure the distance
between speaker and Bluetooth-enabled device does not exceed 30 ft/10 m. If the
connection is interrupted due to low battery, switch the speaker off, recharge the
internal battery, and repeat steps when fully charged.
Listen to Music Using USB or SD Card with MP3 Audio Files
1. Insert a USB drive into USB MP3 socket W or SD Card into SD socket bl.
2. Repeatedly press the Function button bk to select the USB or SD CARD mode;
the unit will automatically start playing the music after up to 60 seconds.
3. Press the FM Mode/Pair/Play-Pause ( ) button bt to Play or Pause and the Tune/
Skip 9 an / : ao buttons to go back or advance tracks. You can also press
the Stop /Program/Memory button ap to stop playback. Select different folders
using the P.MODE/MEM +/FOLDER + button aq (press and hold) or to cycle
through the Playback modes: Repeat 1

4. You can program up to 20 tracks to play back in the order you set. When in the
Stop mode, press the Stop /Program/Memory button ap; “P01” (Program 1) will
blink in the display. Select a track to be played first using the Tune/Skip 9 an
/ : ao buttons, then press the Stop /Program/Memory button ap. Repeat to
program up to 20 tracks and press the FM Mode/Pair/Play-Pause ( ) button bt
to start program playback.
5.
To delete a program, press the Stop /Program/Memory button ap twice while in the
Stop mode.

6. To remove the USB drive or SD Card, first turn the unit’s power off by pressing the
Power button X.
Listen to Music Using FM-PLL Radio
Enjoy your favorite FM stations with crisp, digital tuning and easy programming for
station presets.
1. Repeatedly press the Function button bk to select the FM mode.
2. Manually search for stations by tapping the Tune/Skip 9 an / : ao buttons or
auto search by pressing and holding the buttons for 2 seconds; the next strong FM
station will tune in.
3. Static can be reduced on a station by changing from the Stereo (“ST”) mode to
Mono mode by pressing the FM Mode/Pair/Play-Pause ( ) button bt.
4. Adjust the FM Antenna bm as desired.
5. To save station selections, press the Stop /Program/Memory button ap, then
the Tune/Skip 9 an / : ao buttons. Confirm the preset by pressing the Stop /
Program/Memory button ap.
6. Repeat step 5 to save up to 20 stations for recall.
7. Press P.MODE/MEM +/FOLDER + button aq to recall and play preset stations.
Listen to Music Using the Line-In Source
This unit provides an auxiliary audio signal input jack for connecting external audio
devices like MP3 players, CD players and listening to your external source through
the speakers of this system.
1. Insert one end of an audio cable (not included) into the Line Out Jack (or
Headphone Jack) on your external audio device and the other end into the AUX
Jack bp.
2. Repeatedly press the Function button bk to select the AUX mode.
3. Use the connected external audio device to play and pause music. Sound will be
heard through the speaker.
4. Adjust the speaker volume level either by pushing the “+” ar or “–” as Volume
buttons on this unit, or by using the volume controls on the mobile device.
HEADPHONE JACK
For private listening, insert headphone cable (not included) into the Headphone jack
bo located on the back of the unit.
AUTO OFF
The MW5554 will automatically shut off if there is no music from a Line-In source or
from a Bluetooth-enabled device for more than 20 minutes.
Notes:
• Charging time will vary if you listen to music while charging the battery. Turn off
the speaker power during the charging process or until battery is fully charged.
• To prolong battery life, completely discharge before fully recharging again.
• Recharge the battery at least once a month.
MAINTAINING YOUR SYSTEM FOR CONTINUED ENJOYMENT
• When not in use, turn the unit off. To extend the battery life of your external
audio/mobile device, turn off the Bluetooth signal when not in use.
• Keep the unit away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
• Clean durable rubberized exterior with a damp soft cloth.
• Protect your furniture when placing the unit on wood and lacquered finishes.
Notes:
• When the unit is on and in Bluetooth source mode, the speaker will automatically
try to connect to the most recently played paired device when available. Up to
six devices maximum may be stored in Bluetooth memory.
• To avoid interference, deactivate Wi-Fi on your device (smartphone, tablet, etc.)
when using Bluetooth.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Not Charging:
• Check to make sure the USB cable (provided) is plugged into the Micro USB Jack
and the other end is plugged into a USB Power Adapter (not included) or Powered
USB jack on a computer.
• Plug another device into the same outlet to confirm the power source is working.
Sound not clear or no sound:
• Check volume levels on both MW5554 speaker and connected device.
• Check distance between this unit and the connected device.
Music does not play from external device:
• Make sure you are using a Bluetooth-enabled device.
• Select MRX-MW5554 as your speaker device, disconnect this unit and device
from pairing with all other devices.
• Check if both devices are connected.
• Restart the MW5554 and auto-connect with the Bluetooth-enabled device.
Unit gets warm after extended play at high volume
• This is normal; tur n the unit off for a period of time or lower the volume.

PILA RECARGABLE
El Sistema reproductor multimedia con Bluetooth MW5554 cuenta con una batería interna

1. Conecte el cable de carga (incluido) al puerto USB de una computadora o a un adaptador USB

2. Cuando lo conecte a una fuente de energía, el LED CARGA v se iluminará en rojo sólido para
indicar que la carga está en curso.
3. El indicador de CARGA (CHARGE) v se apagará cuando la batería interna esté totalmente
cargada.
CARGA DE UN DISPOSITIVO EXTERNO
Puede cargar un dispositivo externo conectando el cable de carga USB del dispositivo en el
toma bq de CARGA DE USB localizado en la parte de atras. La función de carga no funciona en
el modo FM.
FUNCIONAMIENTO
Emparejar un dispositivo móvil con Bluetooth
1. Encienda el MW5554 presionando el botón de Encendido (Power) X ubicado en la parte
delantera de la unidad.
2. Presione varias veces el botón de Función bk para seleccionar el modo Bluetooth (el indicador
de Bluetooth aparecerá en la pantalla y sonará un tono). La unidad buscará automáticamente
y se conectará con un dispositivo Bluetooth conectado previamente (si fue conectado antes).
También puede presionar y sostener el botón Modo FM/Emparejar/Reproducir-Pausar ( )
(FM Mode/Pair/Play-Pause) bt por 2 segundos para comenzar a conectar; el indicador azul de
EMPAREJADO (PAIR) parpadeará.
3. Encienda la opción Bluetooth en su dispositivo móvil, desde el menú de configuración, para
buscar un dispositivo reconocible con señal Bluetooth. Seleccione MRX-MW5554 a partir de
los resultados en su teléfono inteligente o tableta.
4. También puede cambiar entre los dispositivos ya conectados o conectar con un dispositivo
nuevo presionando y sosteniendo el botón ( ) Emparejar/Reproducir-Pausar (Pair/PlayPause) bt por 2 segundos; el indicador U azul de EMPAREJADO (PAIR) parpadeará.
5. Escuchará un tono sonoro que indica que la conexión de Bluetooth está activada y el
indicador U azul de EMPAREJADO (PAIR) se iluminará cuando se haya conectado con éxito.
6. Ingrese “0000” si necesita un código de emparejamiento en su teléfono móvil.
7. Encuentre su selección de música en su dispositivo móvil, seleccione Reproducir (Play) y
comience a disfrutar.

Si la conexión de pierde luego de un emparejamiento exitoso, verifique si la distancia entre el
altavoz y el dispositivo con Bluetooth no supera los 30 pies/10 mts. Si la conexión se interrumpe a
causa de una baja carga de las pilas, apague el altavoz, recargue la pila interna y repita los pasos
cuando tenga carga completa.
Escuche música a través de USB o Tarjeta SD con archivos de audio MP3
1. Coloque un dispositivo de USB en un enchufe USB para MP3 W o una Tarjeta SD CARD en el
enchufe bl SD.
2. Presione varias veces el botón bk de Función para seleccionar el modo de USB o SD; la
unidad automáticamente comenzará a reproducir la música después de 60 segundos.

4. Puede programar hasta 20 pistas de música para volver a reproducir en el orden que las
haya configurado. Cuando está en modo Detener (Stop), presione el botón ap de Detener/
Programar/Memoria (Stop /Program/Memory) ; “P01” (Programa 1) parpadeará en la
pantalla. Seleccione una pista para reproducirse primero a través de los botones Sintonizar/
Saltar (Tune/Skip) 9 an / : ao y luego presione el botón ap de Detener/Programar/Memoria

Disfrute de sus estaciones de FM favoritas con una sintonización digital nítida y una programación

Para reducir la estática de la estación se cambia del modo Estéreo (“ST”) al modo Mono presionando el botón bt Modo FM/Emparejar/Reproducir-Pausar (FM Mode/Pair/Play-Pause) ( ).
4. Ajuste la antena bm de FM según su preferencia.
5. Para guardar las selecciones de estaciones, presione el botón ap de Detener/Programar/
Memoria (Stop/Program/Memory) y los botones Sintonizar/Saltar (Tune/Skip) 9 an / :
ao. Confirme la sintonización presionando el botón ap de Detener/Programar/Memoria (Stop/
Program/Memory) .
6. Repita el paso 5 para guardar hasta 20 estaciones que quedarán registradas.
7. Presione el botón aq de MODO REP./MEMORIA +/CARPETA + (P.MODE/MEM +/FOLDER +)
para registrar y reproducir las estaciones presintonizadas.
Escuchar música desde una línea de entrada
Esta unidad brinda una entrada de señal de audio auxiliar para conectar dispositivos de audio
externos como reproductores de MP3, de CD y escuchar su fuente externa a través de los
altavoces de este sistema.
1. Introduzca uno de los extremos del cable de audio (incluido) en la línea de salida (o conexión
para auriculares) del dispositivo de audio externo y el otro extremo en la linea de entrada del
altavoz bp.
2. Presione varias veces el botón bk de Función (Function) para seleccionar el modo AUX.
3. Utilice el dispositivo de audio externo conectado para reproducir y pausar música. El sonido se
escuchará desde el altavoz.
4. Ajuste el nivel de volumen del altavoz presionando los botones de volumen “+” ar o “–” as en
la parte superior del altavoz o con los controles de volumen en el dispositivo de audio externo
conectado.
ENTRADA PARA AURICULARES
Para escuchar en privado, coloque el cable del auricular (no incluido) en la toma bo para auricular
ubicada en la parte trasera de la unidad.
APAGADO AUTOMÁTICO
El MW5554 se apagará automáticamente si no detecta música de la fuente de Line-In (Línea de
entrada) o de un dispositivo con Bluetooth activado por más de 20 minutos.
Notas:
• El tiempo de carga variará si escucha música mientras carga la pila. Apague el altavoz
durante el proceso de carga o hasta que la pila esté totalmente cargada.
• Para prolongar la vida útil de la pila, descargue completamente antes de volver a
recargarla por completo.
• Recargue la pila al menos una vez al mes.
MANTENER SU SISTEMA PARA UN ENTRETENIMIENTO DURADERO
• Cuando no se encuentre en uso, APAGUE el unidad. Para extender la vida de la batería
de su dispositivo de audio/móvil externo, apague la señal de Bluetooth cuando no esté
en uso.
• Limpie el exterior durable cubierto de caucho con un paño suave y húmedo.
• Mantenga la unidad alejada de la luz solar directa y del calor excesivo.

Notas:
• Al encenderlo y colocarlo en modo Bluetooth, el altavoz intentará conectarse
automáticamente al dispositivo con el cual emparejó la última vez y desde el cual
reprodujo la música, siempre y cuando el mismo esté disponible. En la memoria de
Bluetooth se puede almacenar hasta un máximo de seis dispositivos.
• Para evitar interferencias, desactive el Wi-Fi en su dispositivo (teléfono inteligente,
tableta, etc.) cuando utiliza Bluetooth.

RESOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS
Sin Carga:
• Verifique que el cable de USB (suministrado) esté conectado al toma de micro USD y
que el otro extremo esté conectado a un Adaptador USB (no incluido) o un toma de USB
conectada a una computadora.
• Enchufe otro dispositivo en el mismo tomacorriente para confirmar que la fuente de
alimentación está funcionando.
Sonido sin nitidez o sin sonido:
• Compruebe los niveles de volumen en el MW5554 y el dispositivo conectado
• Verifique la distancia entre el altavoz y el dispositivo conectado.
La música no se reproduce desde el dispositivo externo:
• Asegúrese de estar utilizando un dispositivo con Bluetooth.
• Seleccione el MRX-MW5554 como su altavoz, desconecte el emparejamiento del altavoz y
